Charlie, your style of info delivery is great! doesn't sound like you are reading. You sound effortless and really knows the content of the words. doesn't need the scripted wisecracks to be entertaining. hope it is infectious to other reviewers
Amazing review Charlie, technical, understandable, serious without being boring, nice video shots of different angles,i liked the fact that we see you drive the car from the back seat, really,a review based on the type of car,not about grocerys and practical side of it,its not a minivan, its a sport car,and you my friend did the review the way its meant to be.Plus no words about cup holders!!!hahaha Keep going with the fantastic work sir!
Nice. I thought Ross and Emme had perfected road tests and sharing information. It seems to be the standard at Roadfly, not an exception. Well done. Thank you.
Many thanks RoadFly, great review. I've always loved the TT, and this little rocket has a pound of sugar with a cherry on top. Love that sound this puts out. Considering the success Audi has been having, 120,000 cars seems conservative.
When I first started watching I really wanted to not like this guy...but he did a very good and thorough job with this car. I would agree with having more from him. Well done!
Are you sure about that 50/50 torque split? Every other Audi with a transverse engine, including otherTT models and even the previous TT RS, have a front-biased torque split.
@airsoftrocky It has the fixed rear wing as a standard feature, removing it is an option so you could get the normal spoiler like on other TTs. Although I love Audi but that's kinda of a stupid thing to do, putting the spoiler as an option for RS and standard on others.
I'm happy to see positive reviews for cars I'm interested in, but how about some negative points too? I mean, no car is perfect and let's face it I'm sure this TT RS has some drawbacks. And if I'm going to spend my money on something, I want to make an informed decision and be able to compare different cars. Thanks.
@liptonx Thanks! It has been a long time since I've been on camera. I've been super busy trying to build RoadflyTV so I haven't had the time needed to get in front of the camera. You'll see more of my reviews in 2012. Stay tuned because great things are coming in 2012! More reviews, more fun videos, more track videos, and we might just pit a tank against a Jeep or test a ZO6 against an F16. :-) -Charlie@RoadflyTV
it was just a wild guess man. however, audi is also VAG, and revenue like that is not generated when you engineer every part from scratch for each type of car you build.
Although its a great gesture from euro manufacturers to bring over their low volume cars here, its not enough. For example, models like the A4 and A6 have diesel variants not to mention several different choices of transmissions. That is something I would like to see because not everyone wants a performance version of a certain model line.
@itsVolatile An automatic with paddle shifters is awsome like Ferrari, Porsche, Challenger, Camaro,2012 BMW 650i & 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I could go on but you get the point.
I know exactly what my routine would be when I get into this car if I owned it: 1) Turn on 2) Buckle up of course 3) Turn on Sport Mode 4) Turn off Traction Control completely THEN YOU HAVE FUN!!!!
Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I appreciate it. 2012 is going to be a great year! We've got lots of great things planned so stay tuned! :-) -Charlie@RoadflyTV
When some people say Audi's understeer some of that is driver error they are driving it like a 2wd car when if you drive a 4wd car that way it will push badly! In a 2wd car you early apex and unload the car and shift inertial weight to the front wheels and use that grip to go through the turn! On a 4wd car you enter the turn hot and late apex with the car fully loaded then off throttle on apex and the car pivots then on power pull through the turn! A front one way diff help that on a 4wd as well
2 problems with this car: 1. its platform is based on a vw golf and 2. it has 4motion not quattro. that being said, im sure its a nice car to own and drive
America doesn't get a lot of the best cars, like many of the RS models. You are correct. However, the cars we do get come standard with many of the very high-cost options that europeans have to pay extra for. Also, we pay around $30K+ for a base 3-Series, in europe a 3-Series is much much more expensive. I've read of people spending close to $100,000 USD on a non-M 3-Series. So I'd say that we've got it pretty good :)
Base price of the TTRS in USA: $56,850 Base price of the TTRS in Germany: $75,954 Base price of the TTRS in Netherlands: $103,980 Base price of the TTRS in Norway: $204,359 I'd be fairly happy with the limited choice in exchange for the low car prices you guys in the US have.
My absolutely favorite car, bar none, straight from the heart, at the 0-80k price range of course. Can't wait, hopefully next fall when i graduate it will be mine, but they are so rare and hardly brought to the U.S. gunna have to go searching for it
@coolvideo28 ok, but what is your point? are you saying that manual cars have nothing, i dont know similar to paddle shifters? YOU have to make a better comment so. Paddle shifter, its accually not automatic. and im not immature because you have problem(or you dont know) to change the third foot switch.
@BloodyHawk39 You put together an awesome list but i'm tellin' you... you gotta put the Boss Mustang on there. It's an incredible machine and offers the most fun anyone can have for under $40k. I promise you won't be disappointed and will forget all about it's lacking interior when you put your foot in it. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
@GR8ISH8 3 series does not equal TT, Audi has it 3.0 Tdi which is a 250hp engine! in that's unlike the BMW 35d which is a 3.0 engine aswell uses only one turbo (unlike the twin turbo for the BWM). tuned version of the 3.0 Tdi goes easly over 300hp and 500ft./lbs
Most bering person on the planet to review such a rocket of a car...
Charlie, your style of info delivery is great! doesn't sound like you are reading. You sound effortless and really knows the content of the words. doesn't need the scripted wisecracks to be entertaining. hope it is infectious to other reviewers
Another great review. This guy and Emme are the best of the group.
Amazing review Charlie, technical, understandable, serious without being boring, nice video shots of different angles,i liked the fact that we see you drive the car from the back seat, really,a review based on the type of car,not about grocerys and practical side of it,its not a minivan, its a sport car,and you my friend did the review the way its meant to be.Plus no words about cup holders!!!hahaha
Keep going with the fantastic work sir!
Audi! it was about time!!! i love this car! And this was a great review Charlie! very informative, yet not boring. i like your style.
Nice. I thought Ross and Emme had perfected road tests and sharing information. It seems to be the standard at Roadfly, not an exception. Well done. Thank you.
I could listen to that exhaust all day, everyday.
I really like your reviews charlie, very informative yet still entertaining.
keep it up dude
Roadfly should use this dude most of the time on their reviews.
Great production quality guys, also very informative!
Ive been waiting on a 2008-12 audi tt review online that was good. Finally!
The performance figures and power to weight ratio speak for themselves. Efficiency, class, and beauty!
best reviewer at roadfly no offense but he should be the only one
Many thanks RoadFly, great review. I've always loved the TT, and this little rocket has a pound of sugar with a cherry on top. Love that sound this puts out. Considering the success Audi has been having, 120,000 cars seems conservative.
This guy sounds like he did his homework. Good review!
When I first started watching I really wanted to not like this guy...but he did a very good and thorough job with this car. I would agree with having more from him. Well done!
"...to hear that 360 horsepower, 5 cylinder roar." That is like a kitten trying to roar...absurdly cute, but not in the least bit intimidating.
Great production value! Good job.
GOOD REVIEW...keep it up guys cant wait to see whats next
GREAT REPORT - you covered all the bases - keep 'em coming : )
This will be a prefect car for my wife since she kept on wanting to drive my A5.
i love that car ;) and now its in my garage :D but the tt rs plus
Nice looks, nice sound, nice specs..
you didnt tell how it handles under hard driving. is it responsive and well balanced like a 1m coupe or does it understeer like an rs6?
I love this review! keep it uo Charlie!! you're doing great :D
More of this guy reviewing please!
It sounds almost like a V10, that 5 cylinder engine is a beast.
Are you sure about that 50/50 torque split? Every other Audi with a transverse engine, including otherTT models and even the previous TT RS, have a front-biased torque split.
Great review! very comprehensibly done.
Love the sound of that 5 cylinder turbo! Sounds like half a Lamborghini V10 =)
Excellent review. two thumbs up
@airsoftrocky It has the fixed rear wing as a standard feature, removing it is an option so you could get the normal spoiler like on other TTs. Although I love Audi but that's kinda of a stupid thing to do, putting the spoiler as an option for RS and standard on others.
@coolvideo28 What's the point of buying any Audi RS model if you're going to get it in automatic?
Charlie fantastic review.
about 370ish but thats comparing apples and oranges because of the turbos and tricks those small engines use.
I'm happy to see positive reviews for cars I'm interested in, but how about some negative points too? I mean, no car is perfect and let's face it I'm sure this TT RS has some drawbacks. And if I'm going to spend my money on something, I want to make an informed decision and be able to compare different cars.
Thanks.
Nice review. How does it do on track up against BMW M3 etc?
Wow, good sound from a 5cyl. Deeper than I would've thought.
I love the 5 cylinder sound. Does anyone care to speculate on any future models Audi may put this engine in? I'm hoping for a U.S. bound S3.
Very nice review. Makes me want to go out and get the tt.
Excellent review! kept me very interested and I never said that about an American car guys!
Really sick review!
charlie!charlie!charlie!charlie!charlie!charlie!charlie!!charlie!!!!! have to admit you are more informative and clear.
great review and great car.
Hi Charlie
Comparing this car to 370Z; which one would you pick and why - pros and cons?
Best regards!
@liptonx Thanks! It has been a long time since I've been on camera. I've been super busy trying to build RoadflyTV so I haven't had the time needed to get in front of the camera. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
so, how did it actually ride handle and drive?
very nice ! sounds and looks really good !
@sakil21 800 percent is steep. are you in iceland or somewhere
i'm in love with this car. thanks.
*in a drab monotone voice* This is one of the most exciting cars...
they should bring rs6 to the states ) it's such an amazing car

this car..... is AMAZING!!
APR is working on a Stage 3 600HP kit, apparently you can get tons more out of that engine. ;)
Great review.
@TheEryk03 No it sounds quite similar...the 4.2 V8 sounds totally different. This is basically a Lamborghini V10 cut in half but is mostly different.
Those strait 5's sound quite good
I know exactly what my routine would be when I get into this car if I owned it:
1) Turn on
2) Buckle up of course
3) Turn on Sport Mode
4) Turn off Traction Control completely
THEN YOU HAVE FUN!!!!
Nice car and review.
where are you guys in michigan?
Just wait for the 2013 TTRS plus!
those are saloons though. i mean a sports coupe like the db9 or vantage or xkr.
@SweetHubby82 Doesn't this have a 2.5
@zafir24 Look @ the s7, s8. Those are big saloons that compete with those cars you;ve mentioned. not the tt-rs.
Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I appreciate it. 2012 is going to be a great year! We've got lots of great things planned so stay tuned! :-)
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
well I could see the VAG group just cutting the 5l V10 up to reuse parts for the TT RS's 2.5l inline 5 ;)
i thought the tt-rs had the fixed rear wing?
What a beautiful car and I would love to own one.
WRX Owner
no rain today?
that car sounds amazing!
What a gorgeous car....especially in RED!
RS badge back on TT?! It has never been on it!

@zafir24 uhhh thats what the r8 is for. TT-RS competes with the cayman, 370z nismo, m3 coupe, and c63 amg.....
great review! Exhaust note sounds like a v8
Got news for you fella: Northern Virginia is many thousands of miles away from Audi headquarters.
2 problems with this car: 1. its platform is based on a vw golf and 2. it has 4motion not quattro. that being said, im sure its a nice car to own and drive

"...if you want to hear that sweet 2.5L 5 cylinder roar..."
That is a meow at best.
What is the intro song called?
My absolutely favorite car, bar none, straight from the heart, at the 0-80k price range of course. Can't wait, hopefully next fall when i graduate it will be mine, but they are so rare and hardly brought to the U.S. gunna have to go searching for it
+Braden Rikli (BrayZap) I got a TT FSI 09 few weeks ago. Now I can't wait to get the new TT RS in the nest 3 years when the price drop :)

How do you become an automotive journalist?
@TheEryk03 Have you heard the RS5's exhaust note? It puts the Mercedes C 63 AMG to shame !
It sucks that the TTRS only has the 6 speed and not the DCT
@BloodyHawk39 You put together an awesome list but i'm tellin' you... you gotta put the Boss Mustang on there. It's an incredible machine and offers the most fun anyone can have for under $40k. good review
My god, I thought my Speed3 was fast! 360 bhp is a beast! Who can handle that much power?
This car is so beautiful! Aghhhhh.
That little button controls the traction/stability control, not just traction. Sadly he is not the only one to make this mistake.
I LOVE THAT CAR !
@rockingdrifter17 Thank you!
-Charlie@RoadflyTV
Nice! Sounds similar to the S6 V10.
i love it , so beautiful car
I want to test drive cars. Looks fun :)
