Thank you so much! I wasn't listening in AP Maths when my teacher explained this because I usually use synthetic division, so I'm super grateful that you explained this! :DDD
this is almost asmr to listen to 😂 I wanted to remember how to factor a fifth degree polynomial by hand and this was the last step... and a cool additional technique to the synth division.
Thank you so much. This video is quite useful. To me it wasn't hard to understand. But I believe it would be better if some steps were explained more in detail for those who need extra support in the basics of math.
@@Mathematical-Mind I assumed that they took the number of nonpowered x (Including kx as k is a yet figured-out number) and used it to find k because k needs to be figured out
What if the values for K is different for x and x² ? Suppose x³ - 6x² + 9x for factorising. If that polynomial = 0 than the values for K comes 0 and 17/2 respectively. So I put both and try to confirm?

@@JungKookOfficiaITry this new method: k = [(d/-root)-c]/root Example: 2x³+x²-13x+6=0 a=2 b=1 c=-13 d=6 By trial and error: ROOT=-3, so: k=[(6/3)-(-13)] / (-3) k=5
Hi Daniel. For a polynomial with the highest power of x being 3, there are a maximum of 3 x intercepts (there are sometimes less). Unfortunately, we do not have a way to solve for all 3. There are only methods of solving for 2 of the 3, which is why we have to guess 1 of the 3 at the start. The other method shown on the channel also requires the first x intercept to be guessed.
Hi Danial. If you have a calculator that has a table mode then you can guess all integers between - 5 and 5 while only inserting the function into your calculator once. After you have a factor then this method can be done quite quickly. I hope this helps.
After the kx it should be positive 3 not negative 3.. 1 will divide 3 not -2... solving it with a calculator your signs interchanged comparing it to the calculators answer..

Use the function feature in your calculator to find the roots

Nice! We are already discussing it in integral - partial fraction, yet I do not know what this method is called. Thankfully, you are here!

wait no, this is completely incorrect. This doesn’t always work. Smh

k=[(6/3)-(-13)] / (-3)

that's not a cubic polynomial function that's trinomial algebra. (correct me if i'm wrong)

What if there's no x term? What if it's an expression like 102x³+30x²-450=0

what was the point of assuming at the start? You can't just assume a number and get an answer

Once you have one root (and thus a factor), it's simpler to just divide.
