As someone who played Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally 1 with a controller before getting a wheel, once I tailored the settings to my liking and learn to keep the car pointing forwards eventually your nerves and courage are a harder cap than the fact that you're on controller. To be WR fast though is going to be a tall order no matter what you're using.
It can be done, the only benefits of the wheel is force feedback and increased precision. A controller is just as fast as a wheel, albeit MUCH harder to be consistent on@@tatskamaster

You're on point there. My first few runs were just to feel the stage and see where I'm hesitating and where I need to focus on specific turn in points and what not. The stage is very bumpy at 180kph, so it's more about commitment in certain areas rather than car setup.
