Carlos Santana is a great guitarist he always plays awesome solos 🎸🤘👍
To hear Steve Winwood sing this song, your first thought is "Of course, this makes perfect sense" Great remake, really honors the original but brings a new sound and energy to the tune as well. Carlos has always had such a soft touch - a respect for a song, bending it into something new without breaking it...
4/4 instead of 6/8 on the original. sounds better
😍
Absolutely. For years, people mistook Gary Brooker's voice for Steve or Johnny Rivers. No matter who covers it, though, it remains a standout song.
Well put. I really like the hand drums.
Yes indeed

Love the guitar at end AMAZING AS ALWAYS!
😮
Sending prayers for Carlos, he's just had heart surgery. We love you Carlos. To a speedy recovery. ❤️🦢🙏🏼
My favorite vocalist. " Stevie Winwood ". And one of my favorite guitar players and songs. Definitely music from higher up!
Steve Winwood is my favorite all around British musician. I saw him twice live as the opening act for Tom Petty. Carlos Santana is in my top 10 list of my favorite guitarists. I saw him 5 times live. At one of the Edmonton, Alberta concerts, there was someone who was at the Woodstock show. I saw Procol Harum 4 times live with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. This song was always part of the setlist. It would be cool to see Santana and Steve Winwood do this live. Cheers! ✌️
Please tell Santana his playing is as AWEESOME as ever!!! L & R Big Ginger
Steve Winwood and Carlos Santana each defy description and I revere them immensely. While on a long road trip this week, I listened to quite a bit of both Santana and Winwood, and I thought to myself how cool it would be if they collaborated. My brother-in-law mentioned that Santana had a well-received new album, so I downloaded it tonight and when this tune came up I nearly cried when I heard Steve's voice. It's kind of a strange coincidence I was wishing for this, and then here it was.
Fabuleux excellent magnifique
Coincident, I think not🤭
What we need is Winwood, Santana, and Al DiMeola. Between the guitar work, Stevie's organ, and voice, it would be magical.
I just so love A Whiter Shade of Pale since way back my younger days,by Procol Harum 'till now am a granny of 3🥰 But Santana is a guitar maestro for me too!👍🥰💗 And am so bloody glad that he'd come up with this his own cover and w/ the vocalist with him,,just awesome!! Thumbs up!! Love this!😘 That guitar adlibs just simply awesome,,Santana's signature!🥰
This version of the song is one of the best out there. Steve Winwood Is the man!
That’s the Carlos that I have missed for 20 years! Brilliant, soulful, patient. Love the feel of the song and Steve, outstanding as usual!
Also awesome sauce: Why
Can't We Live Together

I love this version, is really beautiful... the percussion is perfect and the guitar is very emotive 👌👌👌
Fantastic rendition of a great song. Santana and Steve Winwood, what a tremendous matchup.
The covers that Carlos does are amazing from this to She's Not There just WOW
the original is gods Procol Harum
Deu um novo ritmo
I've always liked this song, now I love it
Funny. I was so sick of it. But this is a gift of incalculable value.
Wow~~~~~ I am moved to hear my favorite song through Santana. Carlos Santana is the best, always new and cool no matter the years. 😘😘😘👍👍👍👍

God bless Gary Brooker!
Two of my most favorite artists - Carlos Santana and Steve Winwood. What a great recording!
Two magic Musicians killing this soul grabbing tune, mucho amor♾
Hello, how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
What a combo! Two great classic musicians and songwriters, playing together. The styles of Santana and Winwood's blend together so well. Even at this stage in their careers, its interesting just to imagine what songs they could create, working together on a project
Mmmmmm, Procol Harum…….. this has always been one of my favorite songs…….wow….memories……hhmmm, damn I went and got old!
This is a superb rendering, Carlos….as always…just amazing and Steve Winwood nice to hear them together again…so good!
Hello, how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
I will always love Gary Brooker and Procol Harum singing this song but DAMN this sounds great!
I love Carlos and he has been part of my life in so many ways through his awesome music I wonder if he knows how
Much he’s loved!
Steve Winwood does still have a magical voice, this song is bound to cause a real traffic jam with fiery guitar solos by Carlos and really reinventing this wonderful song, but then again whichever song Carlos touches on is magic👍
Yep a real Traffic jam
Wonder how many people will get this? 🤔 Traffic jam 😆
My first album I bought with my paycheck when I was a teen working at the Denver Airport in the early 70s, Low Spark of High Heel Boys! ❤️
@@midwestslotdiva good one
I see what you did there...:-)
Superb mind blowing
I Love it your AWESOMELY Wonderful!!! God Bless Everyone!! WHOOHOO
The legend remixing a classic!
Super natural .
Steve Winwood's vocals are hot. The rest of it sounds like other instruments recorded over a sample of the original
song. Doesn't seem to fit.
We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, 'There is no reason'
And the truth is plain to see
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might have just as well've been closed
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
And so it was that later
Thank you.
It would be hard to top the original of an all-time great song by Procol Harum, but this is as close as you could come. Love it!
Two legends, still in damn good form!
Carlos Santana,man with a feel
Ki ora, greetings new Zealand, thank u bro, what a blessing to hav your music to enlightened humanity in the here an now, unconditional luv
Definitely going on the daily list. :) My 2 favourites. Now how about Higher Love? lol :)

two classic greats.. love them both, and respect their tremendous craft skill at their craft...even on a nonsensical song of no meaning!!!
A nonsensical song ? Well, I'm not sure, but is this song not based on some music by Bach ?

@@adamglatt9484 thanks ! That was fascinating.
Santana's guitar playing is so distinct! 🔥
His guitar echoes feelings perfectly. The first - and by far the best show I've ever seen. Junior high - and I FINALLY got a date with a girl I'd been after since school started. He started playing and I ignored her all night. He was that mesmerizing. I never got another date with her, and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it!
Que versão maravilhosa! Eu amei demais!!!!! 💝💝💝💝💯🎸🎸🎸🏵️🎇👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇧🇷🎵
Sinistro parceirinha
Wow - They made a 'danceable' version of A Whiter Shade of Pale... But was it necessary?
It was always a (slow) dance number.
Gracias por compartir Dios te bendiga siempre y yo soy tu fans enamorada cantas y tocas tu bella guitarra eres increíble samba pa ti lo bailé jovencita gracias a Dios bendiciones bravoooo 🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏♥️😘😘😘

📣
Santana and Winwood, both masters of their artistry. However, this song will forever be Procol Harum's Signature. Not talking this version down, just saying.
Hoy mi guitarrista favorito , junto a Tony Iomi

Hello;
thanks for being a great fan over the years. How are you doing
In a book of death not playing
I wish Steve had done this track back on the 60's
SO GREAT..
SO POSITIVE..
With STEVE WINWOOD...
Just like heaven
🔥
DFMO. . .
Love This. Swaying in my seat the whole time 💖
Man what a voice and those fills by Carlos are sublime, great feel. Procol Harum was good they popularised this tune, but let's not forget Bach who really composed this. Bach is applauding for you Carlos, you honner him.
What a VOICE, Love Carlos and Steve for many, many, many years
Santana will keep the Crowds on their feet Dancing as Always A Professional Performer Born with (Gift) he has been Granted the Special Gift with Love From Above-Amen Go at it Again Maestro!!
Both of you are fantastic and beautiful song !
What a awesome grove!! 😊👍🎵🎶😎✌️🎸
Very good, Mister Carlos -- excelente -- and Mister Steve. It is very nice to hear both of you together in this standard.
Carlos beautifies everything he touches. Thank you Carlos for your spirituality and luminosity.
i wonder who the
guitarist is on this
track...because he
sounds quite good.
Just some dude. Maybe if he keeps it up he'll have a solid career ahead of him.
@@flyinpigmusic331 ;DDD
It is Carlos Santana on the guitar, it is his signature style.

Is this a relative of
the Santana that
played at the
Woodstock Festival
in the 1960's then...
his grandson maybe?
@@badvladtheimpaler3696 It is the same very person who played at woodstock the song" soul sacrifice." He has gone bald so he is always wearing a hat . His full name is Devadip Carlos Santana.

Hello; thanks for being a great fan over the years. How are you doing
Belleza de interpretación...
Every thing Senor Carlos does is cool😅
1967 von Procol Harum präsentiert. Diese Version ist sehr gut gelungen. Daumen hoch & Danke!
Thank You Santana 💕🖤👑🎼
Hello;
thanks for being a great fan over the years. How are you doing
Completely missed the dynamics of the song.
✌🙏 💖❤ 🌷🌹 🎵🎶
Santana is no guitar monster, yet he is so reliable in his way of "talking" with his instrument. You always recognize him like you recognize the voice of a friend. Very soothing, very touching!
His spirit flows thru the guitar. I feel the emotion of his playing.
He is actually a guitar monster-check out his album with John McLaughlin-A Love Supreme.Shredding beyond anything the youth can imagine or do today.
@@andrelotter9590 definitely a guitar monster, one of the best.

Beautiful 🔥🎶🔥🎵🔥🎸
Love the way you did this song 🎵 ❤
Hello;
thanks for being a great fan over the years. How are you doing
Very cool collaboration. Gives a classic a revived feel.
The drum machine messed up the song. Just another forgettable rendition of this song. Procol Harum still shows you can't beat nor equal an original song.

@@anthonyrecascino6030 Such as Sarah Brightman, Annie Lennox, Willie Nelson with Waylon Jennings, and so on. They had a hit with their version of this song.
"PRICELESS" !!!!
One of my beloved songs since I first heard in 1967 by Procul Harum. Peace & love from Malaysia.💌💌💌
