Studies show that deep water running burns 11.5-kcals/min, or more, depending on intensity levels, or approximately 700 kcals/hr. Land running burns 8kcals/min, or more, depending on intensity levels, or approximately 480/kcals per hour
Does running in place in water burn calories?
Running in deep water burns 30-40% more calories than running on land because water is 800 times denser than air. The energy required to move a body through water is greater than what's required for moving on land creating higher calorie burn with additional strength benefits.

I loved them all but the fun one i call the “crab run” wide leg run side ways it was a blast and my aqua group loved it..we laughed and laughed after class about it. Your video’s are da bomb.. can’t wait for more hour long one’s ..❤️
Go ahead lol !! thats what i have always called your open wide leg fast and slow jog and the one where we push and pull as we are moving side ways with legs opened up!! We also have a song we sing with the excerise where palms are pushed like killing a bug i will video and send to you.. you will laugh at it 😂😂

if you hit the bottom of pool with your feet isn't that the same as running on land, with the same impact?
Absolutely no! You are much much lighter in the water so the impact is super minimum. Besides water run is way more challenging for different muscle groups than land running which is great.
