    Rage
    Baby #5 on the way and this still helped me so much. My oldest is 9 and I wish I knew better self-regulation. I definitely was not taught by my parents. I can get by most days, but often I am just getting stuff done. I am not slowing down and really savoring the shortness of these years because they are so hard and I am just trying to get through them. This helped me realize I need to work harder on acquiring the tools I need to regulate myself so I can be a present mother. Thank you 🙏

    Respect! There's so much you can save $$ on. Almost anything DIY if you have the time will save a lot of money. Some things that come to mind for me is making hand soap (just castile soap, a little olive oil and just water to a foam pump; castile soap can be used to clean a lot in addition to diluted rubbing alcohol for granite countertops/vinegar for bathroom cleaning); no more essential oils (overrated), thrifting/getting things at estate sales (estate sales are the best - people lived and loved those items and they're cheaper/better quality than what you can get at the store or online these days); minimizing beauty/skin/hair products (I use rhassoul clay to exfoliate and bison tallow/castor oil to moisturize, other than that I only have argan oil - love to keep my skin & hair routine simple and castor oil is a miracle oil with a ton of uses); stopping most supplements and getting to root causes like you mentioned - diet, exercise, sleep, stress, sunlight, loving relationships). RUclips is super helpful for self-education vs. buying programs too. Eliminating the consumerism mindset is liberating for the soul and the pocketbook, you feel less owned by the things you do buy and I find I appreciate what I make and have more now. Thank you - automatic sub!

    I agree sunlight is important, however I 100% disagree about stopping using sunglasses. I have blue eyes and there are some days that are just too bright for my eyes even with a hat. I wear them maybe 25% (or less I am forgetful and suffer for it lol) of the time but when I need them I need them.

      I have blue eyes and I used to wear sunglasses all the time. I realized that I was dependent on them in situations where other people weren’t. I didn’t like feeling like I had crippled my eyes’ capability so I completely stopped wearing sunglasses. My eyes did readjust to life without them. At this point I happily wear sunglasses once or twice a year.

    Some of these we already do ourselves! However I do buy some conscience items and we do not have space to buy meat in bulk sadly. Something I would love to move towards in the next few years for sure! I also love thrifting my children’s clothes! I kept most of what my first daughter wore and now my second when she’s born next month gets to wear all those again and it makes my heart so full 🥰❤️ also, stopped buying laundry detergent! I make it at home with 4 ingredients! Epsom salt, sea salt, washing soda, and baking soda! Sometimes if the load is really nasty I splash in vinegar but yes! I want to move towards being more mindful about what we bring into our home and how we manage our home and these were lots of great ideas! Blessings 🙏🏼

      Murphy's for laundry, dissolving blood stains, wiping down the countertops too, & kitchen sinks. Also countertops ,with a microfiber cloth dampened first. Salt or bicarb for scrubbing pots. There's a low cost dish detergent called called Pinalen which will clean your oven by letting it sit for a few minutes and then wiping off. I've been using fabric softener to break down the blue stains left from one of those thingies you drop in the toilet tank -- not by me. It's taking a while but it's working. Acts as a room freshener too.

    Jessica, love your videos but totally disagree with the sunglasses issue. My brother-in-law, an eye doctor jokes that people who don't wear them is what guarantees that he will stay in business removing cataracts... 'When you spend time in the sun without adequate protection, you may be more likely to develop a variety of eye issues, ranging from corneal "sunburns" to cataracts. Eye conditions associated with sun exposure include: Photokeratitis: Photokeratitis occurs when your corneas are exposed to intense sunlight.'

      A bar of soap or a rag work. It kinda goes back to the idea of changing your pH with vaginal products though. Your skin has a microbiome that helps protect, so if you use a bunch of products it winds up killing off the natural protection and opens you up to fungal and bacterial infections.

    Be carewful with scents. You did not mention this one I think but one thing I recommend not buying are perfumes or any scented things (especially synthetic). I have asthma and smelling people's perfumes is very triggering to my lungs. I also get horrible headaches. Also the typical supermarket detergents, cleaning products... Most people do not notice it because they are so used to them but sensitive people can have serious health problems because of that. Try to only purchase organic, environmentally friendly products.
    THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING Nr. 7!
    Vagina is the inside, the canal, vulva is the outside.
    Girls/women: only use water to wash your vulva. Anything else is bad for the flora. Like she said in the video, they tell us we are supposed to smell good (of roses, strawberries...). No. Vulvas are supposed to smell like VULVAS.
    If there is a weird smell coming from down there, go see a doctor because there might be something going on.
    If anybody has a problem with your natural smell (as long as you are being hygienic, of course), tell them to grow up and to go home.
    Yay to period pads! I love my menstrual disc too.
    Thanks for mentioning non-toxic beauty products. Anything we buy should be non-toxic. They might be more expensive but if we only buy what we need and we do not waste, it'll cost the same as getting a million different ones from cheap brands. Go zero-waste and plant-based with those products.
    If you wanna save up even more money, do not buy animal products. You avoid cruelty (because "humane" meat does not exist, there is still cruelty behind the practice).
    Single use products: bye! What a waste of money and space.
    I love the idea of using upcycled jars instead of buying glasses. I heard about this a while ago and oh, boy, why didn't I think about that before???
    I have never worn heels, I find them ridiculous and soooo unhealthy. I only wear barefoot shoes now.
    I do think sunlight is important but if my eyes hurt because of it, I think I'd rather protect them.
    There are websites where you can find audiobooks in professional quality for free if you know where to look. I still have many books, most of them used, but I still have way too many and most of them I can listen to for free so I am gonna try and sell them.
    Cool video. Thanks for sharing.

    I always wondered why people buy baby food. Why not just chop up smaller portions of whatever the parents are eating? I can't stand make-up so don't wear any of it. I do use sunglasses somtimes, but that's only because they're UK shields and the sun is too bright.

  • @kerrydesilets4226
    @kerrydesilets4226 3 дня назад

    I also chose to quit wearing sunglasses full time after looking into the surge of children with myopia. It's a result of lack of bright, indirect light. Carrot family vegetables (like hogweed) make you susceptible to sunburn, including your eyes.

    • @SpeakTruthBeKind
      @SpeakTruthBeKind 5 месяцев назад +1

      My understanding is that your skin absorbs the sunlight and converts it to Vitamin D so actually it is sunscreen that interferes with Vitamin D conversion. But if you live in an area where it rains a lot you may still need Vitamin D supplements. So important for bone health among other things. ❤

      How does this have anything to do with her working outside the home, also why are you implying that working inside the home is less important or of value? Seems like an unnecessary comment.

    • @PIF95
      @PIF95 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@oliviahallum5151 I never said it was less valuable.
      I’m just saying that she has an ability to do these things mainly because she doesn’t work outside the home. If she worked outside the home, she wouldn’t have the time to do all these things. So this really doesn’t apply to most people, only to those who are privileged enough to have one partner staying at home all day.
