Agreed. On balance I may have consumed more Dewar’s by way of Dewar’s and Cokes in my adult life than any other specific label. It’s got a soft spot for me and makes a great easy going mixer Scotch that isn’t offensive despite its relative cheapness.
Great review. This was my Grandfather's go-to whisky too. I've been wanting to do a vertical tasting video of Dewars starting with this and working up to some of their premium bottlings.
Thanks! I'm definitely looking into more expressions from Dewar's. Once I do my blended Scotch review series, I'll have a different bottle of Dewar's to review. Cheers!
Hi.....this is my go to whisky. Why do I or any person want to sip a whisky? For me it's the history. It feels decadent a reason to relax, sit back in your favourite armchair and just forget about the bloody awful day you've had, the idiots you tolerate. This is your home, your castle and your moment. Savouring that moment is all encompassing, toasting that moment with a whisky.........priceless All the best 😎☯️🌱Jonny
Dewar's is a weird brand, kinda like it on some releases, kinda don't on others. I'd really be curious what you'd think about one of their double double releases.
When I do my series on blended scotch I'm going to put a different Dewar's expression in the reviews. So far the double aged Dewar's looks like it's a popular choice. I have not had anything but the White Label.
I'm new to the world of whiskey, and this is my second bottle. My first was Old Smuggler, which was meh... By now, Im still having a hard time downing whiskey, it's so damn butter. Any advice. Besides drinking pina coladas? Lol
My only advice is to stick with it. I took me a few months before I was able to tolerate the taste of ABV or alcohol . Once I was able to get past that I really started to enjoy all types of whisk(e)y
Great video! I’ve tried Dewars White Label before, and I’d say your take was pretty similar to what I recall. For me, I felt like it was “meh”. Nothing bad by any means though. Maybe a little more “rough” than say some of the entry level Johnnie Walkers that I’ve tried. I was anticipating a skip here. I’m guessing if the price were closer to say $30, it may be a skip? Thanks as always!
Excellent content! I love all Dewar’s lineup, except for their 15 year old….IDK why I just can’t get into it. I love the White Label and 12 year. The Dewar’s White Label is cheaper and smacks JW Red label. No contest.
@@DerpRulesAll Actually it’s because it tastes younger than 15 years. The 12 is smoother and maltier in my opinion. The 15 is slightly harsh and no hint of peat…lots of wood/barrel influence. I like the new revamped 12 or the old 12 year old better than the Dewar’s 15.
It holds more meaning for me. It is what my mother drank and she passed away this past January. So now every time I see this bottle or have a drink it is more about the experience and not so much about the taste. Cheers!
For me there is more to it then just the taste. It holds memories and experiences so this will always be on my shelf. Even more so now that my mother passed away in January of 2023.

And I think the nostalgia of this bottle being sipped on by my mom uncle and aunt makes it an easy "sip it" for me.

Well said Jonathan. Well said. Cheers!
Very tasty and smooth especially pairing with a stogie !!!!!!
It is an easy sipper. Cheers!
My stepfather turned me on to this one. The price can't be beat. Smooth on the rocks, I always have a bottle on my shelf. Cheers!
This will always have a place on my shelf as well. Especially after my mom passed this past January.

Other expressions are on my list to review. Stay tuned.
I’m with you…except, I love everything I’ve tasted from Dewars, except the 15 year.
Honestly haven’t had the White Label, but the 12YO is excellent for the price, especially for cocktails. Definitely beats Johnnie Walker Black.

I remember sneaking a sip of the Dewars as a kid hoping it would taste good and it never did….didn’t stop me from sneaking it again. 😊
I snuck more than the Dewar's. I'm amazed we turned out the way we did.
My late grandma’s favorite whisky haha, so I thought it was funny you said it might be an old person’s drink. I do enjoy it personally
I like it as well. Now that my mother has passed it will always be a shelter.

Anymore expensive and I would be a skip. It is "meh", but the memory of family liking it keeps it at a sip.
@@whiskeyisajourney love it.
I'm 60. Dewars is my favorite Scotch.
It will always hold a special place for me. It is an easy one to like.
@whiskeyisajourney
Seems a part of your family tradition too 👍 That's a win-win!

The only JW I have is the 15. I have not had the JW Red yet. It would be an interesting blind battle to do. JW Red and Dewar's White Label. Cheers.
Is it because the 15 has no peat?

@@samuelrodriguez6707 Slightly harsh, but with peat, I can work with that. But slightly harsh, no peat, and it's Dewars; no, I can't work with that.
Love dears blended scotch ❤
I like it as well. Cheers!
I've been enjoying my 1,750ml bottle.
Good to hear. Cheers!
Dewars White Label is not that bad for the price. I drink it with ice and a splash of water 💧
I agree. It's something that I will go to from time to time and I enjoy it every time. Cheers!
Cheers 🍷🥂 New 🆕 friend 👍🔔 fully support your channel 🍷🍷🍷
Much appreciated! Cheers!
Scotch is to be drank straight and you drink less of something mixed it is a mature drink don’t mix with it
Everyone has their way. Cheers!
This is the worse ever should be a crime to drink this crap sorry 😂

Garbage! Mix fodder. Japanese dewars blend is so much better for same price
I enjoyed the review tho

I totally agree with your assessment of this whisky. And, for something with a little more "Oomph", go with the 12 year old Double Aged.
I will certainly be looking into that one. Cheers!
