    This is such a neat example of how corrective lenses work! Whenever I try to explain what it’s like to be near-sighted, I don’t think people really understand. I can make out the general shape of things from a distance, and I could probably assume what certain letters or numbers are if I really focus, but glasses changes the image from being fuzzy to being sharp and legible!

    • @goodsoup301
      @goodsoup301 2 года назад +15

      I find a good way to explain is to get people to look at a tree and unfocus their eyes if they can. There’s such a huge difference in what a tree looks like with my glasses and without and I always forget what a difference they really do make

    As someone whose optician has finally abandoned the old 'case full of lenses' in favour of a machine, it was lovely and nostalgic to see this. Going to the optician when I was very young was my first experience of ASMR decades before I even knew there was a name for it. The only thing this was missing was the the noise of the lens being slotted into the configurable frame and screwed in, and the satisfying thunk of addition and removal!

    As an optometrist this is kinda surprisingly accurate! My place of work still uses the case full of lenses and I have to do this exams regularly, I am not this calm im more quick and practical because people usually go in a hurry, but now I am truthfully inspired to be more gentle and relaxing towards patients and maybe people will come more often or tell others about this very important exam to be a pleasant experience!

    5 out of 5 stars
    Dr. Gibi did a great job. Great bedside manner. Was a little anxious about the eye doctor since i haven’t been to one in a while but Dr. Gibi kept me calm when talking to me. All in all, a great doctor. The only downside was that i kept falling asleep in the chair. Other than that, would highly recommend Dr. Gibi.

I have 60/40 vision so the letters are always something I struggle with and I’m not often able to see past line four or five which this showed perfectly.

    Hi Gibi. I've tuned into your channel every now and again for the past couple of years. However I had to subscribe finally this morning. I have a thing for medical type role plays and this is a very, VERY good one. You have a voice which I would describe as 'melted butter'. That may seem a bit random but please, I assure you it is a compliment. So, so relaxing and puts me at ease. With your voice I could imagine you could wonderfully read books, audiobooks, narration etc. Perhaps reading short stories could be an idea for your channel if you haven't done so already? Anyway, all the best from the UK and take good care of yourself.

    My first asmr experience stems from about 40 years ago. The term "asmr" didn't even exist then (or was not known to the general public). I sat alone in the dining room of a restaurant. It was daytime and in small town with very little things to do. I ate a club sandwich and had a coffee or two. At the other end of the dining room at a table sat the maitre d' (a woman about her middle 30s) and a younger female staff member. These two had a very intimate, whispered conversation. With aspirated, somewhat 'moist' sounding voices. Their conversation was of an unmistakable gossip level, somewhat excited. It was as if the sound of their whispers came over me in a just not tangible stream. It caressed my eardrums and from my eardrums it flowed in a tingly 'electrical' stream down to my spine, over the whole length of it, pooling in the lower of my back, giving me goose bumps. Also the eareas of my ears, inwardly and outwardly felt 'caressed'. To this day I will never forget this. It was heavenly! I wanted it to go on forever, but alas, duty called for both ladies and their whispering stopped. It was almost an erotic sensation. I was very young and very unexpirienced in a broader sense. So I felt a bit ashamed (I had a strict evangelical upbringing, so there you go). Later in life (much later) I learned that I have Asperger's (a milder form of autism) which is accompanied by a hightened sense of expierencing sense-perception? (sensual perception sounds wrong). Some people call this hypersensitiveness. I think that was the cause of the intense, somewhat erotic sensations I underwent. Sad to say that this never happened again, it was LOVELY to undergo.
    So asmr to me is foremostly whispered CONVERSATION. Now I know that the scope of asmr sensations is somewhat wider, but to me? Still whispering voices. Preferably young and female, preferably two or perhaps three voices in whispered conversation. The way you deal with this matter... I admire and respecct it. This is very delicate, intimate stuff. There has to be a sense of trust and surrender. A sense of letting go, giving up controle. Perhaps even an element of regression to childhood? I my experience you handle this fairly well. Still some commentary, a tip, sometimes you came across as a bit hesitant. To me that is a bit stressing, just a bit. The read haired lady collegue had this aspect better under control I believe. But you are prettier! And I like your voice and speach pattern better. (you have the darnest pretty eyebrows! Yummm). So, keep it up, keep growing. You do a lot of good for a lot of people.

    What’s funny is that I have glasses and this is what they exactly did when I had an eye appointment you totally nailed it dude!
    The reason I have glasses is when I was born I had an infection that spread to my eyes and had to stay in hospital for 11 months by the time I got out my parents didn’t think much of it not knowing it spread to my eyes but when my school called they went to the doctor and sure enough the disease had totally destroyed my eyes so now I have magnified glasses that keep them stable
