I'm 30 (born in 1984), but when I was in high school in the late 90's and early 2000's, I was listening to 70's and 80's music -- specifically rock and metal -- and ignored most of my generation's "hits." For those of you who are wondering, the lady in the video was an actress named April Clough. She was in the first few episodes of T.J. Hooker before being replaced by Heather Locklear in 1982.
Absolutely! Reconnected with a kindred spirit 18 months ago, unfortunately after she had made arrangements to relocate 1,000 miles away; 13 years after my first wife and first true soulmate passed away. The potentially devastating experience might have a happy ending after all. A year of online friendship has revealed to her that I had been planning since the 70's to set up a winter home not far from her new home as soon as my current home & future summer home was paid off next year. Hopefully she'll realize after two summers of 100°+ weather that the idea my grandparents inspired 40 years ago of keeping a house in our hometown could elevate kindred spirits to soulmates.

Still a great song and video. David Glen Eisley was a vocal dead-ringer for Steve Perry of Journey, and what a voice!! Always loved this song and still do. 👍🏻
Revisiting this again... late 2021. God...What a time. The Roaring 80's. Just went and searched brief interviews with both Goldy and DG Eisley...and 'Found 'em. Just wanted to hear and see, where they're at now. Both seemed in good spirits and spoke quite well about past things and current things. Another thing i can't help but 'hear...listening to this one ( and certainly no slight to Eisley, as he sounds great on this) but...anyone else hear the Steve Perry' goin' on, in his voice. In this 'song, even?.... Could have easily been a Journey Hit. As if they didn't have enough of those... Lol! All around, just great memories of that golden decade of 'perfect decadence' and 'carefree youthful fun'...we all had. I was a drummer in my 20's... in a band called Northrup...in Sacramento. We were showcasing all over California... Johnny Edwards was our singer, who later went on to Foreigner for a time. All now...in a galaxy, far, far away.....
Saw these guys with Deep Purple Jan ‘85 what a treat……and DP was louder than any rock band I have ever heard live….side note saw KISS in the same week. Ears rang for 3 wks.
I forget this song and band ever existed for about five years at a time. Then something brings me back to it, and I remember every nuance of the song, the lyrics and the video like it was yesterday. And it's that "soundtrack of my life mix tape" thing we all talk about having, but this one is different. Then I cry tears of nostalgia, remembering how magical my life was back then when my mom bought this album for me for Christmas 1984, my first year out of high school. Yeah, I really did have magic happening, above and beyond just what was perceived in my head. Yeah, I've got stories. And I love it when the incredible feelings of awe and joy and gratitude of my tremendous gifts of magic or luck are still so preserved in the time capsule of this band, this video, this song. What an an incredible life I've had.
I had a blast in the 80s live concerts all the time even our local schools rocking to speed metal.miss my youthful years.but thank you Lord for even making it this far.had a blast .and alot of memories.thank you.keep rocking👍🙏❤️💯♾️

They were one of the most underrated bands of the 80s. I was 17 when this song came out. Still like it today. Miss my youth.
I was also 17 when this song was released
For those of you who are wondering, the lady in the video was an actress named April Clough. She was in the first few episodes of T.J. Hooker before being replaced by Heather Locklear in 1982.
According to IMDB, her name is now "April Giuffria"
THAT'S AUSOM INFO
1984 ....great times.....I wish I could go back!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses the 80s , they were my Jr high an high school days, I'm the old guy now who cry's when I hear a 80s song.
When music and music videos were timeless!! I miss the 80s!!
I still have their album! This is such a great song and under rated/appreciated Band!
Thanks Bill!! Very cool thing to say!!
I have their cassette tape.
David Glen Eisley should perform Sweet Victory at the Super Bowl like if you agree
A call to the heart is dialed directly to your soul ~
+82sweetheart And to your soulmate!
+82sweetheart Amen, Sista! ;)
Oh gawd!
That was a beautiful comment! Should be in the song!!!!😘
Still have this song on a cassette single. Remember those?
An under rated band with a bunch of great songs. Especially this one... 80's had the best music across the board...
This song holds many amazing memories for me of meeting the finest lady ive ever met in person while this song was playing, To giuffria, thanks for the memories as 1984 was one of the best years of my life
Takes me back to a time that's gone forever
that just punched me in the feels.
I was 18 in 1984 what a fucking awesome time to grow up 🤘
Quintessential 80’s. Miss the decade, every single day.
Greg Giuffria is the best hard rock keyboardist in the world.
The band is named after keyboardist?
@@lolaflores5388 Indeed. Greg lived in Las Vegas for many years; really good guy and a very talented keyboardist.
Lol . Jon lord don airey, Steve walsh,Rik wakemen, Ken hensley
@@jerrywoods4066 You got that right! Ken Hensley was my own personal favorite. ( R.I P.)
@@lindasmith6316 mine was Jon lord from purple.
This tune takes me back to good times like no other WOW what a time!
Brings back sweet memories...nothing like the 80's music. This music is and was the best!!
Still a killer tune after all these years..Guiffria was classic and underrated...
One of the most underrated Rock bands
Giuffria rocked! I got to see them in 1985 at the King Biscuit Flower Hour concert in Milwaukee. I still have the drum stick my brother caught at the show! Such memories......
Amen Bro
This is one of those songs I love listening to once in awhile--bringing back those vivid, awesome 80s! I like the hair, and I've never been into long hair! : D
The 80s lion manes were so beautiful!
There were a lot of bands in the 80’s that didn’t get the radio play or recognition.Giuffria was one of those bands.
Love how the singer belts it out. Powerful !
One of the best songs from the early 80's
....My most dangerous years.
何度聞いても素晴らしい。壮大な空間が広がるような、荘厳な響き!夏聞くと涼しくなる。
I’ve always liked songs that rocked hard but end mellow. This is one of them! We need more bands like Guiffria 🎸
Heard this on the radio yesterday - a blast from the past!!
greg giuffria of angel! possibly the best rock keyboard player of all time!
+TheTruthseeker59 Geoff Downes might be the best, this guy is good though.
Don't forget Rick Wakeman
or Derek Sherinian, Keith Emerson, Felix Hanemann, or Josh Silver
or paul taylor!
Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater...hands down! :)...but, I always did love Gregg's playing, especially with Angel.
I still turn up this. Song as Loud as I can! On my tv! On my phone! Still rocking the 80’s and even though I’ll be 56
OMFG!!!...I've been trying to find this song for like 30 Years...I had it on cassette tape but couldn't remember name...So freakin' happy right now!!!
Nothing like the 80's. Best time.
This is nothing short of totally awesome ! I had forgotten all about it until I heard it, and then my teenage brain knew the words right away ;-)
Still a great song and video. David Glen Eisley was a vocal dead-ringer for Steve Perry of Journey, and what a voice!! Always loved this song and still do. 👍🏻
I don't really hear Steve Perry in his voice. To me, he sounds closer to David Coverdale.
I agree with you. He sounds a lot like Steve Perry . And looks similar to Coverdale . Great voice
@@yaboyblacklist2431 LOL he LOOKED like Coverdale, but sounded absolutely nothing like him.
This is frikin music.love it .good job gentleman.well done.
Thanks Ron!!
Giuffria ROCKS! Wish they had more than 2 albums. Yes, another awesome band from the 80's : ]
They have Giuffria 3 release a couple of year ago look on internet.
Another great hit from the 80s.....thankful to be alive during that decade.....
Saw these guys with Deep Purple Jan ‘85 what a treat……and DP was louder than any rock band I have ever heard live….side note saw KISS in the same week. Ears rang for 3 wks.
found this 80's hard rock compilation cd from the local library years back.had this song on there, played this tune over and over
Saw them with Van Halen on March 31, 1986 in Birmingham AL.... have loved them ever since!! Timeless music!!
This sound would have fit perfectly on Journeys Raised on Radio album.
Thank goodness I'm not alone!
Yes!
This song never gets old, tears me up every time I hear it...... one of my ALL TIME favorites!!!
THIS SONG HAS A SPECIFIC MEANING TO ME.....ABOUT A GIRL I LOVE TO THE MOON & BACK!!
IF ONLY SHE KNEW HOW MUCH I STILL CARE ABOUT HER 5YRS LATER....
@@Frankie-qb9fh Awww, me too! Isn’t that amazing how a song can do that?! ♥️💯✨🤘🏻
This disc is sitting in front of me right now. I love Guiffria , House of Lords , And ANGEL ! GREGG was the MAN !
HA! Gotcha beat. I have the cassette...and yes I have several ways to play it!
I saw Giuffria open for Deep Purple back in 1985 Tingley Coliseum, Albuquerque. Great show!
And I love it when the incredible feelings of awe and joy and gratitude
of my tremendous gifts of magic or luck are still so preserved in the time capsule of this band, this video, this song. What an an incredible life I've had.
Oh hellyea 80' rock forever
Great song. Wish i was young again
The hair in this group is most spectacular!
The first few times I heard this I was CONVINCED it was Steve Perry. What a great song.
Também achei amigo que era
I thought it was Steve Perry myself. It does sound like a song Journey would sing
I had a blast in the 80s live concerts all the time even our local schools rocking to speed metal.miss my youthful years.but thank you Lord for even making it this far.had a blast .and alot of memories.thank you.keep rocking👍🙏❤️💯♾️
"Call to the Heart" permeates the center of my soul with every strum, chord, note and pitch-perfect head of hair.
Very well put Ms. Deborah. I find myself listening to this song almost daily.
I wonder what Giuffria thinks of these awful days. This music gives me respite in 2021.
A powerful song even after all these years.
2:50 She sure could light up a room! ⚡🙌⚡
Heard this while jamming in the car to Sirius. Can't believe I forgot this gem! 80's how I miss you!
Pure 80's rock......one of my very favoirites of the genre, and one of my favorites of any genre ! Outstanding song......outstanding vocal......has stood the test of time, and has helped make the music form the 80's, the absolute best music ever made. Thanks, guys ! :-)
i found this album in vinyl, brand new and unopened a few weeks ago at a flea mrkt for 3.00.
