  • What Makes Overdevest Nurseries' Hydrangea Trees So Special?
Points To Consider (and know about), When Buying Your Trees.
David takes us behind the scenes in our nursery, to show us how these breathtakingly beautiful "Mini Trees" are grown.
Join him as he explains the details behind our most popular variety (Hydrangea 'Limelight') and how our growing system enables us to produce exceptional quality specimens that:
    1/ Transplant better
2/ Get off to a quick start
3/ Establish and grow away well
4/ Can be transplanted over a very long planting period
5/ Be stronger growing, more beautiful, longer lasting and more stable later in life
Find out about the special techniques we employ to ensure our trees are so amazingly beautiful
How all the effort, skill and expense results in TOP NOTCH plants that have a superior fibrous root system.
How our experienced growers manage to consistently deliver gorgeous, healthy, bushy and well shaped specimens that are perfect for gardens right across our entire Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region.
And incredibly, how they produce them to be in flower all the way from summer through to late fall!
That means that when you visit our partnering garden centers during this time, you should be able to see and select them in all their glory, and then pick the ones that appeal to you most.

I don't know what to do with my panicle hydrangea. They had long stems with a flower but after I pruned it I have many branches but they put short stems and thin branches..not thick . What am am I doing wrong?

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  День назад +1

Thanks for watching and posting your question, the short answer is that we don't know if you are doing anything wrong!
Some older varieties, naturally have weak spindly stems, and there isn't much you can do to deal with that, except try to provide conditions that do not encourage overly, lush, rank growth, which sometimes means no pruning, and less input!
You might also think about pruning it earlier (late winter or very early spring), cut back on fertilizing, and providing your plants are well rooted in and established, reduce watering and irrigation too. In other words, try to grow your plant a little "harder", so that it produces stockier growth that is less prone to flopping.
To help you some more, can we suggest you take a little time and check out some more of David's videos here on this channel.
He has posted several that provide helpful tips on growing these panicle Hydrangeas.
For instance, there's this one entitled "Complete Guide To Enjoying Panicle Hydrangeas // Hardy, EASY To GROW & Incredibly BEAUTIFUL", this link will help you find it: ruclips.net/video/jLqmDOMPQJs/видео.html
And, then there's this one entitled "How To (or Should You ? ) Prune Hydrangeas in Early Spring": ruclips.net/video/Z6STEztMaAQ/видео.html
that will show you when and how to prune them.
But, the big thing is to grow the right varieties! And that's why we do all our testing and trialing to find the ones that put on a great show and perform best. So, take your time, do your research (there's several other videos here on this channel that show our results and then take yourself over to our partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ where you'll be able to see, touch and admire.... and buy! the ones that appeal to you most.
