    Camping off-the-grid in a teepee is easy with the BLUETTI AC200L power station and solar panels. It was a challenging location due to the short amount of available sunlight each day. Larger solar panels or a sunnier location would have allowed for a full charge in less than a day. This technology gave me the opportunity to spend more time doing the things I love outdoors.

    Instead of searching for the meaning of their lives in what makes us humans, most people are intoxicated by a materialistic and consumerist life. It is amazing to see a fellow human enjoining a simple life and able to survive with only a few basic things. In Japan countryside, when I tell my wife that I enjoy sitting in our backyard just looking at the trees in the distant mountains for hours, she doesn't understand what is funny about that. And I cannot really explain to her. But surely Chad can totally understand. Thanks for the vid. Take care

    As Russian, I thumbs up for the Ushanka! 😁Nice video! I have an experience of living in a very big house in winter, that had no heating for 3 days. The temperature inside a house dropped to +1/+5 celcius, the steam was coming out of my mouth. I was covered in layers of clothing, but when the cold is constant it does not help much and also I needed to work on the computer, so the hands were really freezing :D. The only thing that really helped during that time - is food and some excersises. When you eat a lot, your body really heats up, you can feel it and for the next 2 hours after having a meal you will feel warmer.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, that is so true. My fingers get cold and numb and it is difficult to work. That's also so true that eating a lot of food gives you calories to burn and that helps keep you warm too.

    Since you had no fire inside, you could have stuffed the smokehole with a rag, put a horizontal liner at head height, and lower it for sleep, rather than allowing body heat to flow up through the top smokehole, especially with mountain breezes.😊 I would have steamed the fish in the rice pot. Dig a divot in back/low side for urine, or make a pee pot. Is the panel too heavy to hang from the tipi? Easy to rotate it around to follow the sun's path, being angled just right to absorb light. I don't know how you'll pull that copper rod 4' out of the ground, nearly impossible by hand.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  6 месяцев назад +1

      The canvas material of the teepee has very low insulation. Covering the smoke hole really wouldn't have done anything. I didn't even have time to finish making the teepee. I would have liked to do more to it before I came to this place but I was just so stressed from long days working and getting ready for this trip. One thing a lot of people fail to realize is that I wasn't doing a "survival challenge" for this video. It was simply to show real experience and results of this power station setup. So, I wasn't trying to show expert survival tips or something like that. For instance, I don't even own a sleeping bag. A cold weather sleeping bag would certainly be more efficient, right. Steaming the fish in the pot of rice is certainly a great idea to conserve energy but I also wanted to see how much energy I would use by running both burners. The panel wouldn't be too heavy to hang on the teepee but look how wide it is. I would have had to make a frame to hold it all straight and all that. Plus that is rather unattractive to look at. The teepee looks nicer without a massive solar panel hanging on it. The copper rod was rather easy to pull out. I hammered it into the soil of a decayed tree trunk hence it was much softer ground and I pulled it out by hand without much effort.

    An idea to help conserve power for when you use the unit again or another model. Upgrade your incandescent light bulb with an equivalent brightness LED bulb, they use like less than 10% of a traditional incandescent bulb. That would surely save a ton of battery draw in the long run.

    I love your primitive videos but I really like these kind of videos too. You should think about doing more videos where you just go out and camp for a day. Take a tent or whatever, maybe a couple tools and food/water. But it's more about relaxing. Enjoying nature. Not saying you don't enjoy nature in your primitive videos. But less work for these videos I guess. Idk what I'm saying lol anyway, great video. I enjoyed it! Keep up the great videos!

    Does your adobe brick hut hold the heat better than this cloth tent? Maybe covering your cloth tent with layers and layers of pine boughs, and closing in the top opening, will help hold in the heat coming off of your body and electric blanket also make a mattress of pine boughs. I'm enjoying the mountain wilderness theme vids. Your demo using the Bluetti AC200L and how simple things like a hot plate, a light, a very small heater, a heating blanket and a tiny computer use up its charge with the time it took each is the best realistic usage demonstrated I have seen that depicts real usage not just a demo that only shows "if I plug this in it will run it. It is drawing yada, yada watts" end of info. Also demonstrating what it takes with 4 solar panels, in the sunlight available, to recharge it and how long it takes. Even their website and vids aren't this thorough nor informative. Thx for doing this and sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍 You're the best Chad.

    I’m glad to see you in a different setting more like mine. I love seeing the blue etty being used and I want one myself. I’m from the great white north and soon I hope you can test the etty in the snow!! Great TP btw! I think if you want more sun light for the panels you may need to go higher up like that hill you can see your TP from. I’m sure it was close enough to the stream cause you can see the TP. Thank you for doing your best man! I appreciate everything you post.

      Doesn’t exactly when that way. An opening at the top was used with campfire in the teepee so smoke could escape. Some heat escapes too but not all of it.

    At first I thought this was an hour-long commercial for Bluewater, its performance was lacking. Chad, if you see the stove element glowing red, you're wasting nrg. Also, the light wasn't a LED. Electric BLANKET is great user.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  6 месяцев назад +3

      I had the stove at the lowest setting. It's a cheap electric burner and was the first time I used it. The point of the video was to show a practical experience using the power station. A lot of people will not camp in a primitive way like I usually do. But there are other options for people to bring comforts of their modern home with them. In this case, because I spend so many hours on a computer editing videos it's nice to know that I could leave the city and camp out in the desert and make that my office for a few days and edit out there.

    With all the sun the solar panels worked quite well, but what if clouds had come into play? I´ve heard there are small wind and even water generators for camping on the market, but I guess these are rather new compared to solar.
    Any chance they would show up some day in your gear for a test run?

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  6 месяцев назад

      Clouds did come on the last day. It still charges but much slower. I probably won’t be doing any more tech reviews in the future.

    What kind of temptations do you get from society? Do you crave food, comforts?

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  6 месяцев назад +1

      Obviously we all need food to live but I don't crave junk food. I just crave wholesome food that gives life. Off course I think we all crave a comfy bed, or a pillow, if we are sleeping outside on the ground. If we are walking ten miles a day and our feet hurt then we crave an Uber ride. It's all relative. Those that have low tolerance of discomforts will crave more easily.
