If Godrick had decided to graft runebears and lobsters instead of tarnished warriors he would have been the most powerful boss in the game
Well, there is this tiny hurdle of "actually killing a runebear/giant lobster with your forces" before he can graft them. Probably why he went for a (singular) dragon(ling), much more manageable.
But he can not win~
And the birds in his castle
and how is he supposed to kill them to graft?
FUCK NOOOOO !!!!! 😱😱😱😱
I like that the runebear is browsing for a replacement dishwasher at the end 🤣
😂😂
And like with all catalogues, there's the underwear section. Jungle camo!
And a replacement TV ! :)
Missed that detail!
rune bears are, and always will be, a pain in the ass and should be avoided AT ALL COSTS
Like lobsters
i daresay, the rune bear alone especially the one in Caelid is harder than 85 % of BloodBorne's bosses
Just hug them, stay super close and they miss everything. The instinct is to stay as far away from that bear as possible, but you gotta do the opposite and they are ezpz
@@imranrifaie8071 That one in the cave? It's best to avoid it but those at Consecrated Snowfield might be even worse, their health pool is insane
@@vfaprod6433 They still have that one bullshit "turn around 180 degrees in half a second and do a charge move instantly" trick. Oh and they can do that shit multiple times in a row, just to make sure
This man actually went back for the runes even after seeing the bear pull a shotgun out of its mouth.

Breaking into innocent bear homes, maybe we're the baddies.
Bears breaking MY innocent bones. Fuck moral nuance, they aint gonna have homes when im done.
Heh fuck bears, but those singing ladies in Siofra river, who just sing to whole bunch of pets and warriors alike... I felt REALLY bad for them, like psychopatic murderer
I'm fine with that, I've played all the game to steal bosses their clothes, I'm a total bully.
Eating their porridge, sleeping in their beds.

runebear could easily become an Elden Lord, he just don't want to. imagine the "Age of Bears" ending
Most definitely the ending I would choose.
I can easily see Radagon getting a Dutch rub from a Rune Bear
Rune bear pulling a shotgun out of its mouth is indeed very accurate they do that every time you decide to move a little bit away from them... It may look like a "roar" attack but that's some bullshit right there... roars don't one shot you in real life
Lol I had to rewind to that part a few times just to make sure I saw it correctly.
Not in real life, no. But have you fought a Tigrex in monster hunter? 🤣 (for real though the random ranged attacks of spite they gave everything on the off chance you manage to engage them from a distance is just like "come on guys...")

Sounds like a joke, but it's very likely to be true xD
You just gave them an idea for the DLC... thanks a lot. 😡
We made it through the double monkeys, we can handle this.

Guardian Ape vs Rune Bear is a fight I'd love to see
Three words: Fishing Hamlet Well
This reminded me of when I was exploring Deep root depths and I saw a waterfall thinking maybe there was a small room behind it. I immediately screamed and ran away since I was right but what awaited me in it was a pissed off rune bear that followed me throughout the entire area.
I was thrilled when I finally found the upper entrance to that cave, where you could just hop down to a ledge and cheese the beast.
Idk why, but the bear just stopping to check the mail gets me xD
The sound of wow mails on it. did anyone catch it ? xD
It's my favorite moment, especially when the protag tries to escape.
The slam dunk and the posturing afterward is the best.
Soooo wanna play Elden Ring?
Me:Hell no man they got bears slam dunking people and throwing them in dishwashers 😂😂😂
@@eldenlion5850 And they're equipped with *SHOTGUNS!!!*
To add insult to massive injury, beyond that one Rune Bear boss, every other Rune Bear you somehow manage to defeat 1.) drops a mediocre amount of runes and 2.) doesn't even drop any exciting item.
yes, they exist just to spite you and annoy you.
They are merely just normal animals mutated by the grafted dragon hearts inside their bodies after all.
There's _one_ in Deeproot Depths that drops a talisman. It's behind a waterfall. That's the only one in the game as far as I'm aware that drops anything notable (aside from the ones that rebirth from other enemies and drop a Larval Tear).
@@Armameteus and you can nicely cheese him from above with poison arrows (or your projectile of choice).
@Captain WARLORD yeah? I only found one of these traps in altus, but it was one of those big kitties, not a runebear.
Never has the Rune Bear been so simultaneously terrifing and adorable.
> You don't win anything on this channel
That's not entirely true. Just by watching, we win a lot of amusement from your amazing videos.
True, but the scam bots use to have fun things listed like "you won a PS5/Xbox" it was too obvious of a scam, I had reported them anytime I got the message from them. Evil things need to be forever infected with computer virus, worms, and trojans.
Looks like you got the scam spam, and it was deleted. Is this ironic or should I just go back to watching the video?
You win joy.
I'm happy he put that PSA out there because I was one of the ones told that I won something and told to use some app. It sounded fishy to me so I ignored it hoping I wasn't missing out. Glad I did😅.
“Let’s just throw in a massive bear because to hell with the players and their feelings”

Even the scarlet rot decided not to enter that cave. It was clearly scared by the immense power held by that bear
Clearly dude is leveling vigor, he took that entire beating without dying once....until the end.
This looks like the footage of a new game + mode with max hp
Rune bears are a living nightmare to me before and after I reached the ending
It was the worst moment of fear when i saw them for the first time. I was thinking "Wtf are these big things. Nah lets see how bad they are" and then i tried to ride away and my fear of them grew even bigger after I realised they are fastr then you while riding.
@@thefirstloser You're lucky. The first Bear that I met was the polymorphed one near the ruins where you find Sellen. I just wanted to kill that zombie, man... Instead I got the worst jumpscare of my life when it poofed into the bear...
You can’t win a fight against them and if you run you’ll get 3 on your face …
@@thefirstloser it's like in jurassic Park where they were driving and a T REX was behind them
I Remember when I First saw them during the play test of Elden ring. Someone had managed to get outside the White walls surrounding the starting area and found a forest. They found a few Bears and then encountered the First rune bear. I belive the only One in the game at the time.
No idea why the enemy would be loaded, but It was and It looked Easy enought to fight at the test. Also, everyone Who saw It thought It was a miny boss that would't respawn, becouse It was a single enemy and had a lot of health with strange attacks.
How wrong we were. Cut to months later, when I buy the game. I found the First one in the forest, still Thinking It was a mini boss, and so I decide to Just run and come back later since in the play test It was quite slow and I had runes. Lost a lot of rune that day, First getting run over on the horse then died trying to get them back. Out of spite, and becouse there was the big tree close by and I wanted to pass the area in peace I decided to kill It, took 2 tries and was really annoying. Still Thinking It was a mini boss, since It also dropped lot of runes for the area. Then saw the second One. I went back to rest to fight the second One, found out that the First One respawned. I decided It wasn't worth my time, so I tried to sneak pass the forest. Got run over a few times, by mistake even ended up in the ruin with the sleeping rune bear while running away from another One.
Never went there a again, until I found out 2 days later that Blaid was there and there was an underground area. Then I realized that only One side of the forest was infested (more than realized, I was insulting the Bears with my Brother and he told me only a piece of the forest was infested, he decided to let me handle the rest of the Road and didn't tell me anything else), so I went on the higher Path close to the Mountain, arguing with myself that on the other side there might have been crabs becouse It looked close to the Sea and being higher than the Bears was a good thing.
Found a lot of poison flowers, wolfes and a few skelly. Then learned there weren't crabs in the other side, becouse It wasn't that close to the beach, a lot later.
Anyway, never went in that forest again. I lead a friend there thought, It was fun seeing him scared of the Bears over discord. I managed to lead him to the elevator, Heard his reaction and then left the call. Good times. Except for the Bears.
😂 bear checking mail guy trying to escape bear roars guy closing the fridge door 😂 animations are top ❤
Consecrated Snowfield Runebears are actually harder than most of the game’s bosses. I’d rather swim naked in a Lake of Rot than fight them again…
The rune bear in that one cave in Calid where you're supposed to sneak around it and not fight it has more health than 2/3rds of the bosses in the game. He's a total unit.
The one where the human changes into a rune bear in consecrated was god awful. It just doesn’t leave you alone to even heal.
I’ve tried to kill the snowfield one multiple times…died over and over. Went home with the L 😂
I actually swam naked in the Lake of Rot. You don't want to do that. Trust me.
@@JinFreeks Yep. I managed to kill that one by mere chance. I was stuck just below that ledge at the bushes and his hitbox could not reach me, so I just panically hacked my bleed Uchi and somehow someway made it out. Total fluke, but hey, it counts :D
I love the rune bear just hanging out and folding laundry.
I make comments under those videos that are basically explaining several things... Here I have... a bit less. But we'll try anyway.
0:16 We are still in Caelid. That is bound to be fun.
0:19 And I talked under previous video about certain Winnie The Pooh and his CCP level of strength. Well...
0:31 This is the one... This Winnie the Pooh (or maybe it's final form of Boo Boo after he killed Yogi) is probably one of the absolute hardest monsters in the entire game. He has so much health and does SO MUCH damage that it's almost impossible to kill without using some kind of cheese strategies. You may ask yourselves "Why is he so damn strong?" Well it's about this cave called Dragon Barrow Cave (Dragon Barrow in itself is a REALLY hard part of Caelid, basically a nightmare within a nightmare). You see. This Bear patrols a certain part of the cave and you are meant to sneak and when you see it turn around and you will find a second part of the tunnel behind some bushes where there are just some shitty wolves and a boss which is a duet of two beastmen. You will get out of them +2 Fire resistance talisman. Although there IS something behind this bear. Something VERY valuable. A talisman that reduces Poise Damage. Bull Goat Talisman which is tied to one of the Tarnished you will sort of meet in this game (by meet I mean Kill with extreme prejudice for a side quest from your best friend Patches at Volcano Manor). The problem though is getting passed this horrendous monster (that also RESPAWNS) so if you want to fight it, I'll say give up. Just run. Run like hell, get the talisman. Die. And leave those runes behind, they are not worth the pain. Or just use one of the branches that let you keep your runes after you die. Now that the explanations are over let's laugh at Carbot's suffering.
1:08 BTW around Caelid are those dead fellows who died watching Radahn and Malenia fight. At least they had a good time.
1:14 Yeah... Also I don't remember now, but I think Runebears also have a ranged attack... "Why Miyazaki?!" Players asked "Lol!" Miyazaki said "LMAO!"
1:24 You tried Carbot. You tried.
Sleep pot. Bears like to take long naps. Just don't make the mistake of hitting them...
The bear beating the dish washer as it was washing him almost killed me 😂😂😂
The Bearnstain Bears and Paddington Bear songs playing in the background hit me right in the nostalgia. Who knew that Rune bears were a lot like tarnished, only more so.

One actual tip: the beastlure ritual pots work on them regardless of if they've spotted you already. Gives enough time to run the other way!
I need to make some of those. I outran the one chasing me in Mistwood, but the one in Liurnia near the lake chased me for what felt like halfway across the lake before it killed me. I had almost no runes on me, so I didn't bother returning for them, lol. One of those beastlure pots would have been nice to have at the time.

I hate the rune bears by miles more than any boss in the game
I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella
@Bump thrust I never thought of it that way. So true haha
Literally a big bear is harder than a giant war troll with a huge sword
dunno about the lobsters but rune bears are one of the few enemies in the game where fromsoft flips the formula back to the good old days where circle strafing and but stabs are the way. them and royal revenants are way harder if you don't circle strafe.
Unless they've managed to patch it, the trick is to let them grab you, and then spam buttons to break out early. It'll fall through the world every single time. Outside of like one instance where the bear drops something important that isn't just added directly to your inventory, this is the least frustrating way to deal with them.
In my first playthrough right after defeating Radahn I found the cave behind the rotten minor erdtree with this big mama rune bear in it. Pretty sure that thing can solo Radahn easy. I never beat it, just ran around it in fear.
That particular Rune Bear I've only killed in one ever playthrough, and it took enough out of me I had to rest so ofc it was right back
Yeah it was like an unscripted boss battle. Maybe I was underleveled or my weapon wasn't reinforced enough but that bear kicked my ass for over an hour. I killed it out of spite.
I died to the boss of this dungeon 4 times. I died to this runebear 8 times.
@@jaredbowman7764 nah that bear in the caelid cave has like 14k hp. it has pretty much the same hp as radagon

I thought it was gonna be about the surprise bear, I didn't even know there was a bear cave in caelid.
Oh yes, I be forgetting when I walk in every new game until I see an open space and a bear on patrol like it does security.

Me riding through early Limgrave: "I don't know why everyone keeps saying these bears are so hard to kill. They die in a few easy hits!"
Me raiding that cave and encountering my first actual rune bear:
I'm guessing you didn't find that one enemy in Limgrave that transforms into a Rune bear when you attack it?
That was me when I got dumped in Mistwood by Patches. Fought a bear and wondered what the fuss was about. I then picked a fight with the one scratching on a tree. I hadn't realized it was actually that much bigger than the one I killed and then I saw how little damage I dealt it. I just barely managed to get away from the thing and once I was safe had a quiet moment of realization that yes, those bears really are that bad. One in Liurnia that I just stumbled across chased me for ages and killed me in just a couple of hits.
I'm not too surprised really at how tough they are. Regular enemies in FromSoftware games nearly always give me more trouble than any actual boss. Bloody Crow of Cainhurst in Bloodborne being the exception for mini-bosses being worse than actual bosses.

@@RuneKatashima When you stumble across him in that first cave along that stream that feeds into the Agheel Lake from the north. After he surrenders you'll notice there's a new chest near the transporter back to the entrance of the cave. There are two ways to access the chest: open it right away and get teleported to Mistwood as Patches calls you a thief; or spend a certain amount of runes (5k or so, I think) and he'll give you the chest as a gift. It'll still transport you to Mistwood anyway, so it doesn't matter when you open it. I opened the chest right away, because I'd gotten confused. He'd been talking about a chest and I thought he was referring the one I'd opened that kicked off the whole fight in the first place. I'd misunderstood and hadn't realized he was referring to the new chest. Typical Patches antics and I couldn't bring myself to be that pissed at him even if I was yelling "Patches!" and swearing as I got transported away. I opted to forgive him for it. I always do. I still love how I stomped every boss in the first area of elden ring fairly easily, then I found the runebear boss...after some consideration (a deaths...there were some deaths) I decided to come back later, so I went to check out the hero's grave that you can find by the tutorial, surely that couldn't be that bad...turns out that is the other boss in the first zone that is harder than Godrick.
Since there were no mimics in the game they could had just disguised rune bears as chests. Considering they disguised one as a random dude on a cliff. Scariest moment in the game for me.

There's a white one roaming around outside the 2nd elevator from Siofra River (on the way to BIG pot bro) that was harder than anything I fought to that point , which was pretty deep into the game. The environment didn't help either. To top it off when I finally beat him he ain't drop sh*t ...I suggest avoiding at all costs just not worth the fight
I recall in Dragonbarrow Cave there was a Runebear that I referred to as the Sonic Bear. Tight, confined space to fight it in and it seemed incredibly fast, aggressive and willing to shout you to death, when I first encountered it I could do so little damage to it. For so long I would check back in on occaision to see if I could finally beat it.
Yk what’s crazy this one guy summoned me to help him with this cave bro was prolly level 300 and he had to summon me and on top of that he had the Elden beast sword 💀 that’s how serious these dam bears are, op for no fucking reason
the humping killed me lol
I am so glad there is no trophy like "kill all rune bears in the Lands Between" or Elden Ring would have been the first FromSoft game without Platinum for me. 😰
You first see the bear when he’s doing his chores like a good boy, then he leaves a soda can on the floor, that bear is more tidy than me.
It took me entirely too long to figure out how to beat those fucking Rune Bears. The trick is to roll INTO them as they're attacking you. Stay as close to their hind legs as possible. Once you master the maneuver they DO become easy-ish. Assuming you don't get ambushed, panic, and roll off a cliff... uhh not that I've done any such thing before 😜
Congratulations, you learned the trick for 90% of things. Rolling IN to things has worked since DS1 and has been almost always the best tactic.
0:43 LMAO! 😂😂😂 That celebration
It would have been great to see him leave, leve up, return a lot stronger and still get squatted aside by the rune bear
