I've stayed at Flipper Lodge a couple of times. The last time I was in Pattaya (before Covid) l ran in the Pattaya Marathon in July. The starting line was literally 1 minute walk from the hotel (on Beach Road). The price is good but the breakfast was excellent. Much, much better than I expected. Lots of food to choose from. I'd just finished the race and was exhausted when l returned to the hotel for breakfast so perhaps my judgement was clouded! They really looked after me regarding guest safety too. A security guard sat on a chair by the lift and 1st floor stairs to take joiners' ID cards and wouldn't return them until checking with the guest. In terms of location it's perfect for the bars and beach. Sailor Bar across the road is fantastic too. My room was a bit run down, no balcony, view of the rear of run down buildings outside the window. However, I'd definitely stay there again. Apparently there's a new tower and an old tower, which hadn't been renovated yet when I stayed in 2019. The renovated part is more expensive and has sea views. For price, a newer hotel, and a feeling of being close but at arm's length from the noise of bars l always stay at the April Suites. It's my default option in Pattaya. Unfortunately they don't offer breakfast there though.
The Flipper lodge & flipper house really were the places to stay around 10/15 years ago! The soi was really busy every night & girls used to drag you out the taxi before you even checked in!
the 5th day test is 50 bht, its this taxi, hotel and test on day1 at over inflated prices which is putting people off along with the ridiculous thailand pass and insurance which isnt worth the paper its written on
i stayed at flipper lodge on my first trip to thailand back in 1991,,also stayed there another time in 2005..great times in this hotel. location is stones throw from beach rd.
Thanks for mentioning the smoking .have seen this hotel before and wondered so appreciate you showing it .as always a great video and hope these hotels realise the good you do for them .
Looks newer inside than l thought. But I would expect it to be very noisy at night. But 2nd hotel room with sea view is a great price! Thanks for your hard work doing these vids!
The Weekend property is a really good find for.. well a weekend ;) Those chairs look cool but I imagine not very comfortable.. and no love seat, sofa, or even easy chair to relax in. Nice layout and view.
First one are better for the roof top pool but second have nice view and room are more comfortable, if i had to choice take the second. Nice vlog again thank you ❤️🇹🇭❤️
At the moment , i think LK PRESIDENT 3rd road near soi lengkee , is a super deal too. 1100Bath for huge room , discounts if you stay one week and do some negotations. Worth to visit and make a vlog , many would be intrested . But , "The Weekend" is a very good deal , and near the sea , IT'S A WINNER .. Thanks for updating us , I love this series .
I have not stayed there but I was impressed with the Whitehouse on Sio 13 for 10 days in 2019 great value good rooms cleaned daily and with breakfast for $56 Aussie a night would stay there again when I return hopefully end of the year
Great to see more hotels - mid price hotels is in general what I am looking for - however I like my night sleep very much so based on experience then I would still look at soi 10 (stayed at Page 10 before and I loved it) - next time I will try to look at something in the 3rd road area like for instance MAXXcity or MAXXcentral. But really openminded to hear more about options in the area (just a walking distrance from soi Excite/Soi Chayapoon/Lengkee)
Great video Daz and two great hotels.can you show the other flipper hotel on soi 7 .flipper house.I stay there most times and really recommend it.i stay in the mini suite or the junior suite very nice and great value.and the great thing about this hotel as all rooms have balcony’s.thanks again and all the best regards damon 👍🏼
i stayed at the Weekend over Christmas and again after new year 2022 year 800 baht a night, checked the flipper out but no balcony, best priced i stayed was Mike beach resort Soi 4, also stayed at the Jomtien Thani. thanks
I have stayed in Flipper Lodge many times back in the 1980's after seeing it again I wouldn't stay there again at that price. Would it be possible for you to show the Sunbeam especially the suite room on the top floor, I last stayed there for 5 months in 1998 when my son was born there. I hope to return to Pattaya in the near future so looking for somewhere to stay. I did like the Areka Lodge that you showed. Thanks. Regards. Glenn.
I like all these hotel videos, especially the mid price ones. I watch them all but always end up staying at the same hotel. Hoping you dont feature it but its always booked out anyway.
i stayed it the weekend when it was tweet tweet, in that room 56 on the first floor, the rooms are great but the bed which looks to have been improved was rock hard. great place to stay but i think a pool is needed in any place i stay
Curtains ! Great !! Bar fridge and jugs for hot drinks. Good place along eith its cleanliness. Breakfast for 2 ?? This means they expect you to have a guest overnight ??
My hotel of choice in Pattaya is 'The BJ Holiday Lodge' on soi 3. It is owned by an American guy, and has been for many years, it's kept in immaculate condition, it has a pool, nice restaurant, and the owner 'BJ', actually has a soi in Pattaya named after him, soi BJ of course. 1,200 a night, defo worth a look.
Hi daz I used to stay at the lek Hotel and the apex Hotel both on 2nd road. It was a long time ago but they were both good. A d had great all you can eat buffet could you maybe review those and give a price update, thanks
I like flipper lodge great videos they are helping m out I’m coming for 6 months in November I will Greer you out me out a one bedroom condo a round the soi buakhao.many thanks
Soi7/8 was always a preferred area for me, short ride up to the 6 & the same in the opposit direction to LK. Would be interested about a Suite Room in that area.
Always like your stuff. Just a quick question. Why do you think that going into "crappy, pigeon English" helps your being understood by someone who speaks poor English. And why would any hotel in Pattaya have someone working at the desk who cannot speak reasonable English?
You have completely misunderstood what I do, I do not speak crappy pigeon English, I speak English using Thai SYNTAX, which from 20 years of speaking to Thais, I know is much easier for them to understand, also, many hotel receptionists have a very limited knowledge of English, especially in the cheaper hotels.
@@everythingPattaya I dispute your contention. I know many poor English speaking Thais here in the US, because after all essentially no Thais make an effort to learn proper English, and have found that understanding is not enhanced by pigeon English; simple words can be incorporated into proper English. I am also amazed that texting in proper English has never resulted in the Thai person picking up on correct usage. Hell, I have learned more Thai phrases here in America than Thai people have learned from me, with their obviously having the need to communicate better in this country. I slip into pigeon English often. I hold at that it actually does no good. Again, I love your stuff and am just pointing out the results of my personal, insignificant study. Bottom line, communicating is a bitch with people who smile and indicate that they understand when in fact they haven’t a clue.
The thing I struggle with on these rooms is price when compared to renting for a month 10-12k per month rented versus 30k ish per month in a hotel. Horses for courses naturally, but 18-20k is a VERY nice evening out (or in). convenience, security and location may well be worth it for many.
Yes, totally agree, hotels are really for tourists who are unfamiliar with Pattaya, when you get to know the place, you can find much better deals, for longer.
Flipper Lodge is centrally located but very loud at night. The food is very good. Look how paranoid the employees at the front desk. So sad their government makes them.
No pool is a killer for me I stayed in the sibi da lodge beside hotel built like a ship it was great hotel and cheap it did the job I sept at night time and I was out by the pool in daytime I also stayed in the leck&villa hotel it had the best pool I ever seen in a hotel it was hard to get a bath bus to it was a bit out of the way
I am enjoying these. It's looking like 8 months and I can apply for my SSI and start the money flow from my investments and saving's so these do help. because I am going to be spending 6 months each year in Pattaya.
Hi, thanks for. your informative videos! Checked on Agoda for The Weekend hotel, and on the site, its says Only registered Guests. Does this mean that the hotel isnt guest friendly?
hi Mate, i been going to Pattaya since 1980, usually 2 x every year for 1 month each time, now in later years i go with family, wife has been many times, we love TQ, seen many changes over the years, now take the kids too, 15 and 18, Pattaya and all of Thailand has something for everyone, ok so usually stay at Hard rock, but have been to many others including flipper, i would like to suggest how about looking for places for a family, 2 bed, like a suite setup, or 2 rooms that join so family's like mine can have 1 room for 2 kids and 1 room for us joined, and of course a pool a nice pool with atmosphere, its hard to beat Hard rock, great pool lots going on, some hotels i been to have a nice pool but no atmosphere nothing happening buildings looking down on you etc, hardrock is great but it gets expensive paying for 2 rooms there, side note any news on when unvaccinated can come back ? we want to but my family is unvaxed, Tony
hi sir is 7 days premium hotel opp Beverly guest friendly no extra charges can u pls find it out i wanna book from 14 sept not able to contact them will be very thankful sir
After 20 years, I have found that 90% of Thais only have a basic knowledge of English and appear to understand more than they actually do, they just nod and smile but don't actually understand, especially if you speak using tenses etc because the Thai language has no tenses or conjugations or declensions, or inflections, it is very simple, so if you speak English using Thai Syntax, it is much easier for them to understand, a simplified form of English. Thai words do not change form with gender, person, number, or even tense.
Stayed at Flipper Lodge many times. Perfect for newbies coming to pattaya.
Like the second hotel with sea view. Having a balcony with a nice view can make all the difference in my opinion.

I like the older style hotels, especially those hidden away a little. Those are still a lot more expensive than my favorite places though. Thanks Daz.

3rd Hotel: Shower seperate from toilet area. A winner for me.
Pattaya is a much nicer vacation spot than bangkok right?
Can you do flipper house ?, junior suite or mini suite pls
Can you please ask each hotel if they have smoking in room or on balcony.
As they say that on internet it's a no smoking hotel
You can smoke on any room's balcony
If only the tweet had a swimming pool
1st Hotel: shower curtain, jug, bar fridge = comfort.
hi sir is 7 days premium hotel opp Beverly guest friendly no extra charges can u pls find it out i wanna book from 14 sept not able to contact them will be very thankful sir

...kind of like the cheap rooms better
Please do some pet friendly hotels and especially condos thank you also are there any bars for gay girls (lesbians) in Pattaya. I
Before covid there were a few Tomboy bars but as with many bars here, they have yet to re-open.
Its wise that you don't smoke as it causes cancer and other health problems.
I’ve heard about that before.
Why do you speak using only nouns and verbs when speaking with a Thai national who speaks English.
