    Hi Tony , I'm a first time owner of a TX6160. I just wanted to check when we we are not actively using the radio between trips, is the best thing to leave the radios in the twin charger unit or is there another way to take care of your radios when not using for some time?

    • @GMEaus
      @GMEaus  2 года назад +2

      Hi Phillip, the best thing for the TX6160 would be to cycle it (charge then deplete) as it is a lithium battery. We would not recommend leaving it always in the cradle or with a depleted battery for prolonged periods as this may impact the battery life. Hope this helps!

      Hi Nick, yes there is the ability to connect the TX6160 to a externally mounted aerial.

  • @SeriousSchitt
    @SeriousSchitt 2 года назад

    So does the TX6600S use the same external speaker mic as the TX6160?
    The other question is, I have an AE4707B Medium Barrel Spring antenna for my vehicle unit, mounted on my sports bar, which is too tall to drive into the garage with it up, and I don't use it frequently enough to warrant having it on while driving down the road, even with it folded down on the MBO24B fold down black antenna mounting bracket, so I just unscrew it until I'm ready to go out hunting. Is it ok to use some kind of copper or nickel based anti seize grease on the thread, or will that somehow impede performance?
    Thanks.

    • @GMEaus
      @GMEaus  2 года назад

      Hi there,
      Yes they both use the MC011 speaker mic.
      Regarding the second part, if you didnt want to have the AE4707B whip on we would suggest using the CA005 antenna base cap to protect it whilst the whip is removed.
