Title: “Back on 74” Released: 2023 Artists: Jungle (a London-based electronic pop soul band) Song theme: Nostalgia and nostalgic memories of a fictitious place called 74th Avenue. Title: “Message in a Bottle”. Released: 1979. Artists: Police (British rock band), Sting (lead singer). Song theme: A castaway on an island sends out a message in a bottle because he is lonely and alone. Ren’s video features Sylvia Mwenze, Scarlett Fae and Kai Lacey.
This was another brilliant ReNtake. Just Ren doing Ren things. Crazy runs and harmonies, filthy bars to remind us that he is also still a cheeky boi, and that voice that’s perfect for Sting/The Police songs. Ren has music in his soul and pours so much soul into everything he does. We’re just lucky to witness it 🐰🕳️ Also unfortunately Ren hasn’t done any full on metal. Yet. He has said on stream that he would like to at least do some nu metal someday. Until then I think the closest we get is maybe Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.
There's an old MV by a younger Ren when he was still ill fighting his Lyme disease, when the doctors still didn't know it was Lyme, It's called "Crutch". It reminds me of something Sleep Token might perform, style wise. It starts out as a piano ballad but in the last 1/3 of this track Ren starts to shred on the electric and gives some metal level vocals. You guy's should check it out.🔥🤯✌
Ren and his band the big push do The Clash, Guns of Brixton, its not metal but its different to alot of his stuff, its a busking one done at night you might enjoy that ❤ from the UK
I enjoyed your reaction to REN’s old school vibes. His homage to Sting/The Police was spot on. There’s nobody doing what REN is creating out there, not even mainstream. I can’t wait for him to do a Jeff Buckley retake. Thanks!
Guys the first part is a song by Jungle called “Back on 74”, I’ve start listening to the band Jungle and it’s nice stuff. Then there’s the Police “Message in a bottle”. You’re welcome.

Your new intro was really cool! Great reaction to this song. A song I'll suggest that's Rock with a punk vibe is "What kind of Woman is This" this is a live recording not busking on the streets, with the Big Push. Ren has so many influences in music that it is hard to pick out which one he sounds like. Some of the Rock ones are, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Rage Against the Machine and more.

Others may have mentioned... but he has a video called Crutch... with Bibi... it's got a bit of this and that but also rock/metal in there too. It's surprisingly haunting and beautiful and deep.
You need to do “Lost all faith” by Ren. It’s got a blend of rap and some rockish vibes in the chorus. It’s one of my favorites of his, I’m sure you guys will dig it! Also “Fire” by Ren has rock vibes
Hello les gars très très bonne réaction c'est la, meilleur version pur chef d'œuvre REN est unique artiste complet et sa voix me transporte très loin.. Merci infiniment 💖🙏🎸🎶👍👏🎵🎼🇫🇷
The Big Push release from a couple weeks ago "Heart Attack" is a blast of swampy blues-rock that easily could have come from '74. Would make a fine reaction. v=aBJmZ51VgNM
I'll give you guys a 1 up on uk music, we have a massive influx of amazing peoples from the Caribbean and it's directly influenced al parts of our culture, including music. Which will in small part explain Rens cadences
Guy on the bass is Ren's friend Kai. There was a BTS and Kai ended up sitting down because they were in a tight corner and some of the shots or positions would've been tricky.
Also Have you watched ran in the big push busking live of I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/hip-hop? Amazing another side of Ren? What can he not do??? You mentioned the slight sound of Jamaican vibe in his voice. You are absolutely going nuts listening to his pure reggae vibe!❤
That's what's so special about Ren. He's very in tune to what's been missing from music these days...and delivers! He's a rare gem. A multi-talented gem.
Here's a short clip of behind the scenes/rehearsals for this track he put on his instagram ruclips.net/video/gYScobd-04c/видео.html Only Ren could continue working and creating whilst having an IV Drip in his arm!! Dedication :)
Highly recommend you check out Jungle. This song and its original video are part of full length musical short film. It's incredible and I only just check it out yesterday.
Fantastic reaction, gents! Enjoyed your edits as well. 😉😜 I can't get enough of this track, been on repeat since it dropped. 🔥🔥🔥 Big luv to Kai and the ladies, Sam on camera. Chef's 💋
Ren is magnificent ! He is more than anyone else Ren is a legend . Money Game 1and 2 you have to see and Money Game 3 is brilliance ! His emotion touches the heart if it doesn't touch anyones heart they never had a heart to begin with. Ren is a genius he is fantistic . Put on Jenny ,Screech and Violet which belongs on broadway it is a masterpiece ! O My woman is so good ! Ren is the greatest artist of our time and he is beautiful inside and out. Ren is an amazing story teller also Put on Right Here Right Now Rens work is the best ! And Message In A Bottle is great.
You commented on wanting to hear more of a Rock-N-Ren. Underrated song from Freckled Angels album titled,- FIRE-, is what you should check out!! I promise, You won't be sorry!
The original song, Back On ‘74, came out last year in 2023 by the British band Jungle. The US has been sleeping on British music ever since it let big business take over the its music industry. Now all you get is Taylor Swift. You should check out more UK artists coz they’re still keeping it real.
I realize this comment is vey late, but the first thing I noticed was the shirt, and said to myself “where do I get one of those!”. 64 year old (young?) gamer here, and massive REN fan.
Last time I stopped by your channel, you were trying to figure out if NF or Ren was a "better rapper". I look at Ren doing songs like this, and just kinda chuckle at the question... there's genuinely not any other current musician I know of (not that I'm an expert) that touches on as many genres as Ren does, especially as well as he does. This track is so much fun! BTW, you mentioned the Rat Pack... Ren does a WICKED impression of Frank Sinatra. 😎 It's sort of boggling tbh.
You guys may be in luck with Sublime.... Ren's latest round of retakes has been 1 Easter egg in the song which leads to the next song... Fred again had something that hinted back on 74, back on 74 mentioned Nas, Nas retake mentions 'rest in peace mac', which led to Mackay, & in the Mackay video (instrumental) he is wearing a sublime sweatshirt!
It wouldn't be so bad if you actually rewound a few seconds after each of those many pauses, so that you didn't miss anything but you either didn't rewind, or rewound half a second. You can do it however you like, of course but you're missing some of the best lines and best transitions by not doing so.
Guys, there is no need to see if you can break a record for pausing. I am trying to like the channel but literally pausing every 2 lines robs you and your viewers. Seriously. It will have the same impact waiting. Take advantage of the luxury of an independent artist that supports reactors so you don't have to pause for copy write. The creators that pause the least have the largest audiences. that isn't coincidence. this reaction was beyond frustrating because as much as I like you both I had to unsubscribe.
I understand where you're coming from but it actually takes away from the artist. The full version should be watched on their channel. We are here to just have fun and give our thoughts.

Check out "Murderer" next. The official video first but he has a sick acoustic version of it too with a whole different vibe that you'd love.

Love the Clash and TBP cover is so good
Oh and my Dad used to live in Brixton when the song was made
The Police are one of his biggest influencers 😊
I'd never heard of Back On 74, but knew Message In A Bottle. Love this soooo much! Love his rap in the middle ❤

Listen to Ren's "Fire" off his CD Freckled Angels it's semi rock on think.
I think they'll love Fire!

Enjoyed the reaction. You may want to check out "Ren - Crutch ft Bibi" for some heavy vocals :)
The Oregon Trail game. I played that game 1989 in seventh grade
Great take fellas, YOU missed the Message switch with the riff at the start of the second verse... Sly Ren slipped that puppy in there.
This song is definitely influenced by Plan B! It's got similarities to She said! Ren often mentions Plan B as someone he looked upto.
Wow. First time I've seen an Oregon Trail design shirt. Gotta get one for nostalgia.
Ren - All my life (FooFighters Rap)
ent been no good backup singers since Bob Marley and The Wailers
