  • Rencontre / Begegnung- Brian Eno mit/avec Ron Arad. ARTE France, broadcast date: 17 May 1993
Encounter - Brian Eno with Ron Arad
Designer and architect interviews Brian Eno about music production, art etc. The conversation is in English with French hardsubs.
There is no officially released material incl. (except a few seconds of the Eno video clip `Ali Click`).
Please noticer that this special starts off in a somehow washed out b/w. This is (since it is an `art` special) intended and no sign of old age video tape. It later changes to colour and back again to b/w.
Probably the best part best part is, when Brian Eno explains how he pissed into Marcel Duchamp's "Fountain", which is basically a porcelain urinal which Ducamp chose at random and subsequently exhibited in the MOMA in New York.

The best thing of Eno interviews is that no matter what question the interviewer does (whether it's redundant or silly) Eno is always comprehensive and well-spoken which makes any of his interviews valuable.

Love his views on cultures and people coexisting, particularly toward the end. His story about The Fountain was funny too. Great video!

I would give anything if I could converse with Brian Eno for just one single hour. I get him. I don't know how I could have not encountered him until now.

Ron Arad's questions are surprisingly naive and obvious. He seems to be overly concerned (and judgemental) with 'rockstars' and the 'elite'. Yet, his design/products could only be afforded by the rich and (often) famous.

Feeling sick when not working...would you feel sick if you worked as a slave for no pay? If you were paid to think and thinking is considered work , would you feel equally guilty? "It is art if I say it is.I think therefore I work." I have been a worker since conception.
