There is si much to discover about IU. In January of 2023 Rolling Stone Magazine updated their list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time. IU became the first Korean to make the list at 135. She will no doubt quickly make her way up that list.
When I first came across IU it was as an actress in the Kdrama My Mister where her performance was so compelling I found myself worrying about her in between episodes. When I found out she was a singer I was at first reluctant to hear her sing. Not knowing anything about Kpop I simply could not have handle it if I didn't like her music. As it turns out there was nothing to worry about. In fact the more I listened, especially to her live performances, the more I began to realize that she isn't just a singer, she is a rare singer, a generational talent. The clarity of her tone, the control she has over her air flow, the ease with which she is able to move the her sound from her chest voice to her head voice, the emotion shecable to communicate through her, the control of her vibrato , her range, her stage presence and charisma, her song writing all contribute to make her one of the best musical performers in the world today.
She has never performed a concert outside of Southeast Asia and Korea. Kpop soloist are never go to the West to perform, with the exception of singers who were members of groups and were able to build a fan base in the West based on there group performances in the West. So when IU embarked on her World Tour this year it was an historic event in Kpop. She held 8 arena concerts in the West as part of her tour. 1 each in London, Berlin, Newark, Atlanta, DC, Chicago, Oakland and LA. All of these venues were sold out within 15 minutes of tickets going on sale.
Her mini album The Winning contains 5 songs. There are MV's for 4 of them and her channel has released live concert clips for Shopper and Love Wins All. You should really check them out.

As an EXOL, I really like this song. Especially when IU sang it at her concert (Indonesia). Her voice is so beautiful. This is why I cried when I heard Doh Kyungsoo chose this song. 🤍
