All of us int he crowd really did get hyped to see Ryuichi hit a clean freestyle! Congrats to Ryuichi on hitting such an amazing freestyle and for placing 2nd!
It's kinda a meme in the yoyo community that the second place routine is usually better than the first. Yamato Murata 2016, Bergen 2017, Takeshi 2018, Evan 2019, and now Ryuichi 2023. Mir definitely deserved the W but this routine was crafted better imo which makes it way more memorable
For competing so long with more than a decade of stage experience, I am very happy to see a major award for Ryuichi he stayed under the radar the entire year , then pulled this off. Respect 👏🏻
Might be my favorite 1a freestyle ever. This performance was so powerful, especially in Japan with all of the support of his friends.
