Filled with too many familiar faces and a buzz of complacency, many players doubted Mir could ever land his insane tricks live. He beat it. All of it. The doubts. The players. He clutched it all in his hands. You can feel his power and emotions with every move. The finger point. The fist pump. His pop off at the end. Even what I thought was a random spin around was actually insane Michael Jackson like gliding. Mir is a Legend. He changed and inspired all of us with 3 minutes of magic. 99/100 to judges 999/100 to my soul Thank you Mir. Truly a miracle to the world, and God’s smile upon yo-yo 🪀.

This freestyle is so ridiculously ahead of the game its insane. Maybe even more impressive than the trick difficulty is just how insanely clean he went. This is simultaneously the most technically difficult/risky and cleanest routine in finals, which is ridiculous
Yeah the entire time I was watching it on the stream, I just kept thinking "no way that lands, it's gonna snag" but then he somehow landed them all flawlessly
2:22 something about that insane over the head toss into an Eiffel Tower man.. so, so many risky moves and he nailed every single one. I mean.. he scored a 99. NINETY-NINE! Once a scoring system gets maxed out like that.. you know it’s changed forever. This freestyle absolutely moved the ceiling up a mile of what’s possible in competitive throwing.
The thing that Mir does so well is how he nails his AMAZING tricks back to back so as the crowd cheers for his combo then he hits a 4.0 hook and makes them run out of breath cheering. Watching this live was the best decision I’ve ever made
Mir is really a prodigy and I can't imagine the amount of practice and preaparation he did for this. His energy on stage with all the movements on this freestyle is just insane..
And he did this at 15. 15 years old. Holy shit, how did he even get enough practice in at that age? The little homie really does have a skill level that many have taken 15 years and still got no where near.

I've heard about Mir Kim so i had to witness him in his master technique in yoyoing. He's the god level for sure and for many years. The amount of difficulties was mind-blowing and every movement was precisely executed to the highest degree. I've never seen anything like this in all these years watching. People don't know how hard these horizontal tricks are. You have to first master the verticle spins! Mir Kim is untouchable King of yoyo. He will win every match.
The pacing of elements in this freestyle truly highlights his competitive knowledge and competency in execution. The horizontal combos in here are a pleasure to see. I think we have many years of excellent Mir freestyles to come that we are all looking forward to watching!

I agree about the classic joy and energy, and why everyone loves it, but it definitely WON because it did the best within the points/judging system. There's no way around that. This freestyle is amazing in pretty much all aspects of how these contests are scored -- Everything from the brilliant energy & showmanship to the technical innovation & ridiculous hook tricks are getting him points here. It should be understood that this freestyle fell short pretty much nowhere... to the point where the specific way it was scored almost feels irrelevant. It's just a stellar performance, which means WE don't have to care about how it succeeded in the points system. That makes it truly delightful to witness.
언젠가 요요가 올림픽 종목이 되기를 기원하며 16년도에 처음 봤던 미르가 벌써 월챔까지 진짜 요요가 이번일로 큰 시장이 되면 좋겠습니다. It's a great effort that Mir, who I first saw in 2016, has already become a world champion, hoping that yo-yo will one day become an Olympic sport. I really hope that Yo-Yo becomes a big market this time.
Even if it doesn't make it to the Olympics, as it's unlikely, the national governments of yo-yo players that perform well should be given financial support and the sport should be given support and acknowledgment.

I think a reasonable model to start off with is for the government to grant funding to the national yo-yo governing body, who then uses it to organize domestic events and to pay for the flight tickets and hotel rooms of players who qualify for Continental and World championships. If players do well at those championships, the government should give those players funding too for their achievements. The increase in quality of the domestic events and the achievement of their players' performances in international tournaments would also bring sponsors for the domestic events and for the players. Cash prizes can then be offered for the winners of domestic events.
