  • Before there was Rod Serling's Twilight Zone, there was Julius Long's eerie tale of a man whose journey leads him to the shadowy tip of reality and..... The Pale Man. Creepy (retro) Halloween weirdness narrated by Oscar nominated and Emmy winning Special Make-up Effects artist Ed French.

What a pleasure to hear a compatriot with a smooth, erudite voice. ❤

Thank You, Jean. You might enjoy my reading of the The Fly where I'm actually trying to sound like Price.

I love the tension and excitement Edward E. French brings to this classic story. Wonderful combination of 1940's mystery radio with high quality sound.

    Well done, as ever.
The sound of the door opening, at the end, was an inspiration.

Thanks, Offshore. As you know, I like to cap these things off with some sort of "exit" sound effects cue and that one was imbedded in the narrative. The gong is a little less original. Arch Obler's LIGHTS OUT 1940's radio shows used it frequently a horror cue....

Superb! Your engaging narratives have introduced me to literary gems I might have otherwise not discovered. Have you read 'Divine Madness', the short story by Roger Zelazny? I rather think you'd enjoy it.

B.D.Ahem- I'm not familiar with Divine madness. I'll check it out. E.E.F.

Are you familiar with a story by A M Burrage titled "One Who Sees"? I would love to hear you perform it, it's an all-time favorite of mine. I also wanted to recommend Edogawa Rampo a Japanese writer who penned a BRILLIANT story called "The Human Chair" a must read even if you don't decide to narrate. Best surprise ending.... 😲
