Guna is my favourite 😞 I didn't watch it in theaters when it was released. By chance happened to see it in college hostel TV room almost two years after it was released. It had a profound effect on me 😢 For nearly two months i was wandering aimlessly, staring at the sky or roof, mumbling 'abhirami abhirami' as i walked head bowed downwards. I even hallucinated that a pretty gal like abhirami would come into my life 😔 My family got worried as what had happened to me. But the situation cleared as gently as it had come and i returned to my normal senses😊 Such was the effect of Guna !

Hey ram, Anbe Sivam, Utthama Villan, Guna - all these movies are not only classics but even after watching so many times, it is still fresh to watch. Hey ram - 30 mins purge of all the mumbai scenes with Vasundra and srirangam scenes would have helped commercially. anbe sivam - all the scenes with Uma Riyaz were unnecessary drag. alavandan - Movie would have worked even without Kamal/Raveena scenes. I would rank Hey Ram, Guna, Anbe Sivam, Raja Parvai and Virumandi in that order. One aspect of these movies were how he was able to get such a performance from other artists in those movies, whether it is Kiran in anbe sivam, or vasundra, Rani K in Hey ram, Madavi in Raja parvai, abirami in virumandi. Who can forget Paci Satyha's character in anbe sivam. There is no other star acctor who gives so much space to other artists to perform. Only secure actor in his/her own talent will do it like Sivaji.
