Great points and not missing much. We moved from Edmonds in 2020. Right: 1. Dining is more varied than it initially seems, just a little short on Thai and Vietnamese high quality options 2. Traffic is so much better! I’m reminded every time I go visit mom!! 3. Airport wait times are lovely! 4. Neighbors actually chat, it’s great! Missed: 1. HoopFest dude! The best citywide family event I have ever seen!! 2. Riverfront Park, just could be a whole video about all the fun and the Areba has great shows! 3. Big city medical available 4. City investment in all the parks Cons worth noting: 1. Being on the East end of the time zone means dark BEFORE 4:00 in the winter (pro if you are a morning person as the sun comes up sooner than Seattle’s). Kind of shocking how much we’ve noticed that! 2. Fall and Spring are great but feel like 2 months or less each while Summer and Winter feel like 4+ each. 3. The winter is warmer, greyer and wetter than expected. Less snow and bright days than we’d hoped for. 4. Uninsured motorists is kind of a plague. (Pro, old cars you haven’t seen in 20 years still limp along the road here!) 5. Car prowling, not violent, kind of epidemic here 6. No Whole Foods 7. No IKEA
Great comment! Some of our other videos cover some of these points for sure but I will be sure to mention some of these perspectives that I have not thought of in upcoming videos as well! :)
Spokane is fine. Much nicer than western WA. Unfortunately, Spokane's new mayor can't wait to increase property taxes and turn Spokane into another Seattle or Portland.
You are very kind! We strive to serve our local and incoming community members. If you decide anywhere in the Greater Spokane/North Idaho region is you're new home, we would love to help with your relocation. :)
The transit system and infrastructure is actually quite good, atleast compared to the city where i live now. the downtown station here is just another park and ride with 2 single-use bathrooms for the hundreds of ppl who move through it, and the busses are almost always late. I was actually more impressed with spokane's bus system after i left then when i lived there. But the ppl you encounter and the chronic loiterers downtown make it far less appealing then a car or uber. But its a fairly efficient way to get from point A to point B in a reasonable amount of time.
Looking to make friends in Spokane as I escape NY by myself with no family left. I don't want a huge shock like moving SOUTH, so from my research so far, it's looking like Spokane is a GREAT option for this Great Lake lady!

Anything to get me out of god damn San Antonio Texas. 😭 Tired of living in this oven of an area with no good sceneries. Prices are skyrocketing as well so it’s useless to stay here!!
I've been thinking about moving to spokane, a good ex navy buddy of mine and his family lives there, I think I could like spokane. I do wonder how the night scene and the dance scene (actually dancing like salsa, waltz, irish ect.) are there.
That's great to hear you're considering a move to Spokane. Having your ex-Navy buddy and his family here would definitely make the transition smoother. Regarding the night scene and dance culture, Spokane has a vibrant nightlife with a variety of options to suit different tastes. For dancing, you'll find several venues that host salsa nights, swing dancing, and even Irish dance sessions: -Studio 5 Dance Center offers regular salsa and ballroom dance classes and events. -Knitting Factory features live music and dance events to keep the night lively. -The Bing Crosby Theater occasionally hosts dance performances, including traditional Irish dance shows. There are also plenty of local spots where you can enjoy live music and dancing, from modern clubs to more intimate settings. I’m sure you'll find Spokane a welcoming place with plenty of opportunities to enjoy your favorite activities. If you have any other questions or need more info, feel free to ask! Best, Adam
No mention of Gonzaga University, and the cultural opportunities it may offer the community? That was a miss. Also, how many Trader Joe's are there? I want to move to a one-bedroom apartment, when I retire, within walking distance of a TJ's. Priorities, ya know?
Thanks for the info me my wife and our kids are possibly moving here! We’re 39 hours away!! lol going to be a culture shock for sure we live in a town called pocomoke city Md roughly 2300 people. Nothing but marsh and farm land and water I’m looking forward to this scared is a understatement
I went to EWU and have always wanted to come back. It's been ten years but I wonder what's the job market look like now. Back then there weren't a lot of large employers
We are having a boom in our employment in various job sectors right now. In this video we go over some of that info for you: ruclips.net/video/dWqXTziX9HM/видео.html Amazon came in and is now one of our biggest employers. But a lot will depend on what sector you typically work in. Education, medicine, and tech are our biggest growth sectors by far. But we are seeing general growth everywhere. :)
@@SpokaneWashingtonLivingI wouldn’t expect Spokane to be a sanctuary city;or a welcoming city for the illegal migrants that have been spilling into our country like NYC; and Chicago and Denver.
Honestly just wish they would stop sending homeless here. 5 years ago I swear we had like 10 or 20 bums now it’s like 300 to 500. You literally can find them in all parts of town
I've seen this all across the county to be honest. The only places that don't seem to have them are cities that ship them to other cities. Definitely not a long term solution.
Pretty sure that it is La Nina. Good video, also looking at Northern Idaho. What about crime and homelessness? Niche and other sites indicate that it is a concern.
I believe you’re correct. It’s been a long time since high school Spanish. 😅 What exactly are you looking to know about crimes in which area exactly? What would you say is of concern exactly? 😊
Theft, auto theft, burglary, rape, and assault are considerably higher or double the National average. For the city of Spokane.@@SpokaneWashingtonLiving
@SpokaneWashingtonLiving I've heard the same. My husband and I want to move to WA, and we're looking at Spokane, but the crime and homelessness is what we are on the fence about.

Many good points but it was better before meth hit and when it was still affordable. Young professionals should have hobbies or a family as "nightlife" is not like a large place. The place runs at a slower pace overall. Lots of theft. Visually a lot of nice things about it. I took up photography because of that.
Lol this my city too. It's like every city. Drugs and shitty places in the center. With all that surrounded by richer people on the outskirts. From south hill to spokane valley up north with the "Y" and then meth capital mead. And hilliard up north.
Having worked in many real estate markets over the entire state of Washington and north Idaho I would have to disagree. You get a lot for your money here in the Spokane area when compared to MANY other places in the PNW. :)
