Thanks for this fantastic video, doing this job on my 3rd Gen 4Runner and this gives me a great idea what to expect. FYI RockAuto sells the OEM Koyo bearing under an SKF part number BR4117 for around $25.
Oh sweet! Hopefully it will help someone out. Couple other part numbers someone might find helpful: 9030168003 is the O-ring for the diff tube (mine was still ok but rather be safe than sorry for leaks), 0029501281 Orange Toyota Differential specific FIPG. And on the off-chance someone else has issues with the E14 bolts that hold the tube on stripping out (hint use heat lol) 2x 9010712001 and 2x 9010912029.
@@timothyallen3027 you are the hero of this video! I love it. ordering those bolts now as they are a bit boogered up on mine. One was actually missing so I assume that vibration over the years had loosened one and that weakened the assembly allowing for all the damage to take place. The clutch housing grenaded. Broke into 4 pieces.
Dang that's crazy the whole clutch pressure plate flew apart! I have a 5VZ stick too, clutch is original at 231K, maybe should replace just as preventative maintenance...How many miles on yours when it went and do you know if it was the original clutch?
@@timothyallen3027 Sorry, what I'm referring to as the clutch housing is the part of the ADD tube that houses the ADD actuator . I may be using the wrong terminology but I could have sworn Toyota called it a clutch case or clutch housing.
I did ECGS bushing for the driver side and it's solved the vibration problem but now i have movement at the passenger side cv axle, my question is changing this bearing will solve the problem or there is an other niddle bearing inside the tube has to change also with ECGS bushing?
Thanks a lot for making this video. I always wondered how to replace that diff tube bearing and now I know. Great job!
Thank you, Timmy!
thanks for sharing im into that job on mine and was wondering how to !

I'm glad you liked it. Dude, that's half the cost! Great tip. I'm going to add that part number to the notes. Thank you

No needle bearing in the ADD tube. Likely your bearing which is the bearing shown in this video has play and is worn out.
