The slow-motion video is better than my DSLR lmao. This is epic. Will you guys be doing more takes on this phone? Maybe shooting some content like a lifestyle video on the device? Would love to see more.

The slow-motion is quite amazing on this phone. We will match it to the a7sIII slow motion in a future video. We have another video coming soon. We will be shooting on this device all summer long and have many more videos to come. We really are hoping the this is the first phone that we feel fully comfortable using to create content. So far its been great.

@@Artofvisuals you are one of the rare youtubers who take the time to grade the HLG files. I highly appreciate that. For your nxt video it would be nice if u don't use Luts it irritates my eye when I see these Luts on. Matching your Sony camera is all I want to see. *The good colours. Ty for this video✨

content creators? No you mean everyone~ This is the phone that the world has been asking for, for years now~ All we wanted was no nonsense device w/ a headphone jack and just all the default features a phone is supposed to have not get rid of all the features and be a useless potato~ This is the past, present, and future of smartphones~

Thanks for actually going in-depth on the camera and not covering it as just a point and shoot competitor to over processed cameras like iPhone and galaxy. Also bad ass you’re in AZ!

Check out Juan Bagnell's channel for an actual camera deep dives. This here looks more like a Sony ad. It's a great phone and I am looking to get it myself too, but it doesn't seem objective or "deep" by any stretch of the imagination.

@@CoHuTo i saw Juans and loved it too, what i loved about this one was less about what they said and more about what they showed the camera could do in professional hands, thats what i want to see, not "how well does it point and shoot and do some computational wizardry to make your terrible photo look decent". but more like " this is what it can do when you know what your doing"

@@beardedbarnstormer9577 I get it, I also enjoyed the video, it gives me hope that I'll be actually able to shoot some semi-professional videos about my passion - cars. I'll just need to get creative with phone mounting hardware.

Not really I’ve been watching videos on this phone all week. If he did a deep dive he would have mentioned the cons. 4K and 120Hz don’t work at the same time. Zoom takes soft even blurry photos. Low light mode is horrendous as in just being in a dim lit room you can’t tell where a black T-shirt ends and a black wall begins. The phone runs hot. 4K is not optional(so the battery will not give you a full day). While filming you cannot change lenses, you need to stop your video switch and start a new one. Basic mode is hit and miss for photo quality. Auto focus can be touchy. Certain games can’t maintain 60fps and can drop drastically.
With all that being said I still want this phone unfortunately I work in a hot kitchen by a heat lamp for 8-12 hours a day. I can’t have a phone with heat issues.
If you know what you’re doing this phone can take amazing photos (I don’t but I want to learn) it also has a lot of excellent features that weren’t mentioned in this video. I honestly might say screw it and get it anyway and figure something out for the heat issue. Who knows maybe the will figure out a workable configuration to add in an update that will allow the snapdragon 888 to relax a bit and not over heat. But I’m thinking moving the release date back from the 19th to aug 3rd they’re having some serious issues. Especially considering it’s the last 2021 flagship to release and other companies are soon going to start releasing info on their 2022 models. Idk maybe it’s just production issues and the design is ready to go. Anyway if you thought that was a deep dive I figured why not let you know. Still a great phone if you got the money. I’m rockin an iPhone 7 so a 2021 flagship is a drastic improvement no matter what

Is it true that you can't shoot 60fps 4K video in 16:9? That would be a dealbreaker for me because I shoot everything in 3840×2160@60fps. According to this video, at 60fps you're limited to 3840×1644 (21:9 crop): ruclips.net/video/heoPw8p5rvU/видео.html.
Update: upon further reading, Cinema Pro has always had fixed 21:9 aspect ratio. No reason to believe that will change with Xperia 1 III release.

Nice review 👍 I’m seriously considering this phone for its camera. Although what happened to their arms at 3:37? Was the footage just overexposed (from not using an ND perhaps?), or did something else cause that?

Don't really understand Sony's strategy though... You did a great job but I don't know if this video will get loads of views. We can't ignore that massive price tag either.

Seems that hands down Sony provides the best manual modes for mobile photography. Do you agree?
And can we see a basic mode camera shoot out against iphone 12 pro and Samsung S21 Ultra?!?
Interested to see how different a shot is when it's the casual person vs someone more pro

There are already many of them out there, everyone keeps going on about how it is so much worse than an iPhone or galaxy, but they never even try the pro modes. The Xperia is for people who don't want to use basic mode. Consider this, you buy a Koenigsegg agera RS, you're not going to drive around in eco mode, you go right to sport mode. The Xperia is the only phone with a "sport mode".
