I have the books and have read them. I love her story.
Wonderful!
I love this. I wish they were still here. I love watching all of Little House on the Prarie episode's. While watching them it feels like it is now and i wish I was there with them. Been watching the show on tv and it is going to end tomorrow, October 4th, 2019. On Oct, 7th 2019 they are going to start showing reruns of Highway to Heaven staring Michael Landon. I will watch the reruns, but i will miss Little House. My favorite. :)
What beautiful books to take us back in time to see life through Laura’s eyes and make us part of their experiences. I absolutely love this!
Thanks for watching, Diane!

Who is the descenfant of Laura Ingalls Wilder that is still present toda? In the year of 2020?
There are no descendents of Laura Ingalls Wilder.Laura gave birth to a baby boy in 1889, but he died 12 days later.Laura's daughter Rose gave birth to a baby boy too, but he was stillborn. So there are no descendents of Laura Ingalls Wilder. No descendents of Charles and Caroline Ingalls.
"No people. Only Indians lived there."
In the first edition of Little House on the Prairie (first published in 1935), Laura wrote: “There the wild animals wandered and fed as though they were in a pasture that stretched much farther than a man could see, and there were no people. Only the Indians lived there.”
It is hard to imagine how the original wording made it into print. Seventeen years later, someone wrote a letter to Laura pointing out the implied suggestion that Indians were not people. Laura admitted that it was a “stupid blunder” and authorized a change in the next printing.
Based on the full context of Laura's life and work, I do not think she considered members of native nations to be less than human. However, the Little House books, since they are based on history, reflect the complex relationships between native nations and settlers of European descent. We cannot erase or ignore the past, but we can choose to learn from it.
@@notgrasshistory It was probably psychologically helpful a mindset when you knew you were living on somebody else's land. It alleviated the sentiment of guilt.

Read these books as a kid. I might read them again. Loved them.
Thanks for watching our video!
I remember reading her books as a child, starting with Little House in the Big Woods, of course. I absolutely loved them.
They are great books. Thanks for watching our video!
Shame on the library for erasing her name off of the award.
I often wonder why the show had them stay in walnut grove. I mean I get it for tv purposes but it would’ve been interesting to depict their life as it actually happened.
One thing about Laura Ingalls Wilder writing those books she let us know what was that like live in that time it's very interesting seem what life was like in that time we come a long way since then how much live in life as a goal long how everything life changes
Laura´s books reached many children in the world. I related the challenges her family faced with my family difficulties in Brazil, her parents were as dedicated and wise as mine and her words helped me and supported me during my childhood. They were my favorite (and most of the times my only) Christmas gift. The power of literature!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
This story books are the very beautyfll.i love this story 🎀🎀💖💖💖❤❤❤😘😘
Glad you like them!
I am her fan.
Thanks so much! My class of third graders is reading Little House on the Prairie during this time of quarantine home learning and this video clip is a perfect companion to our study.
Awesome! This makes us happy, Catha. We are so glad you found our video. Thank you for continuing to encourage your students during this difficult time.
Who recommends the books? And are the books both true and fictional? Any info appreciated! And where can I buy them! And was Laura a feminist?
Hi, Ashlee. The books are based on what Laura really experienced growing up, but she does change the order of events, adds some things, and leaves out some things. We think the books are worth reading!
Laura would probably not have called herself a feminist. But she and her husband Almanzo worked together as partners on their farm, and she had a successful career as an author, even before she published her books. You can purchase her books anywhere books are sold: littlehouseontheprairie.com/about-us/little-house-on-the-prairie-books/
Her books narrate her life story as she grew up with her family till she married Almanzo. I think great part of what she wrote was the real facts. The books were written for children, but I highly recommend them for any age. I never tire of reading them. I wish there were a life story such as hers here in Brazil.
Only read them like 1000 times

Í have all the books. Read them all. Love the story of her life.
Freddy?
This short biography doesn't tell everything about her life! If you want more detail, we have created an online unit study: shop.notgrass.com/slides/laura-ingalls-wilder-unit-study-23
I read these books over and over again as a child and young teen. They had a huge impact on me. I've been to several of the museums. Mansfield and DeSmet are especially great.
It's a shame the library association (whatever its formal name is) decided to rename the LIW to something else simply because Laura wrote from her own time period and expressed the ethos of her time. Bad decision, IMO.
Thanks so much for sharing Sally. We love LIW - so many good lessons from her life and books.
❣️❣️❣️😍
Thanks for watching!
But Carrie already was in Laura’s first book when they still lived in Wisconsin🤔
Good catch! The books don't exactly follow the timeline of the real Ingalls family.
Amazing.
Thanks for watching!
