Have you visited Spokane, Washington? If so, what places did we miss during this trip that we should add to our list for our next trip to Spokane? Let us know in the comments below! :)
Be sure to check out Manito Park (conservatory, Japanese garden, pond, rose garden, lilac garden, Duncan garden). Also, Old European for the best breakfast/brunch. Other places to check out in Eastern Washington: Palouse Falls, Steptoe Butte, Gardner Caves in Crawford State Park (Boundary Dam too if they start tours again). A little further away in Idaho, check out the bald eagles at Higgins Point in Couer d'Alene (seasonal in the winter...be sure to stop by Meltz when in CdA... Best "grilled cheese" sandwiches in the country), Hiawatha Bike Trail and Wallace, Idaho (in the summer).

Born and raised and I love spokane and its beauty. People who say they hate this city. It's the people they associate with not the city itself and to be honest they can leave, spokane has gotten huge since I was a kid and we don't need assholes populating it.
It always cracks me up when people move here (especially before the Internet) & they always thought it was going to be some Hicksville! But they are always very Happily Amazed at how wrong they were. It's crazy how tourists come and say how amazing spokane is, while I'm sitting here like, "I went to finch elementary, I grew up 2 blocks from the flying goat for 15 years." And not even thinking anything special about it.

It's a great place to live if you are a medical pro as there are plenty of medical jobs but the rest of the job market is abysmal at best, most of the city is dirty, crime ridden, has a large supply of homeless, drugs, and the cost of living has skyrocketed in recent years with the income not rising to meet the demand. Get in, have fun and get out while you can.
@@generalcaeser9176 is it dangerous.. as in you could get targeted and robbed in the wrong neighborhood like Chicago? Or is it more just dirtiness and petty crime like vandalism?
@@templeguard1276 There are some neighborhoods you just don't go to especially at night but other than that, it's way safer than Lightfoot's Chicago. It has higher than average petty crime and even murders but on a much lower scale than nasty Chicago. If you can afford a house over $350k (in today's market) and know the places to avoid, you can live pretty safely. As beautiful as it is, it's super dirty and loads of bums, meth heads and more than it's fair share of nuts. But then again after living in a fast paced city for 22 years, I've been blessed to be out of it and into a peaceful, small, more affordable, and much safer environment. I'll take the Mayberry small town livin' any day. =)
New friend here to watch your video and send you my full support. Thank you for sharing your amazing video. I have been in Spokane Washington for a short time. I liked it there. Thank you for sharing. I will revisit there someday. Big like 👍. Stay connected
I went to Spokane a lot as a kid and never thought much of it. After traveling the world a bit I'm trying to find somewhere happy and friendly to live. Spokane may have made the list of considerations haha
Loved it definitely have to check out the flying goat pizza, the pizza you ordered looked and sounds so yummy 😋. I still new to the area and will be definitely checking out green bluff thanks for sharing with all of us 🇺🇸
You forgot, skiing on 4 mtn, lakes for camping, water skiing, best orchards for apples, peaches, cherries etc. 4 seasons. Twisty roads for great motorcycle days.
I was born and raised in Spokane, I left at an early age and joined the Marines. I have been all over the world . There is not many places with the same charm. I am a North Carolinian now, but occasionally I get to take the family I have built with my amazing wfie to visit. Last visited May 2017.
If you love huckleberry you HAVE to go to Elk River Idaho. It is the smallest place ever in the middle of no where BUT it is sooooo worth it. They have soft serve huckleberry ice cream. You can get just a sugar cone, waffle cone, sundae, shake or just in a cup/bowl!!!!!!
I live in Spokane so I was so surprised to see this video!! I live in transitional shelter for women and children right now but I've been here for 2 years and I love it. Searching for a house before my lease is up here in April 2022!
I love Spokane because my family and I moved here 3 years ago! I love Indaba too- their peppermint tea is bomb! I have only been to the one in downtown. Those pumpkin donuts looked yummy and that is cool to be able to watch them make it
It's so weird seeing these locations and being like wow I pass those places everyday haha glad you guys enjoyed Spokane it isn't for everyone but for me I love the fall season just beautiful with the trees turning colors.
Whoa I was not expecting to see a video about this place. I love this town. When I tell people where I'm from when I'm traveling they don't know what I'm talking about.
Donut Parade! It's been around forever and was closed for a while, but recently restarted by some good friends of mine! Also check out Page 42 down the block, it's a cute little book shop run by some super friendly people!
I absolutely love these small-city / town visits you guys do. Nearly every one of them goes on my list of places to visit when I get on the road. Thanks!!
We LOVE hearing that! So glad the videos are proving to be helpful planning your own travels. :) We have more small town/mid size city tours planned for the coming weeks so stay tuned. :)
Really enjoyed your video. Will be visiting Spokane soon. We have a traveling dog also so it's nice to see the things one can do with a furry companion.
We love Spokane Washington, we live close to the Cascades, and travel to Spokane frequently. There’s always something to do and see. In fact, we just returned about an hour ago
You guys should also visit liberty lake and stevens creek. also the bowl and pitcher! theyre all extremely amazing and beautiful places! im from cheney, which is a small city just 20 minutes from spokane. ive been living in the spokane area for almost 3 decades. never want to leave :)
June you can pick strawberries and in August Peaches. When the snow hits go up to Mt. Spokane ski resort. Bloomsday, Pig out at the park and other events are wonderful...but covid has hit them hard.
We finally made it to Mary Lou's Milk Bottle last night. Only took us 5 months of living here. LOL (Combined it with a showing of The Breakfast Club at Garland movie theater a half block away.) Observations: The huckleberry milkshake is indeed delicious. Only had huckleberries once before, a couple weeks before in Wallace, Idaho. Ordered it with the burger for dinner. Recommendation: get the extra patty upgrade for a couple bucks more. It is worth it. Indeed the people in Spokane do seem to be nicer than most other places. We were standing on the corner taking a selfie and some random person in a car stopped, rolled down the window, and yelled, "You two are SO cute." In Los Angeles or Las Vegas, it would not have been such a friendly comment.
@@kristenj988 ya but from what I’ve read and seen by checking weather it always shows clouds or snow very little sun. So just was wondering how many days of sun do you get during winter
@@BeastModeFitness11 oh lol a few days a week. Depends on the year really. Lots of snow and overcast this year but not so much in years past. Just last month it was snowing but if I turned around there was blue sky, that was a 1st for me lol
You did a great job highlighting some of the amazing places in and around Spokane. I saw that you did the three peaks hike on mount Spokane next time you should try Bowl and Pitcher. There are 200+ trails around Spokane and each one is beautiful in its own way. In addition Spokane has so much amazing food but I highly recommend the eat good group.
@@BeastModeFitness11 weird. We have had lots of snow lately so on those days we might not have much sun when it’s physically snowing. But we have nice sunny days often in the winter. Have you ever been here?
I like indaba.. but mine and local staple coffee shops are Atticus, Rockwood Bakery, Boots Bakery, the rocket on 1st and cedar or the one in the garland district. Also the milk bottle has been there forever.. it’s in the movie Benny and Joon with Johnny Depp. And check out the Garland theater! I practically grew up there. It’s a discount theater that’s been there since my mom was a kid. On tuesdays they play old movies for 2.50.
It’s nice to see somebody who doesn’t live here still enjoy Spokane as much as we do because I feel like not a lot of people making videos of their visit in things like that I think we get over shadowed by Seattle sometimes I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to the wonderful Spokane
My son started at Whitworth U dis year. Got 2 go visit n loved it. I can't wait 2 go back. Manito Park n da Night Market at Kendall Yards was my favs, my sons got to go tubing down da river...Da Scoop has an organic Very Berry Coconut Gelato dats 2 die 4.
My Dad and Step Mom moved to Spokane in 2012 and every time I come there’s always something I find that I love. I live in Seattle now but I definitely want to relocate once I’m ready to settle down
This makes me homesick... Haven't lived there in years and I know most of Spokane like the back of my hand but it just keeps growing and changing and it doesn't feel like "mine" when I visit anymore 😭
There are actually two milk bottles, one by the freeway downtown, and this location in Garland neighborhood. Only the one in Garland is a restaurant. So yummy 😋
@@BeastModeFitness11 we do maybe 60/40 last week we had 2 n a half days of blue skies n sun so bright I was sure it was much nicer than the 25° F that I stepped out it... stood out in the sunshine till I have to run back in before I got frozen... ice cold vitamin D 😉
Lots of things to see in Spokane on your next trip, like the Expo '74 grounds (where the giant Radio Flyer sits by the river); Gonzaga University and the early home of singer Bing Crosby (he also had a home on nearby Hayden Lake); and also don't miss the calzone at Pete's Pizza, which is also near Gonzaga. What else? The Spokane River Falls during winter runoff!
I was born here in Spokane but mainly grew up in southern California. We moved back in 1970, and I have loved living in Spokane ever since. There are so many unique places all over the city, and we even thank our bus drivers when we get off. Most of the people here in Spokane are friendly and happy to help a lost visitor. Be sure to check out The Davenport Hotel, which was restored in 2002. It is historic and absolutely gorgeous.
Can anyone tell me the truth about the crime and drug use? Is it really as bad as the stats suggest, that you're very likely of getting something stolen from you or that you may find a drug needle on the floor? Please help, thinking about moving there.
The other day while driving downtown we watched a homeless man shoot up, we then had a road rage incident with a man on the freeway. He was flashing gang signs. Spokane is a shit hole. People like to make it out like it’s something special. I’ve lived here for 20 years, it’s only getting worse. The drivers here are the worst and the infrastructure isn’t growing enough for the expanding population. Move somewhere else.
I think for the most part the drug problems are exaggerated -- I personally don't witness it on a day-to-day basis -- BUT I will say that the top crime I've seen issues with is car thievery and break-ins. It's happened to several of my friends, and I've been warned by long-term residents that it's an issue no matter where you go in Spokane.
I lived in Spokane for 5 years and man! There’s so many things I love about this video I worked at the convention center which is that big building across from riverfront park and I was semi gagging when it was in frame I’ve never been to the flying goat! There are so many hole in the wall places that I’ve never even tried that one The milk bottle is key
It's too bad one of the best places to eat closed. Rocky Rococo's. It was a great pizza/pasta place with a nice all you can eat salad bar. The place was small with cozy seating. It had a converted beautiful old telephone booth. The restaurant used to be a movie theater long ago and still had what I believe to be Fred and Ginger dancing painted on a wall from when it was still a theater. It was a shame that this place that has been around for 35 years is now gone. I miss the food there so much. I'm sure many people miss that place. It was one of the best places to go in Spokane.
You guys were painfully close to art alley in Garland! Maybe you guys checked it out on your own time but if you didn’t, it’s definitely worth a wander next time!

Thank you so much for following along! Spokane was such a fun place to visit!
i lived iun NY, weswtern NY and never knew how big the apple induatry was in WA, unti I moved out here. I love living in Waashington.
Have you tried Denardi's pizza in Spokane? Its NY style pizza.
I went to Spokane a lot as a kid and never thought much of it. After traveling the world a bit I'm trying to find somewhere happy and friendly to live. Spokane may have made the list of considerations haha
I’m so happy you love The Flying Goat!! That’s my stomping grounds and we LOVE The Goat!! Good choice!
Yes! It was amazing!!
Loved it definitely have to check out the flying goat pizza, the pizza you ordered looked and sounds so yummy 😋. I still new to the area and will be definitely checking out green bluff thanks for sharing with all of us 🇺🇸
Yes, we highly recommend it!!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
waving "hi" from just north of Spokane at diamond lake. I've never been to the flying goat & will have to check it out:)
Hello! Yes, we definitely recommend it!
You forgot, skiing on 4 mtn, lakes for camping, water skiing, best orchards for apples, peaches, cherries etc. 4 seasons. Twisty roads for great motorcycle days.
We will definitely have to go back for all of that!
How was winter weather does the sun ever come out ??
Hi Chris and Sara, thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful video. Congrats and greetings from Colombia.
There was two Milkbottle restaurants but the second one downtown closed sometime ago.
I was born and raised in Spokane, I left at an early age and joined the Marines. I have been all over the world . There is not many places with the same charm. I am a North Carolinian now, but occasionally I get to take the family I have built with my amazing wfie to visit. Last visited May 2017.
It's hard to beat the beauty of Washington! ❤
Flying Goat is beyond words. Hands down best pizza I've had to date
Agreed!
Moved to Spokane 4 years ago and love it! You need to try Tomato Street on Division. Love their lasagna
Thanks for the recommendation!
Moved here 3 years ago and love it!
The best lasagna EVER !!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
Next door to the milk bottle where you got your shake is Ferguson's cafe, where part of the Johnny Depp movie "Benny and Joon" was filmed
I moved to Spokane 3 years ago, and now I call it home.😊
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
If you love huckleberry you HAVE to go to Elk River Idaho. It is the smallest place ever in the middle of no where BUT it is sooooo worth it. They have soft serve huckleberry ice cream. You can get just a sugar cone, waffle cone, sundae, shake or just in a cup/bowl!!!!!!
That sounds amazing!
I live in Spokane so I was so surprised to see this video!! I live in transitional shelter for women and children right now but I've been here for 2 years and I love it. Searching for a house before my lease is up here in April 2022!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
You gave my memory's of spokane back😢😮😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!!! My backyard baby!! Thanks guys!!!
I love Spokane because my family and I moved here 3 years ago!
I love Indaba too- their peppermint tea is bomb! I have only been to the one in downtown. Those pumpkin donuts looked yummy and that is cool to be able to watch them make it
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
It's so weird seeing these locations and being like wow I pass those places everyday haha glad you guys enjoyed Spokane it isn't for everyone but for me I love the fall season just beautiful with the trees turning colors.
Whoa I was not expecting to see a video about this place. I love this town. When I tell people where I'm from when I'm traveling they don't know what I'm talking about.
Donut Parade! It's been around forever and was closed for a while, but recently restarted by some good friends of mine! Also check out Page 42 down the block, it's a cute little book shop run by some super friendly people!
Great recommendation, thanks!
I just love spokane! So glad you could visit.
Enjoy!
We love Spokane Washington, we live close to the Cascades, and travel to Spokane frequently. There’s always something to do and see. In fact, we just returned about an hour ago
We loved our time there, agree that there is so much to do and see!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
Spokane washington is very cool. I love spokane. I live only an hour and a half away from spokane
How was winter weather does the sun ever come out ??

You guys should also visit liberty lake and stevens creek. also the bowl and pitcher! theyre all extremely amazing and beautiful places! im from cheney, which is a small city just 20 minutes from spokane. ive been living in the spokane area for almost 3 decades. never want to leave :)
Thanks for the recommendations, we will have to add them to the list!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
Great video! Your highlights were super. There is lots more to appreciate , maybe you could cover the arts scene, parks or sports next time.
June you can pick strawberries and in August Peaches. When the snow hits go up to Mt. Spokane ski resort. Bloomsday, Pig out at the park and other events are wonderful...but covid has hit them hard.
All such great ideas, thank you!
Does the sun ever come out during winter months ???
@@BeastModeFitness11 Sure. It's for less time and can be quite cold...but we see the sun on occasion.
Yeah The Flying Goat is pretty great my parents introduced me to it, and I’ve introduced friends to it. :)
Some of the best pizza we've ever had!
You guys are totally right about the pizza! I just got the pizza and it’s amazing!
Right? It's amazing!
Why does this give me all the feels. I live a couple hours outside of Spokane but travel there often. Crazy to see it depicted like this.
Randomly on my feed. i dig i live in spokane. moved from the bay area up here its beautiful.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks to your great vid I Spokane just made my travel bucket list!!!
yay so glad!
Mystic falls, Indian trails! Cutest little walk up a creek to the most precious tiny waterfall you can walk up to.
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
We finally made it to Mary Lou's Milk Bottle last night. Only took us 5 months of living here. LOL (Combined it with a showing of The Breakfast Club at Garland movie theater a half block away.)
Observations: The huckleberry milkshake is indeed delicious.
I live in Spokane and love it.
I've lived in spokane my whole life! This was a really fun video! My sisters wedding was at high county orchard!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
@@BeastModeFitness11 we aren't that far north lol. Sunrise comes about 730am and sun set close to 330pm in the peak of winter
Thank you very much! We can't wait to visit Spokane again!
That table where you’re sitting at the Flying Goat is where I met my wife for the first time. We’ve been married ten years now.
That is amazing!!
As someone who lives here, I can tell you I see so much beauty here. This is qnd always will be home for me.
We loved visiting your home!

@@BeastModeFitness11 oh it’s sunny all the time. Today was bright and beautiful.
@@leahlewis6487 really? Someone else said they had around 5 sunny days so far this winter
Such great recommendations, thanks!
I live here in Spokane too and love Indaba (peppermint tea) and Atticus!
It’s nice to see somebody who doesn’t live here still enjoy Spokane as much as we do because I feel like not a lot of people making videos of their visit in things like that I think we get over shadowed by Seattle sometimes I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to the wonderful Spokane
We had so much fun in Spokane!

My Dad and Step Mom moved to Spokane in 2012 and every time I come there’s always something I find that I love. I live in Seattle now but I definitely want to relocate once I’m ready to settle down
Spokane was so fun to visit, I'm sure it's a fun place to live!
Don’t settle down with someone from Spokane. You’ll regret it.
I've lived in Spokane Washington my whole life and love Spokane in the fall🍁🎃💛 I live right by the milk bottle.
Living next to the beautiful could be dangerous 😂😂 we would be there all the time.
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
@@BeastModeFitness11 yes some days we have sun when the snow is on the ground. Lately we've had rain on top of snow, that's been messy lol.
This makes me homesick... Haven't lived there in years and I know most of Spokane like the back of my hand but it just keeps growing and changing and it doesn't feel like "mine" when I visit anymore 😭
It's crazy how quickly a city can change especially if you haven't visited in a bit!
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
There are actually two milk bottles, one by the freeway downtown, and this location in Garland neighborhood. Only the one in Garland is a restaurant. So yummy 😋
I live here how cool to see an outsider perspective of my home ❤️
That's awesome, hope we did it justice!

Next time you go to Flying Goat you should know that they will do half and half pizzas, even with their crazy ingredients and sauces.
Great recommendations, thank you!
As a Spokane resident, next time you are here I’d love to show you around :)
Hey there, that would be so fun!

Does the sun ever come out during winter months ???
I was born here in Spokane but mainly grew up in southern California. We moved back in 1970, and I have loved living in Spokane ever since. There are so many unique places all over the city, and we even thank our bus drivers when we get off. Most of the people here in Spokane are friendly and happy to help a lost visitor. Be sure to check out The Davenport Hotel, which was restored in 2002. It is historic and absolutely gorgeous.
We loved it there and agree most people were very friendly! We will definitely want to visit again!
The Davenport is beautiful; My husband is an Ironworker and helped build it actually. So, it is always great to see it when we drive by it on occasion

After watching this, I feel like if Chattanooga was in Washington, it would be Spokane! Fun video, thanks.
I thought the same thing.
Mid to late summer you both should check out Priest Lake. Not too far from Spokane and it is pristine.
Can anyone tell me the truth about the crime and drug use? Is it really as bad as the stats suggest, that you're very likely of getting something stolen from you or that you may find a drug needle on the floor? Please help, thinking about moving there.
Depends on where you move, but imo Hillyard and downtown are some of the rougher parts of town.
Milk bottle in famous movie. Do you know which one? I live here. You did great.
Benny and joon was filmed had scenes filmed at fergusons not the milk bottle :)
Benny and Joon!
I lived in Spokane for 5 years and man! There’s so many things I love about this video
I worked at the convention center which is that big building across from riverfront park and I was semi gagging when it was in frame
I’ve never been to the flying goat! There are so many hole in the wall places that I’ve never even tried that one
The milk bottle is key
Do you ever see the sun in winter or always doom and gloom?
Great recommendation!
