    I'm sure Alicia would've turned out just fine but she shouldn't tear down her husband just because she wants to present herself as successful. And FHI (For Her Information) she got a job at her father-in-law's firm and is living in a house her father-in-law paid for. She absolutely worked hard in her life, but who is she kidding thinking that she did this all by herself?

      She probably feels defensive because certain people tend to gaslight and throw stereotypes, such as generalizing a group to be lazy, unmotivated, not intelligent, wanting handouts, etc without seeing people as individuals. We don't often talk about people with family legacies that get ahead and have fewer qualifications than she does. It is probably why she had a hard time in the corporate world; perhaps they were uncomfortable that she was actually defying stereotypes and decided to go extra hard on her in recruiting. Subconscious and conscious bias reins true even today although people will deflect, be dismissive, gaslight, and be in denial about it. I guess I understand since I closely relate to her experiences. Even if I didn't, I would be open-minded enough to try to understand without finding ways to just refute or be dismissive.

      I get what you say but she is objectively correct.
      Paul is a nepotism baby loser at life.
      He was given everything to succeed and ended up a loser and a nobody.
      Even when he tried to get a job he got rejected by all
      All good trick a nepobaby would normally give like tricks about economics or give the kids contact for his future wouldn’t apply here since he has none of it

    Can someone explain to me how bow’s mother went from being a gorgeous dark skinned black young woman to being a gorgeous (very) light skinned black mature woman ?
    Just asking ? 😬

    • @Obi-Wan_Kenobi
      @Obi-Wan_Kenobi 3 года назад +39

      There's no good in-universe explanation. The writers of Blackish just cast a light skinned actor and the writers of Mixedish decided they didn't care about continuity and cast someone with dark skin. Why they made this break is anyone's guess.
      Maybe they really liked the actress for Mixedish regardless of skin tone. Maybe they wanted as much contrast between Bow's parents as possible as very dark skinned woman married to a white man is much stronger contrast than a light skin women is marred to a white man. And maybe they wanted this contrast to be clearly presented in Rainbow because, to be honest, if a very light skinned woman and a white man have a kid, it is very possible the kids won't look mixed at all and you can't have a show about being mixed when the kids look 90% white.
      I really don't know if the choice to break continuity was deliberate or it the just didn't care about continuity enough for it to influence their casting. Regardless, they cared about the casting change more than continuity and that's why they decided to override the way Bow's mom looked in Blackish.

      @@TheJoker1886 How is asking a very simple and logical question "being pressed"... If you had a movie with Daniel Kaluuya playing a younger version of Terrence Howard, wouldn't you be asking questions ? So why are you acting like I'm saying the moon is made out of cheese or something ?
      Never said neither one wasn't black but black comes in many shades and that diversity is a strength not a a weakness we should pretend to not see.

    The gospel by which we're SAVED. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV)(1) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL (good news) which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain (self). (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED for our SINS according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN the THIRD DAY according to the scriptures.
    READ, UNDERSTAND, BELIEVE (from the heart by FAITH) and be SAVED
