It's inspiring to see how slow living has shaped your perspective and lifestyle. Your honesty about what worked and what didn’t makes it so relatable. Thank you for sharing your insights! 🌻

I love the idea of determining our own tempo. My partner has ADHD with seemingly boundless energy and is very successful in a job that rewards the hustle. I have a low functioning thyroid and prefer to work slowly and methodically. Our 2 styles complement each other well when doing projects around the house or even grocery shopping because we try to meet in the middle and balance each other out.

ME TOO - the freedom to determine temp makes so much sense and is so comforting. My husband also has ADHD, and I definitely resonate with your experience - it's taken us a bit to figure out a rhythm that works, but it's actually kinda fun and helpful that we're different in that area!! Balancing each other out is the perfect way to say it :)

"I didn't realize how often I didn't have two feet into my own life" WOW me too. Sounds insane when you put it that way.

Love this! Such a good reminder and points. As an “older mom” (my kids are 5 and 8), I would say there are definite seasons of slow living and some that are not as slow 😅. But definitely more meaning, more love, more empathy, more growth. It’s the best and I’m happy for you! I would love to hear how/if your relationship to your phone changed during this year.

that totally makes sense haha. I'm trying to let go of expectations for motherhood - in theory, making peace with each season being what it is, but also know that that's easier said than done haha. So excited for it all though! And YES - I'm planning on posting a video all about my phone/technology shifts & habits in early December!!

I love the concept of a conscious choice for the tempo of life, And that days can be different. So much learning to celebrate in this past year. And a baby will bring so many more opportunities to learn of the very best kind…

I hadn’t seen your pregnancy announcement video- congratulations and wishing you all the very best! ❤
Edit: I hadn’t acknowledged that I also have all-or-nothing thinking around productivity and success. So jarring to suddenly realise that’s definitely where I fit too though - and since I rarely have 100% in me these days, you can guess where I’ve been stuck at instead. 😔 I heard recently of a book called Tiny Habits which is similar to Atomic Habits but with more of a focus on cheering yourself on for every small win and building up that momentum and strength of muscle for doing things, small or big. This video is a great reminder that I want to read that (there’s also a TED talk by the author I believe which I’ll have to go watch too!) - I mention it in case it might help you (or someone reading this) too!
