Hi Barb Ann, I started decoupaging napkins on card stock with Mod Podge about 20 years ago adding Martha Stewart butterfly punches and very fine glitter. I have Mod Podge napkins onto tin water vases and other materials but I have never tried it on wood nor to my amazement ever thought of it. My mom passed away July 2021 and cleaning out her kitchen I found beautiful cutting boards with handles I have not seen in years and assumed she threw them out or sold them. I am currently living in a sea of boxes since I moved out of her house into my little home. Somewhere the cutting boards are packed away. I definitely want to make these. My mom and my favorite season was and is Fall. She often called me her Fall Baby and spoke of pushing me in my vintage carriage (1963) thru our town which was only 3 blocks wide in the countryside of NJ. I already have on hand orange and white buffalo plaid ribbon. I work long hours during the week at my job and I work every Saturday but, I believe your craft has spurred me on to try and get some umph and drive in me this week and work on unpacking. I have gone from a nice single family home to a very tiny 510 SQ FT apartment. I cal it my Giant Shadow Box and I have tooooo much in here and I am so overwhelmed. I gave up tons of my belongings to keep my mom's. She loved my creativity and I know she would be happy if I transformed these cutting boards into something cool. This idea is a breath of fresh air. Now when I go to the Goodwill I will be on the lookout for them too and maybe next year I can add them to my crafts to sell. Even though this video is from last year I hope you still see comments. Happy Fall! Sincerely, Rebekah in VA
Rebekah, I loved loved your comment! What a delightful read!! To know that I inspired you is a driving force for me. Sounds like you are a sweet, creative sould your mom would be proud of!! I'd love to see what you create!! Blessings.
So sorry for the loss of your mom! My husband also passed last year and I know what you mean about moving into a small apartment and not being able to take everything you want to take. My apartment looks like a storage room, bins everywhere! What town in NJ were you from? I live in Parsippany and wish I didn’t but my children are all here.
Thank you for this video.. it is so much appreciated! I tried HTV vinyl and it just didn't work... and they are gifts, so I needed another way of doing this on my mini cutting board. This will be perfect! Thank you sooo much!
I love these little cutting boards. So pretty. I would love to have a sample of your stencils. I have no idea where to get them i would be so grateful.
Hi Joni! I'm excited you'd like to try it out. I have a sample kit for $10 you can take a look at here: checkout.square.site/merchant/DG0CM94X11QNB/checkout/I5HRU44O36G3XDRYHQNKLQC7
I just love those napkins! I think black would be so dramatic and lovely as well as a brown stain. I’ve never seen chalk paste before and would love to check it out. How can I get a sample of the stencil? And are they sold in Michael’s, Joanne’s for quick purchase? I checked them on Amazon and shocked to see their cost!! I’d love to try the product because it looks easier than decoupaging napkins which, like you say, if not done correctly, can rip and bubble. I think the colors in fall are the prettiest colors of the year, so heartwarming!
I sell the Chalk Couture product and would love to get a sample in your hand for $5. If you go to my website at www.barbanndesigns.com you'll see a place to click to get your sample.

Those cutting boards turned out super cute!
Love Fall and Christmas! It is 2 years after your original video. Unfortunately, not on facebook. I am enjoying your videos, thank you!
Barb, your cutting boards & bead garlands are gorgeous!! I just got back into decoupaging again.

Use painters tape to seperate the napkin layers.
Where do you get the chalk paste and stencils?
Put a little Mod Podge on your thumb and index finger and tear at the corner
I put a dab of glue stick on my thumb and index finger and the layers pull apart very easily 😁
That’s a great tip!! 😊
Hi barb! Is there a way to seal the design so that the board is useable for a snack tray and such?
You could coat with dish save mod podge
Oh my goodness! So beautiful, I am new in your Chanel, how can I get a sample of the stencils?
