Mr. French, you nailed this one as you always do ! Lovecraft's words almost beg to be read. Any Poe in the works??? A Tell-Tale Heart is my favorite short story.
Thanks, Den. I'll circle around back to Poe eventually, but for now I want to hold off from channeling people who are flipping their lids. Cheers. E.E.F.
Mr French, I’ve just read your interesting bio at this videos end and I have to say, I’m not very surprised to hear of your well acknowledged talent and successful career in the film industry. Why, you may ask? Because your excellence comes through in your narration, actually, it would be more accurately called voice acting heard in this video. Being from a family of broadcasters, I grew up in television and radio stations starting back in the early 1960’s, and have been around many incredibly talented people throughout my life. I only mention this so you’ll understand that perhaps I know talent when I see and/or hear it. And you Mr. French, excel in your abilities to provide a stimulating read. I find it a shame that on a platform such as RUclips, where the majority of self proclaimed “narrators” can’t even read properly, much less narrate, that a man of such talent as yourself has just a small number of subscribers. However, I know that will change in time, and I can foresee you having 100 times the number of subscribers you have now, in fairly short order. In the meantime, I’ll consider it a great benefit to those of us already here, who may interact with you through the comments, before you have so many subscribers and so many comments, you won’t be able to even read through a small percentage of them! All that said, it’s a true joy listening to you, and I personally want to thank you for taking the time to post your videos for us to enjoy. So once again, Thank You Mr. French!
Thank you for taking the time to write this, @jmflyer55. Comments like yours are encouraging. My father, "Ned French on the Bench," was one of the first "disk jockeys" in early Boston radio. He tried to give me a leg up in radio broadcasting, but I was more interested in theatre and drifted in that direction. I might have been more at home in the golden age of radio when it was a pillar in the Entertainment Industrial Complex. "Narrators" are now ubiquitous, and they all have "home studios." I'm content to be a small fish in the global interweb. My latest, (12.09.23) H.G. Wells "The Stolen Body" received over 500 "hits" in the first 24 hours of its posting. I assume each of these "Hits" was a listener. I guess my ambitions are modest, but that's a pretty good audience for a Saturday night when they could be listening or watching more exciting fare. Cheers. E.E.F.
Thanks @boris1932. I hope so. H.P.L. would have been even more delighted if he knew how his popularity with horror fiction aficionados continues to grow over the years. E.E.F.
Another BEAUTY sir !!! Thank you very much! I give you a lot of lip service about you...whenever I meet lovers of old Mercury theatre and 1940 radio programs. Keep up the great work!
One take! Very impressive. I always assumed that a lot of editing was needed to do these stories, but you make it look easy. Doubly impressive since you appear to be a disembodied head. ;)
@johnsmith-ek8rj-Editing definitely enhances an audio book. And you can edit out mistakes. There's no point in making one of these audios if it isn't smoothly delivered and word perfect. But I wanted to work without a safety net, and I think the result is that it can add a bit more danger in the telling of a "scary story." The disembodied head in a void bit appeals to me for this sort of presentation. Thanks for listening and watching. E.E.F.

One of your best readings ever Mr. French
Under my electric blanket as I'm listening to this. Why am I still chilly?
Really love the floating head videos
Thank you. Yes, aside from being a wind bag occasionally I'm an air head. Cheers. E.E.F.

Well done sir! H.P. would have been beaming with delight listening to your wonderfully horrifying reading of his tale.

MUCH BETTER than these soulless AI narrators !
Another BEAUTY sir !!! Thank you very much! I give you a lot of lip service about you...whenever I meet lovers of old Mercury theatre and 1940 radio programs. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, @user-ps4gi6qd3u. I'm humbled when you mention my modest efforts and the Mercury Theatre at the same time. Cheers. E.E.F.
Wow! Favourite author, favourite narrator on my favourite holiday! Happy Hallowe'en, Mr. Edward 👻👾🦇
Season's Scary Greetings, my dear! E.E.F.
"...that argued the punctual call of the barber..." what a line, what unpretenting words, what horror.
When the great meet, excellence is ensured. Thx
A superb piece of narrative melodrama, as always. They just keep getting better - thank you.
Thank you for commenting @tomleaf5790. Especially appreciate it since this is my first attempt at telling an entire story on camera. E.E.F.
