Yes! Thinking that once I decluttered I would never have to really do it again. But things worm their way in 😆 so it has to be more of a lifestyle habit to get rid of things
I was feeling pretty good about myself until the “wanting to sell everything vs. donate.” 😅 But your point is SO true! The waste was spending the money in the first place. So now I chose to find a way to bless someone.
Yes, I just tried to sell stuff on FB and it was a waste of time. Just donated all yesterday to a local charity. I am still learning but you get better at decluttering the more regularly you do it and as you evaluate each life season for you and your family❤
Looking forward to taking the digital detox challenge...going to set my sights on a one month challenge and see how that goes first. My spouse and I recently started parking our phones in the same space where they "live" (in a cupboard out of sight but where we can still here them ring). Just parking them there has reduced our online use and reduced stress/getting sucked in/being distracted/time suck etc. I think it's so important to pay attention to how we feel; not just material things we acquire or with food,/drink, but also with other things we consume-music, movies, the news! Thanks Jessica, I'm inspired to try decluttering digitally!
Thank you for this video!!! Great points especially liked the #2. Im 54 and live in a cold climate and enjoy the outdoors so the things I would hold onto are not the same things someone else would. I guess the thing I need to work on is how to organize those things. 😀
Wow! I love your Videos❤❤ its so true. I am overwhelmed right now with all my stuff. I moved 3 Months ago in a smaller place and "still" (yes I also have a time problem.. 😂) not finished. Your Videos are helping a lot!❤
Minimalism is something you do for the peace of mind. You define it based on what you want from your life. There are no rules or patterns to follow. You decide how you wanna create that space for yourself.
Thanks, Jess! I am "watching with my ears" as I am going through a clean laundry basket, along with a pile for regifting (to folks who have other colors/designs of my previous regiftings) & a kitchen trash bag for donations. 😊❤
Such a fantastic video I have made these mistakes as well! Just uploaded a heap of things to marketplace and thought why am I bothering with this I have to redownload FB for it as well donating today ❤🎉
So I’ve recently repurchased several things I’ve decluttered in the past 😬 everyone is always like “you’ll never regret decluttering!!” but I find that’s not always the case. How can I find more of a balance? Of course I will say that 80-90% of what I’ve decluttered I do NOT regret. I guess there’s a small price to pay to have a simple, minimalist home ❤
Ive experienced this! There have definitely been things, but it's a small minority. I'm not sure if it's ever going to be perfect, maybe over time we get better at making those decisions?
I understand. The minimal mom (you tube) says to allow yourself $100 per year to buy what you may have decluttered and need to re-purchase. But the benefits of decluttering far outweigh the possibility of needing to re-buy. Hope that helps!
I wish I learned that the container could be a natural stuff boundary. For examp!e, the toy box fits a certain amount of toys and that is all we do. We don't buy another toy box.
I’m definitely struggling with trying to sell as much as I can. I’ve got loads of things listed on vinted and marketplace and have given lots away to friends, charity and people in the local community. My house isn’t really cluttered, it’s my attic space. Things I’ve kept hold of for years like the boys toys, birthday cards, piles of photos, sports equipment, computer consoles, books, dvd’s and so on. Maybe I’ll give myself a cut off, 2 more weeks of selling then the rest gets donated ❤
I've done several yard sales in the past as my daughter was outgrowing toys and clothing but I've only sold a couple of bulky items online because it works out to have the buyer help remove it from the home. Now, I just donate clothing to churches that have their own little thrift shop and other items go to fundraisers held by a local animal rescue.
I think I have a medium! Its hand wash only so i assume if you do that it will last. it definitely feels on the more sturdy end because it feels almost corduroy. Definitely not the light cotton that tears easily. I def wouldn't machine wash though!
Is there anything you wish you knew??

I'd love to hear how you addressed your spending habits if you were willing to share! That's an area that I need a lot of work/healing in!
yes! I ahve a video titles "how i broke my shopping addiction" that covers it all!

yes i can see how much better it is to sell those large items in person!
You are looking great today
If it does not sell more than 20-30 bucks I don't even bother and just donate it, it's so much energy and you never get the stuff out of your house...
so true!
Fantastic
I know this is not the point of the video… but your dress is gorgeous! Wondering if you know where you found it? ❤
How well is the dress from neuroflora? I would love higher quality dresses . Hows the sizing

Donating versus selling. Agree. HUGE DRAIN. And keeps the clutter in place. AND makes another whole category of clutter.
yes!
Sorry still got my sleep where on well something like that just wanted you to no , I'm single live alone
