Ahh Back when live concerts were just that !!! Live possibly some imperfections but mostly NOT either way music and performers gave it there all every night just like this masterpiece 🙏🏼
I lived it! I remember buying the cassette, seeing them in concert. I lived the 1980s experience to the full extent, and as proof, I offered the hearing in my right ear to the Rock Gods!
I remember the first time I heard this song, it was half over before I realized it wasn't a new Journey release. I always loved this song. Great performance here.
I have no idea who these other people are...Geraffrica or whatever ... But do you know that guy on the guitar is none other than Craig Goldy?? The legendary guitarist of DIO and Dream Child. Wow!!...I was wondering what the crowd was cheering for and then Craig comes out and it all suddenly made sense.
Yes! Even Steve knew. MTV once asked him what he thought and Steve replied “no comment” and laughed a bit. He was probably thinking “Why is this guy copying me?” Could you imagine this moment back in time?
Ok, just looking back through this. I believe some fake playing going on. Singer stopped singing at one point yet there was his vocal still going. Same with keyboardist, Gregg. He isn't playing at the end as clearly visible by his fingers stationary. Air banding it for the most part.
They were so talented! !his voice just soars! So powerful! It is true these bands even country doest sound great! Those dingy don’t sound country! Other bands sound terrible!
Great Song..the Drums are Pushing the Beat..hacking the tempo...it would be a better vocal performance if the tempo was relaxed.....i know what im talking about
While I would tend to agree with you, let me give you some advice. First, EVERY band from this era played all their material much faster in tempo when performing live. Also, telling people on RUclips that you know what you're talking about is not really something to be all that proud of.
Giuffria are a great band without a great guitar player unlike Angel. David Glen Eisley really can sing- he's fantastic- great! I was in touch with Gregg Guiffria ages ago it must have been 1999 or something and he was the nicest, classiest guy in the world. It's always great when your heroes turn out to be really nice and really appreciative of your love for them. I wish Angel would get back together again with Gregg and Punky, but it doesn't look like that will ever happen. I think they'd basically just had enough of all the bad breaks they got. Maybe there's a lot of pain they don't want to relive.
Kinda gotta disagree with you a little bit about the guitar player comment. Without comparing him to anyone I personally feel he's a bit under-rated. Couldn't agree with you more about everything else tho 😃
Yeah, the guitarist here is Craig Goldy, and while his playing is rather understated on this song, he's actually quite the axeman. I believe shortly after this tour, he was picked to join Dio's band! Since Giuffria was by nature a very keyboard-heavy band, I think the guitar might've been a bit overshadowed at times, but that doesn't speak to his abilities at all.
I thought I was the only one who thought of Keith Emerson. Perhaps Gregg had it as an homage to Keith? Not sure if he was influenced by Keith, but there's definite similarlities.

Anyone else rockin to this in '24?
I'm 63 and loved this group!
My best years ( 61 here)
Awesome song !
❤Them
Yep!
Great Band...Great Song!
This was back when musicians were actually talented, unlike the groups of today that have zero talent
great love song
Someone invent a time machine so we all can go back!!!!
Opened for Deep Purple on Perfect strangers tour 1984-85.
I saw that tour! I heard that Ritchie Blackmore was so intimidated by Craig Goldy's guitar skills that DP cut Goldy's solo from Giuffria's set...🙄
God, what a set of lungs. Probably one of the best vocals I have ever heard. (and of course Steve Perry)
David Glen Eisley - amazing vocalist with amazing musicians! so good!
Would have been great to see them live!
Just imagine it….No autotune! And just think, this was probably the encore after a long concert! Great performance!
Que música la de los 80's por dios santo el nivel el talento apesar de no ser una banda tan exitosa pero son prodigios en la música dando lo mejor de si 💯💯💯 viva el Rock 🤘
Thanks for posting, I wish Giuffria lasted longer.
Ahh Back when live concerts were just that !!! Live possibly some imperfections but mostly NOT either way music and performers gave it there all every night just like this masterpiece 🙏🏼
Two great Greg Guiffria bands. This one and House of Lords
Real music. Seems like a far away memory.
So true
THAT VOICE WAS SOLID GOLD!!
What a stunningly beautiful live version of this very underrated song! David just nailed it, especially that last note! It sure called to my heart!!
That last high note David hits is amazing!!! sheer perfection!!
One of my old favorites. I still have the vinyl album. :)
I have that album on tape, is awesome
Omg so jealous you have the vinyl. Would pay top dollar for that one!!! Would sound so good on my Pioneer PL-71 from 1975!!

VOCALISTA MAGNIFICO,POTENTE ,TALENTOSO, HACE BIEN LO QUE SABE QUE TIENE QUE HACER.
I wish they were still together i love this band always all the songs are masterpieces
Got to see these guys in Milwaukee during the King Biscuit Flower Hour back in the day. I still have the drum stick that my brother caught!!
I love this song this synthesizer I just love that
I was lucky to connect with Greg on LinkedIn. What an awesomely humble man!
I remember the first time I heard this song, it was half over before I realized it wasn't a new Journey release. I always loved this song. Great performance here.
I still have a 45 of this song! I wore that thing out in 1984-85.
この曲好きでした。いまでもたまに聞いています。Voの人オリビアハッセーと結婚してたんですね。びっくり。
One of the most underrated bands!
Absolute perfection! Miss this era
Simply a great song regardless of any music genre.
Awesome voice and cool tune!
a classic band! Thanks!
Great song!
I Love this song
💚🤘🎸
Damn.....just plain DAMN!!
David sang this way better than I would have imagined
Always loved David's pipes.
This guy's got highs and depth just like Steve Perry did.
Yes! Even Steve knew. MTV once asked him what he thought and Steve replied “no comment” and laughed a bit. He was probably thinking “Why is this guy copying me?” Could you imagine this moment back in time?
seen them in 1987 went back stage ....
Awesome dude, I would like to see them but is so late
I bet you did lol
Another great underrated song
Just love their hair
Tbh, this could have been a Journey song.
Always loved this band. Gregg has magic fingers and DGE has magic pipes. Craig aint bad either
I wonder how long of a set Giuffria played here? I couldn’t name any other of their tunes 😁
The entire concert is here on RUclips
Japan '85
Still one of my favorites @erik gronwall
I always thought they sounded a lot like Journey. (And that's meant as a compliment)
thanks for upload this!
Well performed

Thumbs up!!
Potencia, calidad ,talento la banda genial 29/01/23 ESCUCHANDOLOS

tempo :courtesy of cocaine, maybe??...lol
Vocalista es una maravillosa montaña rusa musical.
Great song, although he sounded out of breath. Still a treat.
Different tempo than the studio release, but still good. :)
The tempo is actually quite close to the original
wow killer

smilinachya
Well that's good enough for me and yes he's not that bad! I loved this band from when they first were out and I was 8 years old!
They were awesome!
smilinachya
Yes they were!

Banda perfecta, vocalista perfecto.Son miel en los labios.
Greg broke from Angel to put his band together
What does Greg have in his mouth? And why does he think he is Keith Emerson? No one needed that type of patch cord keyboard rig in the 1990's.
I thought I was the only one who thought of Keith Emerson. Perhaps Gregg had it as an homage to Keith? Not sure if he was influenced by Keith, but there's definite similarlities.
A microphone for a vocoder (electronic synth voice)
Great tune! Too bad there other shit Sucked! I guess I must be dreaming is decent too.
Great song. Boring live band. Craig was better with DIO. The drummer needs those sunglasses from the video.
Damd good song, but the tempos way to fast 😅
Magical years.
