- These were the years where the motorsport of rally really saw fast paced evolution within cars, as well as driver skills. The cars were beginning to get increasingly rapid, to the point where the drivers had mentioned they simply cannot keep up with the vehicle’s performance. Vehicles that were turbocharged and supercharged (some cars were both turbo and supercharged) were known to reach unspeakable numbers nearing the 1000bhp mark on over 5 bars of boost, near the very end of Group B .This unfortunately lead to fatal accidents, car manufacturers began pulling out of the rally class leading to the ultimate demise of Group B. As for many, this era of motorsport truly remains within our hearts and is remembered as the golden age of rally.

I choosed this video by random, i just wanted a good music to listen too while i worked on a project.. At first, i just didnt care about the sounds in the background. But when i heard the cars, i couldnt resist but watch the entire video. What a good time, i wish we had more of this intense cars!

i like how audi make the quattro from the ground up to be a rally monster, while pegueot over there be like "let's pick the smallest car and put the biggest turbo we can find" lol. imo pegueot 205 t16 is the scariest of them all
Umm, it was closer to the opposite :D Quattro was still very much based on the regular, road-going Audi 80/90, while 205 T16 basically had the lamps in common with the regular 205. T16 was mid-engined!

I was into simulator drifting some time ago, i was not so good tbh, then i started to only and only train drift listening eurobeat almost every day, then one day i was just going to school in the bus and i thought "my eurobeat playlist rn would freaking rock", so i put it on my bluetooth headphone, after this i started to hear my heart accelerating and my hands started sweating a lot although it was very cold.
So basicly the point is, i heard eurobeat so many times in adrenaline situations (drifting) that just listening to eurobeat gave me an adrenaline discharge, so i started using this as advantage in sports (volleyball and soccer) and my friends started saying that when i put my headphones i kinda turn in another person.
And sorry if i said something grammatically wrong, i'm brazilian and my english is not that good.

For anyone wondering, the reason Group B was shut down was because of the inherent dangers that kept posing risk after risk after risk. One crash in one race was particularly tragic because, if my memory serves, 13 people (mostly spectators) died as a result of the crash.
The cars were so fast that the drivers often spoke of tunnel vision, and each team had a kicensed therapist travel with them because when mechanics would take the cars apart to service them, they would oftern find things like chunks of human hair, and in some instances, severed fingers.
The Death of Group B Rally Racing was almost the death of rally racing altogether.

The more it progresses the more bat shit insane it gets, and more you cry for its beauty. It goes and goes, and you want even more.
Group B is a monument to a time when racing was about racing and drivers didn't only fight each other but the strengths and weaknesses of each vehicle including their own. It only highlights how far motorsports has fallen since then.
You know that rallying is still like that, right?

Yes, the Quattro was unbearably quick and a marvel of engineering, but it was the lancia Stratos that really caught my attention. You had to a monster to drive in group B. But you had to be a psychopath to drive the Stratos because of its mid engine rear drive layout. I have nothing but pure respect for the drivers who drove the Straos

I'm 35 years old, group B is older than me, i never got to experience it, but i legit got goosebumps when that M1 showed up
Im 25 and my dad used to show me all sorts of clips him and his friends took. It was absolutely insane. Since he got hooked on drugs i havent been able to find any of the tapes since. There was hours upon hours

they forbade a whole legendary group of racing, instead of getting rid of the people standing on the side of the tracks.. 🫡🦧🤦🏻♂️
Fun? Fact, group b was one of the most deadly motorsports for the few years it was around, with people being right next too and in some cases on the track they have to jump out of the way sometimes, and the teams would find servered fingers on the cars sometimes
