Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Music Group today released “Welcome to Rosas,” performed by Ariana DeBose and the talented cast of “Wish.” Now available on SiriusXM’s Disney Hits Channel 302, RUclips, Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music and all digital service providers, “Welcome to Rosas” is the third of five songs being revealed as part of a weekly “Wish Wednesdays” music campaign ahead of the film’s launch in U.S. theaters on November 22.
Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy®-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice penned seven original songs for the film. “I would describe the songs as fun, emotional and heartfelt,” said Michaels. “We had to cover a lot of ground for ‘Wish’ lyrically, so a lot of the songs are rhythmically whimsical and intentional.
“‘Welcome to Rosas’ is the first song you hear from the movie,” continued Michaels. “I've always loved Disney welcome songs like ‘Frozen’ [‘For the First Time in Forever’] and ‘Encanto’ [‘The Family Madrigal’]. It really just sets up where you are and where you're going.”
The song introduces audiences to the kingdom where wishes really do come true. Asha (voice of DeBose) takes the lead in showcasing the rich world created by Disney Animation’s artists, storytellers, technicians-and a flamenco choreographer who provided reference to animators for the sequence. “As the opening song in the film, ‘Rosas’ is intended to feel like an informative and euphoric tour guide of all the wonderful things the world of Rosas has to offer,” said Rice. “It’s super fun and full of energy and carries the audience into the kingdom of wishes.”
The Wish Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from Walt Disney Records will be available November 17 on all streaming platforms. Fans can pre-order the CD here and the vinyl here.

It's fine, but in Encanto they made the introduction perform so much more. We saw the characters, their place in the world, some nice gags, and the beginnings of the conflict. This song could be summed up in a sentence as far as I can see.

ariana debose is such a perfect casting for a disney princess, the problem for wish is the tired sounding songs.. we have these type of songs since 2013, it's time to get new songwriters
That’s not all it’s also time for Disney to get some new writers in general so they can start coming up with more originality and not repeating stuff we’ve seen a million times

If im not misremembering, the problem with this movie was exactly that they used someone relatively new who wrote pop songs, not the musicla theatre songwriters that are more befitting of such disney movies. To me the songs are good because i havent watched the movie and can enjoy them seperately from the story, but if i were to look at it as part of a larger story and not just disjointed clips, i probably wouldnt be as satisfied as i am now.

I was thinking this way too, but I had never heard a single song from the show. When I finally decided to listen to it, the first song I heard was My Time and I went nuts because all I could think was “Why didn't Wish’s songs sound like this!?!?” It is also crazy that EoA has a better representation of cultures than this 200 mil movie (I forgot that 70% of the time this movie takes place in Spain)
Honestly, I know this movie gets hate, but when I saw this in the theater, the energy of the chorus (I think that’s what the main part of the song is called?) just gave me this warm, nostalgic feeling as if I was watching Moana in the theatre again. Movies are just so different when you watch them in the theater.

Asha doesn't even have genuine connections to those around her. She's whinny, manipulative, and rebellious. She didn't even have a character arc. She has no motivation apart from, her dead dad (?).
Magnifico was not even a villain. He's a just king who did everything to protect his people. The writers tried their best to shoehorn his villainy, but they failed miserably.

Well, about that. It’s actually really good animation. But that gets thrown out the windows. Because it only looks good with best quality theater and video resolution. Anything normal will make it look somewhat blurry. Kinda sad.

My wish is going come true!
To me, "This Wish" and "Welcome to Rosas" were the strongest songs in the film. I didn't think the other songs were terrible, they just didn’t have the same energy other Disney songs had. If they hired musical theatre writers instead of pop artists, maybe the songs would've been better.

Random comment: But u feel like the line "hair touch down to your feet" should change into heal someone's feet. I say this because this can be asha's first goal of the movie to heal her grandfather's feet. Maybe something happened to it maybe it got injured or he is paralyzed. Because this can sound random but it also be for shadowing. Another thing is when she said "go to outer space" I feel like this should have been more mellow because this can be what asha truly wants but she is putting what she wishes aside for her grandfather
