Whenever these LA influencer foodies make videos I enjoy it but they’re always apologizing for using butter or msg or plastic utensils, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them, but it’s SO nice to see someone who cooks like my mama. 😅
Agreed! It’s great to cook healthy and not use plastic, etc. but it’s not realistic for most people who have limited time and budgets! This is coming from a health nut. I’d love to be as clean with my food, but apologizing for not being as “pure” as possible just creates shame for those who can’t. If the meal isn’t uber healthy, make it taste good and feed the soul like it does here.

There’s this Italian restaurant called Bravo that has a lasagna with Alfredo sauce and I’ve been wanting to make some kind of recipe from scratch like that. I think I will try this, maybe even as stuffed shells.
I made this two days ago but I layered it like lasagna. One layer of Alfredo spaghetti, sauce, mozzarella then another layer. I didn’t add quite as much sauce and I’m fortunate to have a local store that makes awesome marinara so I used jar. My son didn’t love it but I sure did. I cooked the spaghetti to el dente and it finished in the oven absorbing some of the loose sauce.
For those that dont know and are curious, kr want to knkw what it is to buy some yourself, thats elephant garlic she was holding. Its a massive type of garlic that produces heads of garlic that give cloves the size of one smaller/regualr head of garlic. Some folks say it doesnt have a difference in taste some do. I cant speak to it myself, i havent had any of it. One clove of that garlic does chop down to around 3 or 4 bigger cloves.

when using canned tomatoes, end of season tomatoes, or tomatoes that haven't ripened you add a pinch of sugar to balance the tartness. otherwise you don't, but if you still do that's your flavor and your home. ❤️

Add a teaspoon of corn starch to the sauce. It'll take out the acidity. I do that for my husband who gets really bad heartburn from tomato sauce.
