Thanks a lot, Luke. Some wonderful old soul lines to play around with. Loving your series of videos as a retired person getting back into music. Just bought a Harley Benton VT series bass and learning keyboards, too!
Another fantastic themed lesson Luke. I enjoyed this one. And I like the Stax t-shirt. Nice touch. Duck Dunn is a favorite of mine. Nice selection of songs and a bit on the more challenging side, which is good. Thanks!
I was 23 years old, playing gigs in a honkey tonk bar band and I played the songs just like the tape. But I wanted more...The Internet wasn't invented yet, when I went to ask for lessons from the local B.I.T. graduate at the music store,he said "Your doing fine, just learn a song a week..."I'm not gonna do that!
When I play Nina Simone’s ‘Baltimore’… I end up on a 40 minute, bass playing odyssey. Black Sabbath’s ‘Planet Caravan’, is fun too. Once I learned to play a couple patterns , it’s kinda like I leveled up.
hey there, I would appreciate it a lot of you could tell me what series/year of the spector bass you are using here. I'm from america and have been looking for it but can't find it anywhere.
I'm afraid I'm not 100% sure @Max Cruz - I bought it from a friend 2nd hand and don't really know the details. There's just a thing written on the back of the headstock saying that it was made in the Czech Republic.
What are your own ‘go-to’ soul bass lines?
Thanks Luke. Enjoyed this lesson as always. Some great songs to play along to.
My pleasure @Ruth Kearin! Glad you enjoy them.
Thanks Luke, I love old Soul being an old soul myself

Hello! What is the model and specifications of your Spector bass?
In this video, it's a Spector Euro (NS-2 I think - I can't remember exactly)
I think it’s a Spector Euro 4LX in spalted maple.
I'm trying to find that model of Spector bass about two years. Where did you bought it?
@Jura V - I bought this bass 2nd hand from a friend of mine. I'm not sure where he got it though.
@@BecomeABassist Thank you for the information!
