My hubby has gotten me into some anime. I love Spy Family. I enjoyed Beastars. And there's one called The Way of the House Husband I think....it's funny.
I Watch anime and my all time favourite is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. It can be a Lot at times but I genuinely recommend it. Just don’t skip any parts and go into it blind as hell
A tip I find useful to making Japanese roofs less awkward is pulling the triangle roof piece in one from the wall instead of lining it up with the wall. It makes the triangle smaller and more balanced with the lower roof piece :) Japanese architecture is very stylistic and hard to do but your build is very nice!!
Ouran High School Host Club was the first anime I watched back in the day, it’s cheesy but only to really hone-in on the differences between the main character and the people around her! Its easy to watch while also having serious moments and I love it so much!!
For some one who isn’t really into anime/doesn’t know what they like (myself included) I would recommend Cowboy Bebop! It’s very stylistic and the music is amazing! I would also recommend Erased. Those are the two shows I’ve been able to finish and genuinely enjoy!
About anime Demon Slayer is amazing, and The Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime. Those are two of my favourites Regarding the build, just amazing as always 😘
Gonna apologize in advance for rambling 😂, but since you asked: my absolute favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, it's honestly on a league of its own, but there's many other action-focused animes I think you might like because of the artstyle, like Soul Eater (full of halloween vibes), Demon Slayer (which I didn't see but heard very good things about), or Akatsuki no Yona (it has some romance too). I also recommend some slice of life animes, more focused on comedy or romance, like Spy x Family (it's pretty trendy right now) or Re-Life (one of my favorites). Finally, I like some animes with artists as protagonists, like Blue Period and Barakamon, which might resonate with you and your beautiful builds ❤
I've been playing Planet Zoo cause I've been having Sims 4 build burn out so I decided to create building's and habitat's in Planet Zoo the only thing I know is this The bathroom in a typical Japanese home consists of two rooms, an entrance room where you undress and which is equipped with a sink, and the actual bathroom which is equipped with a shower and a deep bath tub. The toilet is usually located in an entirely separate room.
Fantastic build, as always! As for anime, I can definitely recommend a couple! Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (action, adventure) - classic, iconic, usually seen as the perfect “gateway” anime. The characters have western names (Edward, Roy, etc) so they’re easy to remember. The English dub is also regarded as one of the best. Fruits Basket (drama, romance, supernatural) - another great starter anime. Cute, romantic, funny. You’ll probably cry. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (action, adventure, mecha) - gorgeous animation, inspiring story, and GIANT ROBOTS. Very “anime” but once you get used to the over-the-top characters you’ll love everything about it. Yuri!!! On Ice (sports, drama) - the anime everyone watched in 2016. Super fun, easy to digest story, and like-able characters. I can list some more if you’re interested!!
A good anime to watch is definitely Demon Slayer it's one of my favourites! It has alot of traditional homes you could take inspiration from and the animation style is amazing!! But be aware if you are a very emotional person you will cry. A lot. Anyways, I would also recommend Haikyuu it revolves around volleyball but it's so good.
Some good starting anime are: Fruits Basket (yes if for young children - but it does a a few adults jokes in it), Inuyasha, Fushigi Yugi, and Black Butler. Just a few of my favorites.
i love your work, i think you will be awesome in trying to build a house that external is a classic suburban house and inside is japanese, like for a family that's originally japanese and moved to usa, it can be challanging but type of chaotic things in wich you strive

Omg I love when you build in mt komo! Japanese architecture is kind of like my THING and its obvious you put a lot of effort and respect into it. Also as for the pronunciation question you had, im pretty sure you pronounced the family name correctly but the given names sounded kind of... Off? Esp the father's? Totally no worries tho i just wanted to tell you that japanese pronunciation seems really daunting at first but its unbelievably consistent so if you tried to learn youd def pick it up no problem! Also also three anime series im high key addicted to are "My Hero Academia" "Assassination Classroom" and "Princess Jellyfish" sorry for ranting you just happened to hit all of my fav topics in one video lol
I like magical girl animes and idol animes generally idk I just like the transformations and the sparkles. Tbh i really haven't been watching anime much lately (last 6 years ish?) and I'm pretty casual but some of my favourites are: Magical Girl DoReMi, Cardcaptor Sakura, Precure (although I forgot which series it was), Pretty Rhythm (Only the 1st 2 seasons are worth imo, it's about ice skating), Mermaid Melody Pitchy Pitchy Pitch (mermaid idols), AKB0048 (Idols, sci-fi). Other anime: Ouran High Hostclub (school, comedy and romance), One Piece (it's really long tho wouldn't recommend but I like it, it's still going btw), kyoukai no Kanata (romance, supernatural and slice of life), K-ON (slice of life, school, it's about a group of girls making a band in school, cute), Detective Conan (It's still going so not really recommended?), Inuyasha (supernatural, romance, action), A Silent Voice (school, talks about bullying, heartwarming), Ano Hana (slice of life, talks about grief, heartwarming), Digimon (If you heard of Pokémon the name should be pretty explanatory). Movies: Kiki's delivery Service, La Puta (Castle in the Sky). Tenki no ko (I could be wrong about the name BC I'm bad with names, it's about a girl that can summon rain). Some of the animes have tropes that haven't aged well but I guess that it really shows between the differences in cultures and the like.
I think this one is a manga, I forgot if there was an anime adaptation but Iris 0 (not sure if the right name) is one that I liked quite a lot too. It's about a world in which there is a magic system that affects ones eyes, like come see probabilities, some see when will someone die, some see if someone is lying etc etc. I found it neat how the protagonist dwelved in a world in which the majority had powers and few were "useless". It was one of the 1st manga I read with that trope and it didn't feel annoying or too in the face about how discriminatory people were of the ones who didn't have an Iris (powers)
My favourite animé of all is Howl’s moving castle. The same creator did many like my neighbour Totoro and many more. I would check Ghibli studios if I was you. I’ve seen many of them and I’m just in love with them.
I also struggle a lot to build Japanese houses. To this day I haven't been able to finish a single house on Mt. komorebi T_T and since you touched on the subject, I'll recommend Natsume Yuujinchou if you like sentimental stories. It is not cheesy, don't worry. The story involves a human being able to see and talk to youkai, and that's why he was always ostracized by people. Deals a lot with loneliness, love between mortal and immortal beings, finding your place in the world. It is such a heartwarming and heartbreaking anime. Not sure if it is a good anime for starters, but...maybe you will like it?

the home is just beautiful. Japanese Roofs are always complicated to pull off. I do watch anime my top would have to be is def one piece but not a good choice for a beginner anime watcher. demon slayer my hero academia and even Inuyasha all fantasy types though. someone that is only 12 episodes that is really good is knight and Magic and the Saint magic power is omnipotent.
I'm not the biggest fan of anime but my first ever anime was The Rising of the Shield Hero !! i loved it sooo much and it's not too long so I'd recommend it

Bathrooms: the toilet and sink should be together so that you can wash hands. I guess the shower has to be separate because it's a more wet area.
