Can you trim off more of the white paper before putting in the board so you have less to try to remove?
Yes, trimming off more would definitely make it easier. Thanks Amy.
Very.nice
Thank you, Mary!
I wonder if it would help to start with using tape to take as much of the paper off first
I haven't tried that, but it is a great idea.
Always add to my pieces makes it mine
Thanks for watching!
I just found your channel, love your cutting boards, and I will be trying this on a few of my old ones.
I wonder if those heat resistant, silicone finger protectors, would help with rubbing those graphics off....
Thank you MerryBee. Silicone fingers are great idea!
Trying to make something like this as a Christmas present, what would you use to seal a cutting board if u wanted to serve food on it ?:)
I use Howard's cutting board oil. You can use other things like beeswax and mineral oil.
love your video. what kind of paper did you use to print? any particular paper?
Thank you! I just used regular copy paper on this project.
Did you use matte mod podge? TY!! I love these !
Yes, I always use matte mod podge. You don't have to I just prefer it. Thank you for watching!
Hi again! Thank you for your fast reply! I also want to confirm, inkjet printer? Do you have any advice for me? I try ink jet but I never have luck with the image . The image wipes right off. I am too impatient to wait 24 hours. I was just waiting until it felt dry. 24 hours is necessary? I am getting ready to try and find a laser printer but they cost a pretty penny for someone who is on a limited income. I just sanded a cutting board the same as your Ice Cream Churn board. I am about to print a graphic reverse of course. I have matte mod podge. 24 hours is necessary? I will reply tomorrow after 24 hours. I will reply with results 🥰
You don't have to wait 24 hours. It just needs to be completely dry. Sometimes I use a hair dryer to dry it faster if I don't have the time to wait overnight. You should be able to use an inkjet printer as well. No need for a laserjet.
Yeah I haven't been able to get it to work. Tried spraying a sealer on, waiting 24 hours. Didn't work.
Ive wanted to try this method. Is it possible to use a pink eraser? Or rubber thimble? to save fingers!
If you use something other than your fingers you risk pulling off too much and getting into the ink. I haven't tried it so let me know if you try it and how it works for you. Thanks for watching!
Can these be used to put food on. Not cut on but just use as a food tray
The paint isn't food safe so I would say no unless you maybe put some parchment paper under it.
@@AHandfulofDaisiesDIYwhat if you seal it with beeswax
do you seal your old cutting boards after applying stencils
I do seal my cutting boards. Since these are just decorative, I used a matte Polycrylic. Thanks for watching!
How did you print the images with writing backwards? 6:24
Hi Marilyn. You can reverse an image or wording by selecting "Mirror Image" from your print option.
I can't seem to sell any cutting boards
Cutting Boards are a slow seller for me as well.
@@AHandfulofDaisiesDIY it's funny what will sell in different areas because I hear some crafter saying that they sell them as soon as they make them
