I’mJapanese. The exterior of this house looks like it was built in the Meiji era, about 150 years ago, but the interior is modern and very nice. It looks like my grandmother's house. Thanks for the great video.
@@Celeste-wh9ew And then I play in it and realize my Sims can't use certain items, so tweak it, then decide the kitchen is too small and make it bigger, which messes up egress to the dining room, which I fix only to end up having the stairs disappear, which means I have to pull the front of the house forward, which requires redoing all the landscaping, and then I realize all these renos have made a complete hash of the roof and....thank heaven there are builders like Jess on the gallery!
It’s the washroom THEN the W/C in a separate room.✌🏽☺️Usually, it’s an entirely separate room for bathing and washing clothes in a machine and then hanging the laundry to dry. We hang personal garments inside because there really are men that will steal your underwear. lol The sims won’t let you pick so you can cheat and just hang ALL clothes inside or go ahead and hang them outside since no one will steal your stuff in the game. Haha. The W/C is usually next door or just across from the bathroom/washroom. In rare cases, in my experience, there can be a BIG bathroom/washroom that has a W/C inside in a tiny closet sized room off in a corner, but I do not see those a lot.
i found your channel a few days ago and i can't get enough. you're so skilled at making gorgeous homes and incredible yards. they look so realistic to the point where i wonder if we're playing the same game. i'm in constant awe x ✨
HI! I'm a westerner living in Japan now. In my experience, the "bathroom door" opens into a small room with a sink(and laundry machine if the house has it) then from that room there is a door to the "ofuro" which isn't a tub as we typically think. The entire room is meant to get wet, the shower (like from the pack)is just a nozzle on a pipe attached to the wall and isn't separated from or over the tub (like I'm used to in the US) but to one side because they wash before soaking and only partially change bathwater to reheat it between family members. There's a whole hierarchy of who gets to bathe first, I think it's grandparents(multi-gen households are very common, usually living with the oldest son)>father>mother>kids in age order. Modern bathrooms usually have a rod to hang drying clothes or a place for a removable rod to slot in. Generally people seem to air dry or dry under their bathroom vent. I think only 2 of the houses I've been in here owned dryers. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure there is usually only one shower/tub per house. The water closet/toilet room will also have it's door attached to the sink area though my current apartment has it attached to the hallway just outside. Extra toilets are in their own closet with nearby sink or a sink built into the top of the toilet. The farmhouse and gardens look great!
Japanese wet rooms are the best kind in my opinion. You usually walk into the laundry/sink area and there will be a door off to the side for a toilet, and another door for the bath and shower. the room containing the bath and shower is usually completely water proof and is where they air their laundry on rainy days. some japanese toilets come with a sink above the cistern so you can wash ur hands with clean water, and the water goes into the cistern, to be used later in the bowl. I love japanese architecture. the only thing i would recommend next time, is japanese entry ways have two levels. lower is where you take your shoes off and upper leads into the house and the tea room is usually right there. it's only a step up, and platforms add a lot of dimension to the house.
Wow this build is incredibly impressive. I’m absolutely blown away by every build you make, but this has to be one of my favorites. The amount of detail and time you put into each and every build, and the storylines you construct are amazing. We all appreciate you, keep on building! ❤️
To answer your question about Japanese bathrooms, from what I understand the toilet is in a little closet by itself (some Japanese toilets have an attached sink over the back) and the bath is in a bit of a wet room that might also have a sink or the sink could be in the hallway outside the bathroom. The bathroom is a wet room because it is traditional to shower before you get into the bath so that you have clean water. I really enjoy your videos BTW. You have such a soothing voice.
Hello, I love your videos. A typical Japanese bathroom is normally layedout to where as you enter the bathroom, the first area is a sink area (typically a washer is placed in this area). The sink area then leads into two separate room; one room contains just a toilet; the other room contains the shower and bath. Hope this helps 😊
Your commentary is absolutely hilarious! Your rant about the gallery cracked me up so much! And this entire build is insane! All the details are incredible! You are truly one of the best builders in this community
I am in love with your creations, you are totally my inspiration, I can’t believe how quickly you make these homes, it takes me days just to do a room, YOU ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE SIMS 4 BUILDER, I LOVE your story lines too. Literally you need to be up there with Deligracy ect, you are so amazing , and Essex girl living in Cornwall, you still remain on our TV in the front room, with us saying wow wow wow. Thank you so much for your creativity ❤️❤️
I loveee this build 😍 I’m gonna play in it tomorrow with the storyline you came up with! The only thing I would say is that in Japanese culture they ALWAYS take their shoes off before entering the house & they have a seperate lowered platform before they step up into their house where they must take their shoes off, this is a respect & cultural thing & it goes for every entry/exit to the house from outside. This is why the sims added the ‘take shoes off’ & platforms with the snowy escape pack xx
Yes, the foyer in many homes, is the 'gen-kan' where you take your shoes off and it is definitely lower level so if needed you can sit on the platform and take your shoes off.
I full on gasped when this came up on my feed! So excited to play in this, it’s really inspired me. I love Japanese inspired builds but I’m so useless at making them. I really respect how you build in different styles, it keeps me coming back to your videos ❤️ You’re so talented, and the amount of work you put into play testing your work is so appreciated. Thank you!
I honestly was not expecting to be as enthralled by this build as I ended up being, what an awesome surprise! Your builds never cease to amaze me, Jess. Keep up the incredible work, I can't WAIT for your save!

the little table you're talking about, specifically, the one you've put down is called a Kotatsu. It's basically a table with a heater underneath that you can add a blanket made specifically for the table
I actually married my 2nd gen legacy matron to the teen of this family(they met in highschool their lovestory was adorable), you chose right, he has the snowboarding skill :)
This is astonishing, Jess! I'm putting my cow in my pocket and downloading it now! (I have a thing for Kyoshi Ito. I am forever making him marry my Sims.)
I love how much drama you can have in the Sims. I gave the Landgraab’s a pool boy and then I did the classic “mom is doing the pool boy”. BUT, the dad is ALSO doing the pool boy, and neither knows about the other’s affair. Rn, Nancy is pregnant and nobody knows who the father is🫢.
i might be wrong, but the situation of the bathroom/toilet depends on the floorplan mostly. usually, in the hallway would be two doors; one for the toilet by itself and one for the sink and bathing facilities. in other occasions there would be a door into the restroom with a sink, with two additional doors inside it for the bath and toilet respectively. and smaller apartments can also have all of them together in one. hope that helps. amazing build by the way !!
I'd love a build tutorial from you. Honestly I love how you do clutter/shelves but got no idea how you do it. I assume it's some mod which lets you free-place items on shelves. Have you ever thought about creating tutorials for newbies (like me) who would love to build custom homes in their games but don't really know how to begin? Even if I had to PAY you to teach me, it's definitely something I would consider...
bb.moveobjects, Sims 3 camera, you press and hold the alt key, and you can put them close to each other (if u are on pc, if you play in console I dont really know how to do it)
PLEASE put your builds on the gallery. They are adorable and i would love to move my sims into the house, and if they are on there how can i find them!!
Just - wow, dude. Amaaaaazing. And btw, this family hates another family in town, because they have different ideas about how the town should be developed or something. And the teen son in this family is in love with the enemy family’s teen daughter. Just FYI if you’d like even more drama lol.
Ohhh which family?! That’s got me thinking maybe there still is a feud between the parents, but the son is sneaking off to be with the daughter! The drama - I love it 🤣🤍

Have you ever thought about creating tutorials for newbies (like me) who would love to build custom homes in their games but don't really know how to begin? Even if I had to PAY you to teach me, it's definitely something I would consider...
Tutorials are something I want to start doing! I have a big old list of them for when I do start!
This is amazing I'm such a noob at building
How do you get objects to to be so close together in the same square ??
bb.moveobjects, Sims 3 camera, you press and hold the alt key, and you can put them close to each other (if u are on pc, if you play in console I dont really know how to do it)
👆🏼👆🏼
Thank you I didn't think about holding alt lol
i love your videos and i wish i could build like you :)
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning! You just got a new subscriber!
Thank you! 🤍
@@Jessicapie @Jessicapie You're welcome! I went on a rabbit hole all night, and downloaded many of your builds. XD
PLEASE put your builds on the gallery. They are adorable and i would love to move my sims into the house, and if they are on there how can i find them!!
They already are 🥰 My gallery ID is jessicapieyt, or you can search for the hashtags #jessicapieyt or #jessicapie 🤍
The drama - I love it 🤣🤍
Magnifique, tu es tellement doué 😍😍
