I also was looking into this company. My hesitation is the cooking outside. I would have liked it as an option, not as an only choice. Thanks for the good info as always.
I love this idea, it's a nice fresh experience, van life is not the full time thing for me but I like it and have done it as a few weeks to a month thing, so I think I would enjoy this. It's takes the chore parts of van life out of it and gives people like me a flexible option, also no more renting separate transportation or stressing about bathrooms on the long roads :P
Pretty cool concept for a hotel on wheels. On another note, I've been following you and other van lifers and overlanders for a while now. I am very interested in tiny homes, van life, overlandind, and campers.i think they are all awesome. With that being said I've watched a lot of your videos, which are great by the way. I never would of known that you are a comedian until this video and the one with Scott, the owner of Cabana Van's. That's even more awesome to know. I am a comic out of LA. I really enjoy your content.
Oh my goodness, Leo is stunning! What kind of dog is he? I know, I know, we are van lovers and this is a rad video, but Leo!!! By the way, I love that your Cabana van came with a slide out kitchen.
Looks nice. I’m sure it would be pretty easy to add a fold up extension to the sink for bench space and a portable single burner/induction cooker to allow inside cooking.
This is such a great idea, Cabana! I immediately thought - could I rent one in Toronto to drive down and help out my aging parents when I fly home? I'll check and see if you are in Canada yet.
Great van for fair weather climate. Not Seattle area. Can’t cook in the kitchen without your bed facing the elements? That’s nuts! It’s just a fair weather camper van. Hotels don’t make you go outside to use the kitchen or bathroom or shower. Better get it right if you want to compare it to a hotel.
But the bathroom and shower is inside. I see what you're saying with the kitchen but if staying in the city in a hotel, most don't do cooking. Maybe that's just me idk
@@JarrodTocci you are welcome! My friend, Denise and I will contact you about consulting on a van build in the next year or so. Mixed views on this concept....as you say it is good as a hotel room alternative but probably not as a van life option. And the outside kitchen gets a no from me as well, what happens when it rains or is too cold? Interesting concept though, Jerry
@@007nadineL Short term hotel no, but short term apartment, yes. Also if I were staying in an expensive town or area, a kitchen would be more important. Jerry
Thanks for the video with cabana vans! I’m in the area and will totally be checking them out! Also interested in any other company’s in the area that do this, would like to try a few for some short trips!
This is such an awesome idea, I just watched your tour of this and chat with the owner, and I think he needs to bring this to Australia! I might just have to DM him! I also think some kind of rear awning would cover the bases for outdoor cooking in bad weather.
A slide out roof over the back doors so you can still cook when its raining n possibly net at side n back doors would be good to keep bugs out. As a hotelier, they could enhance their vans, by adapting the blackout PDLC electric switchable dimming glass film. Simply on/off to convert the windows to blackouts - and its a cheap technology now. Recirculating shower be a bonus for a hotel van, probably going black tank way might require a small cam below for ease of user to know when they are over the correct spot n 1 switch in door to release it
THANK YOU! I live across the sound from Seattle and was just wondering if I could rent a van in the area that doesn’t have rental written all over it!! I only wish you would have spoke about cabanas rates. Love your videos btw!!
It would be nice if they would have a screen for the bugs. Also not a good idea to be cooking in a turnout accidents can happen on a busy road from distracted drivers.
