IU had been sick the whole time of the filming and recording of this song, V recorded the MV 1 week before having to leave for the military... although this is a stand alone song/mv... there is a small reference that was also used in BTS' mv "Spring Day".... the explaination videos explain it's meaning beautifully, especially the Italian Army explaination..... The cubes were seeking out anyone who wasn't 'perfect'... IU is mute (not technically deaf like some say as she hears when the cubes are coming)... Tae is blind in one eye... the camcorder allows them to see how things would be if they were accepted by their society but if you look at the other people (faceless black head coverings... ) they were pointing and yelling at Tae and IU in the restaurant scenes.... the pile of clothes is the ones who the cubes have already vaporised..... IU posted an alternate ending screen at her concert shortly after this.. I think so many Army cried she felt bad for us hahahaha.... We didn't just cry for Tae either... we love her also... If you watch IUs show (Palette) and see the Yoongi ep, they are like bickering siblings.... Tae's ep was sooo good also, he is impressed with her vocals when she sings one of his songs...Hobi is just a ray of sunshine for his episode and they got along really well too !
