Great analysis, I like the comparisons with Germanic vs Slavic classical. Branikald was and is one of my biggest inspirations musically and spiritually as well. Keep up the good work!
Njard, for anyone who is interested is the guy who did the album covers with the soldiers on them (Triumf Voli, Volkoten/Nitberg split, etc.). He also did the artwork for some Absurd albums with similar art style.
Isengard and Storm are two other projects worth mentioning that seemed to have a big influence on BBH and Temnozor too for that matter. The BBH guys were into Isengard and I think that shows with their usage of clean vocals in their bands. I’m going off of memory but i can picture them mentioning those two bands when naming influences of theirs in interviews and other places like their Myspace pages.
Good content! Actually i have to mention that the reference regarding long meditation melodies/themes in my opinion Burzum was already doing this kind of stuff before BBH began with it. I would even say that the BBH sound is a mixture of Darkthrone and Burzum in a very medidative cosmic way.
Branikald is not comparable to burzum and darkthrone at all, why does everyone act like mixing darkthrone and burzum’s sounds make up every single black metal project ever?
I love your videos man, I've been re-listening to a lot of them on my work commute. Do you like Circle Of Ouroborus? I would love to see a dissection of their body of work, it's quite varied. Cheers
Fucked UP right now watching this video in my feels and branikald uhh which album was it the blue one misanthropy or something idk I'm not Russian. Very good video Mr rfi man I like it
Really good video. I'd like to see if you've heard of the Ukrainian black metal project called Лютомысл where one can see the Blazebirth Hall influence especially in the melodic layering of the guitars and the vocals.
That'd be Necrom, got members of Duk Buk, Drudkh, and Nokturnal Mortum playing Scandinavian style early '90s death metal. Unfortunately they've still only got that one demo out, called "The Light Has Never Been Here." It's up on their bandcamp if you search for it
Yeah, she's a singer I like. I was trying to do a goof and make it look like all the pictures of Kaldrad and Ulv Gegner where they have like a stark black and white photo with their name under it in a mix of runes and roman letters
Shucks, I remember having to cajole people into even liking Branikald back on the old Dark Legions Archive forum when I was in high school. Don't get me started on their ice cold takes on Peste Noire
BBH - лучшие артисты на русской сцене до сих пор. Никто не смог превзойти их, и не сможет.
That dank burzum beat is my favourite description of anything ever. Brilliant work, subscribing!
Nice retrospective on Kaldrad's Branikald. RIP

Branikald was amazing! Unique, deep, atmospheric and beautiful at times.
Kaldrad did not paint his album covers. It was Sigrun (wife of I.Z.V.E.R.G of Dub Buk), and Njard.

Thank you for featuring Branikald and BBH in your podcast

Nice, glad someone is talking about this circle. I'm just tuning in hoping rundagor might be mentioned too
Unfortunately I don't know Rundagor inside and out like I do with Branikald, Raven Dark, and Forest, but I think I mentioned them in passing.
Nitberg is worth getting more in depth with too

The only comparable piece to burzum or darkthrone is stormheit
@@HorticultureReal01593 and you are??
The Burzum and Darkthrone influences are undeniable. Think back to when this stuff was released. There wasn’t a lot that sounded like it at the time.
BlazeBirth Hall
I am late to discovering this channel but great content man
Based fellow WLP enjoyer
Nitberg is damned great as well. Same for Raven Dark.
Yeah I especially like that posthumous Nitberg album with Stringsskald playing all the instruments
@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 Nagelreid. Super song writing. That song carries immense emotion, diversity, and riffs everywhere.
I like the dr William pierce sample
they've been known to sneak in every now and then
Nice
mans adding rockwell samples
The one in the beginning? Not quite. It's WLP ;)

Another great Video
glad you liked it, I don't see people talking about blazebirth hall stuff enough
A true legend
Fucked UP right now watching this video in my feels and branikald uhh which album was it the blue one misanthropy or something idk I'm not Russian. Very good video Mr rfi man I like it
There's a couple blue ones, but you're thinking of Mead of Misanthropy. My favorite's one of the other blue ones, Blikk av Kald.

sorry, just saw this now... I love Lutomsyl, all his stuff is great. He was awesome in Lucifugum too
Hey Slad_ !
@@vranakrik88 Hey. Funny seeing you here.
How did you find the full triumph des willens album
I had to rip samples from my own CD. I bought it off of the Temnozor guy like ten years ago when he had a discogs store.
What band did he mention at the beginning, the Ukraine supergroup?

Also branikald is still active last album was 2020 with a new ep coming out 2023
No it's just reissue of another late 90s album which were self-released on cassettes only back then
@@jimikendrikexperience wrong

Deathmetal.org makes fun of blazebirth hall save for branikald

who is the woman to the left?
Do you know where I can get CDs for Branikald or Forest? Looking for the stellar winter pressings. Been looking everywhere but can’t find anything.
Are you familiar with Nezhegol?
