I saw a large bread board at Michaels for $100. I had some old wood in my backyard and I went home and cut out a very rustic large breadboard. Then I painted on a worn logo. Free!
The breadboards are BEAUTIFUL. I can even see putting a large one right down the middle of the Thanksgiving table to give heighth to the featured dishes!! We usually have our Thanksgiving outside with a very large table. 💗
If you shipped you would make a fortune! And if you were making a fortune, you could hire a shipper! 🙂 because I would pay the shipping to get your stuff to my house from your house. 😎
This video was about 4-5 hours ago... I was drooling over all these PHENOMENAL BOARDS !!! They are amazing ! I went to comment and it disappeared???? LOL!!! 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ LOL!!! Oh how I wish you shipped or I was near you! I am IN LOVE WITH YOUR WORK!!! Those are the type of “cutting/bread boards” I look for... and you make them! Beautiful...Beautiful.. BEAUTIFUL Julie !!!
Sorry. I'm still learning about RUclips. It kept flagging it as copyright violation but didn't say why. Finally figured out it was the music. Anyway, finally got it uploaded with no issues but took ALL day.
Julie you are amazing love love what you do you are so passionate about what you do you have given this Brit some ideas love watching your vidio love from the UK🇬🇧😘
Julie...... I got you some wax. Don’t fuss at me, just give me your mailing address so I can get it out to you while you wait for your local Walmart to restock. You have given so much more to me in the way of knowledge, techniques, and confidence, trust me, ITS THE LEAST I CAN DO FOR YOU TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION ❤️❤️
These are so rustic! No one would guess they were just made into bread boards. I think they would be perfect for charcuterie boards too. Love the pecky cypress so much!! We still dont have electricity after Zeta blew through. I'm sitting in my van charging my phone and so glad I got to get my "Julie fix" lol
Bless your heart!! Hope you get power soon.... I live near Ocean Springs MS and we had to " camp " for about 5 days.... I was REALLY tired of camping... plus I ate something that didn't agree with me and was sick in the dark one night... being sick is bummer but doing it by flashlight is even worse !!!! LOL
@@nyokasmith6611 I'm near the main airport in New Orleans. We were very lucky with this storm no damage other than leaf and tree branches everywhere. So lucky power was only off 3 days so I shouldn't complain. My freezer was still frozen solid when the electricity came back on!! I guess we were very lucky compared to previous Cat 2 storms. So sorry you got sick!! Hope you are feeling better by now
I watched this video and went out to dig through my barn wood stash. I found a big old thick, rough board that will be perfect for one of these. I am going to cut mine with a scroll saw. My scroll saw is a lot easier to control than our old jig saw. I love these. I think it is awesome how you shared with us about the old ladder. What a score that was, and lots of rusty pieces left over to use as decorative accents. You are a joy to watch.
That last piece with the spindle handle is my favorite. But, 😱 they are all amazing!!! We have 100 year old wood as well. Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Finally, someone who loves wood as much as I do. I am looking at a 4-ft long 2 ft wide 4 it's thick piece of bowling alley floor. I don't know what kind of what it is but I love it. That's my second one and I hope to get another. I love when I get a piece of wood with a live edge. You really can't appreciate things I thank you're very unique
You are a blast to watch! I always enjoy your unique approach to the items you make. Your personality it warm and FUN!!! Glad to see your subs rising!! Congratulations!!

love them all but my favorite is the one behind you that is small and have metal at the bottom and broken ends...yeah the one with the long handle....the plantation style...
i LOVE LOVE LOVE the boards! You are creative and talented and I can tell how passionate you are! You didn't ramble and I have been so inspired by all of your videos, you are amazing!
LOVE those breadboards!! Living in a very suburban/city area it's so hard to find things like that. I definitely need to search harder. I love your videos so far, you really get some amazing finds and have so much vision.
They are absolutely incredible!! I cannot pick a favorite!! The painted, and ones with mother nature’s touch to them are beyond!! You are truly gifted!! Love the way you leave the beauty of the woods “ personality “ alone!! That’s the greatest beauty of them all!!
Wonderful work, Julie. Love all your videos and the way you share all your knowledge. The sandpaper gets smoother the higher the number...60 is coarser, rougher than 100, 150, 220 or higher which is really smooth. Thanks for sharing!
@@JuliesDesignsandSigns no problem. You had so much to share in such a short time. I just wanted those folks that are unfamiliar to know. You do an awesome job and your passion is inspiring. Keep up the good work.
I’ve watched this before. And started watching again last night since I’m about to make some boards. I LOVE some of these shapes. The one at 17 minutes keeps catching my eye. I love that shape. And it’s soooo thick. I wish there was a place to buy old wood around here.
Julie, you are creative, amazing and an inspiration to women like me who are afraid to use power tools. I’m going to start off small and use a jig saw and give those boards a try. Also, you gave me a boost to go back to thrift stores. I found so many amazing wood pieces yesterday and i can’t wait to give them new life ❤️
I have been waiting on you to show us all how to make these!!!! So excited! I've been collecting bread boards for years....my mom even gave me a HUGE round one from England! That's my priceless one! Thank you, Julie!!!!😁

Oh my goodness, that's just what I love, can't believe I see so many and they do look really old. I've got very old wood. And it breaking apart, now I do know what I am going to do with it. It's just waiting for it. Thanks a lot. You are a Juwel. 💓. Stay healthy and happy bye from Yasmin. ✋
Oh my goodness. Thank you for sharing this idea. We have large boards that have just been laying around for years. We made 4 boards up today and they will go in our booth tomorrow. We will see how they sell before making anymore. By the way I'll be doing a RUclips on it and giving you all the inspiration credit you deserve. Oh.. PS.. I just started finding the Waverly Antiquing Wax again at Walmart. Fingered cross you find some soon.
Yes! I finally found some too. Was so excited! Hi. I actually been watching your RUclips videos lately. I'll look forward to watching the one on bread boards!
I love it i not want to be repetitive but your actitud is amazing!!! You just sold every single piece! I wish I can by like that ! 😬 you rock!!! Best wish. Maria
These boards are amazing! I also love the layered cracking paint style. An easy hack to recreate the look; white school glue (inexpensive Dollar store) a foam brush and paint a layer of glue on your wood (thick=large cracks & thin= small cracks) on the WET glue add your paint layer and seal it once its dry. As the glue dries your cracks will appear. Try it over sealed wood, or over a painted surface then add glue and a contrasting color. There are so many surfaces it works on. Beautiful boards, new subscriber love your videos.
Super cool pieces! I think it would be cool to add some leather to them! I do a lot of wine tastings in my Tuscan style home and would love a super long one for a Charcuterie Board! Great job!
Thank you for all your AWESOME ideas. LOVE the breadboards. Because of you, I'm trying my hand at breadboards. 😁 I've only made a couple so far. Haven't tried selling any yet. Just wanted to say thank you for your inspection. ❤
I agree with you 100%,picked up some round wooden plates from a carboot here in the UK use them everyday. The bread board on your chair thats the one i would buy that would look great in my house.Great video thanks.!!!!!!
Love love these!! I make my version of these, too. My "sealer" is a food safe oil. A lot of my customers use them as bread boards..cheese boards..charcuterie boards..cutting boards..etc. Also used for decor! I use whatever kina wood I can salvage, tho. No Cypress in this area of BC Canada that I know of! I really really love how you add the old metal parts! I may hafta give that a try. For my own, if nothing else! You are truly inspiring!
I don't think that it matters what kind of a sealer you use on a board that you have put a non-food safe staying on it's not going to ever be food safe I'm not absolutely sure about that but that's my guess
