      Same story as me. Tired of the hot summers, awful winters, and really considering selling my house and moving to Washington State. I just need to do a ton of research because I have no idea what it's like - even from videos. Are there tornado risks? Earthquakes? My house is 300k and I'm looking on Zillow and some of these houses SMALLER than mine are 500k? 600k 700k lol....

    I liked the video. I actually live in Missouri myself (St. Louis area) and lived in AK for 5 year before moving back. I am actually thinking about moving back to the PNW or at least owning some property there in the future. I miss the fishing, hunting and outdoors, but definitely don't miss the winters.

    It's easy to make casual acquaintances, and also pretty easy to get along on a business-like level with your neighbors, parents of your kids' friends, etc. People are very polite.
    But wow. Making actually friends here is nearly impossible. I mean really connected people who have your back. I've never met more people who are suddenly busy every single day of their lives.

      wenatchee is a slabe labor town ,Everybody worried about the endless bills , inflation and limited housing options. Corrupt politicians allow endless flow of illegals which only make things worse. Fake Smiles , Fake Happiness , Fake Everything.

      @@livingintacomawashington I’m moving in late August/September to either Olympia or somewhere that’s an hour or less from Olympia, because that’s the most I’m willing to commute to a potential job, and also that allows me to compare rent between the 18 cities/towns I’m looking at. In the meantime, I’ll be in Port Townsend with family, while I get my ducks in a row. I’m seeking a job in either local/state government or with a nonprofit, because my majors in college were Political Science and History, so I feel government or nonprofit work would suit me best.

    Washington State has the most regressive taxes in the nation. You will pay higher prices for alcohol, drivers license,license tabs/registration for vehicles, andvthe list goes on. Small businesses struggle to stay alive. Taxes and fees are outrageous.

      only regressive if you buy stuff. For the frugal person, WA is way better.

    Hey I just came across your channel on RUclips. I live in Missouri as well, I live in Columbia Missouri. I’ve always been a nature dude. I’ve always wanted to go to Washington and Oregon. But can’t decide. What’s the difference between them two? Also what made you move to WA?

    • @livingintacomawashington
      @livingintacomawashington  2 года назад +1

      The two states are similar in a lot of ways. Maybe thats a video I need to do. Oregon vs Washington 😉
      Missouri was so boring man, out here it’s so pretty, tons of water, mountains and the best of nature. Not to mention access to cities with a ton of stuff to do.
      We moved because of incomes. The average income here is 2.5 times higher than MO. We also love nature, hiking, but we also love city life. After searching the country and visiting places from coast to coast this was THE SPOT

    What do you think about moving to Washington? Does it seem worth it!?

    • @livingintacomawashington
      @livingintacomawashington  2 года назад +1

      For some perspective we aren’t originally from WA we moved from MO, with kids. I think this brings some solid insight

    Austin: Another issue that could go both ways is political and ideological affiliation. I think you dropped a hint about this when you mentioned "Tree Huggers" being reported by Fox News and "even" CNN. Why say "even" CNN..? Are you showing your Leftist colors? The PNW is known to be Blue (Democrat) mainly concentrated in the larger population centers. Correct? While most of the rural areas in the PNW are Red (Conservative GOP), so that could play an important role in deciding where a person or family relocates to.

    • @livingintacomawashington
      @livingintacomawashington  21 день назад

      No, I’m quite conservative. It’s just an observation. I said even cnn because they tend to side with the more left.
