- This is a driving and walking tour of Wiesbaden Germany right outside of Lindsey Air Station sometime in 1990. Our tour guide is SSgt Bret Johnson who was assigned to the 1st Combat Comm at Lindsey AS, driving is SSgt Ray Sykora who was assigned to the 2141st Comm Sq. at Wueschheim Air Station and the cameraman is myself, SSgt Joe Gaffney who was assigned to the 2184th Comm Sq at Hahn Air Base.
Thanks for sharing your video. I was station at Wiesbaden Air Base from '86 - '91 and drove many times the same streets.
The Lindsey Air Station Leopard Lasers - still going to today!

brings back so many memories I was stationed at Lindsey ASN 1984 to 1986
Man thank you very much. Really nice. ❤
My baby son was born while we were stationed at LAS. What a fantastic tour.
Went to the NCO academy there in 1987. Loved that place!
Danke für das Video!!! :-)
Einfach 33 Jahre altes Video für mich krass zu sehen wie es früher aus sah weil ich in Wiesbaden wohne 😳
How cool! A friend of mine lives in the house right at that corner Schiersteiner Straße/Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring!
A very loud corner. 😅
I was feeling nostalgic and I came this posting. We were stationed in Wiesbaden from 88-92 when I was in elementary school, and looking back, it was the happiest time if my life. Despite being stuck in the Amelia for what felt like ten years, and only having AFN and whatever videos friends sent us from the states, it made for a wonderful childhood, and most definitely shaped who I am today.
My family was stationed there from 88-91 or so, while I was in middle school. I have lots of memories of our time in the Amelia.
@@franksteele3296 You went to WAMS? I went to Hainerberg while we were in the Amelia, then to Aukamm the rest of the time. We were there at the same time, so I know you remember Mr. Lenz and that hellhound dachshund East that used to chase us to make us run faster. Ah, the memories. 😁😁
Oh the memories... Had a nice butterfly knife destroyed or they tried to destroy it. Forgot I had it walking thru the gate, was told I could be fined or have it destroyed. You can guess what I chose. They stuck it between a file cabinet draw and tried to break it. It ended up braking the file cabinet.
Danke Für Video
I know Bret Johnson, he was in my crew in 1st comm. I was there from 88-90. TWAC, with TSgt Fred Marvin, Bret and myself. What a small world to come across this video.
Brian, my son is currently assigned to the 1st Combat Comm at Ramstein. Small world indeed.
Thanks Brian, you forgot me? I also have a video of Joe Montano, and Bret and myself driving to Luxembourg in 1990. Have a video of Jack Richards and myself driving to the Commissary in Frankfurt, but that one would need a lot of editing. Don't think I got a video of my favorite bar. I taught Bret that you should just walk around wherever you are and crash a bar until you find one you like.
The Bat Cave!! 92-95.

I was at LAS from '89 - '92. Great memories.

Die geilste Zeit
Vor allem die Autos.😊
Looks like spring or fall. Went there several times on a "mission."
Wow. Memories!
Hi guys! Anyone to remember Joe Rogers? He gave art-lessons to the army-members, I think in Erbenheim it was. I lived with him and 12 others in that long gone house you find on my channel, vid #7. Joe also passed away many years ago but I keep a compass for drawing circles he once presented to me, an american style compass which nobody else in Germany has ;-) Thank you Joe for the vid!
I lived near Lindsey Air Station from 1966 to 1967 as an Air Force brat. I could walk from our house on Nasserstrause ( sp) and be at Lindsey in about 20 to 25 minutes. I was always going there just for something to do. Great memories.
gloomy days with no sun. lol

Hey. Nice Video. I drive a part of this way every Day. :-) The schiersteiner street has a few New houses today. The other places like 1. Ring looks like 1990. Ok... we have other cars today ;-) The Post Center AT 2:50 in the Background has gone... there is a shopping mall next to the Central Station now. Greetings from wiesbaden ;-)
Graf Zahl. I lived near Lindsey Air Station from 66-67 (15 yoa) on Nasarstrasse(sp) as an Air Force brat. It was some of the greatest times of my life. I use to walk many times from the house to Lindsey AS just for something to do - it was always fun. None of us had cars as teenagers - got in pretty good shape - walking everywhere. Then I was assigned to Spangdahlem AB with my own family from 1988 to 1992. It was really great to see the same places with my own family.
Good remembers come with this Vid. I was as a german often tourgide for american friends. But in older times from 74 to 85. A wild time, but good time.
We were station here in 1994 to 1991
You are the first couple i know getting younger ;-))
I ate at Il Pescatore so many times!!
I was in 1st Comm from 77-79
78-81 497th RTG
Did you know Mike Duffy?
Unfortunately, the music is a distraction.
Apologies. That was the music playing in the car. It ends a few minutes into the video.
I visited with my dad he was stationed there from late 63-68 we lived at aukum guess that's how it's spelled
officers housing right?
Aukamm, high Rick!
Yes great memories. We lived in Hainerberg, next to Crestview next to Aukum.. Used to go bars. Copa Cabana, Big Bens, Pam Pams, The Roll on and I think it was called the palm tree in Mainz Germany memories. My mom used to go to the Dorian Gray in Frankfort. My dad managed to Amelia Earhart Hotel my mom worked and Lindsay Air Force Station memories memories. I also worked at the gym on Wiesbaden army base. Memories
@@donnisscott4944 holy cow the Copa??? Remember the top hat drink? I graduated HS there in 87, my dad was at 6910 on LAS.
@@USNMMCret Lindsey Air Force Station! Oh my gracious! There are no freaking coincidences! My mother was an exercise instructor on 104 station! And she also worked at the mess Hall Wiesbaden! I'm so freaking excited, I don't even know what I wrote! No, I don't remember the drink the top hat! I don't remember any other drinks! Did I mention Big Ben's, Pam Pam's, and the roll-on? So, I must have mentioned the Copacabana! Copacabana was kind of like this, I don't like his little freaking Secret! Like a part of the outside in Waltz Platz! Like inside, outside, like open-air, you can go in this way and come out this way, like cast iron tables and seats, I believe! I left and 86! I was a freshman! Did you realize that Priscilla Presley went to the same school we did h.h. Arnold? So, most of the time I was there I was in Middle School, so, only one year High School, and not the full year! But, most of my friends were older than me! Do you still remember your friends? I saw in the comments ago I mention aukKamm
Ah, yes - 1958 to 1961. Pizza joint (The Hut) just across the street from the main gate. Not bad duty.
I was in European GEEIA, APO 332, in the early sixties. Took the shuttle bus from
the airbase to Lindsey many times. We had ration cards for booze, coffee and
thinks like that. Smokes were a buck 20 a carton.
1977-1980, Lindsey Air Station, USAF CBPO. Did several tours in Germany, but Wiesbaden was my all time favorite. I got in a couple of visits back there after my retirement in 1992. Planning another one hopefully in 2018. WIESBADEN UBER ALLES!!
My German father-in-law hung out at Lindsey Air Station with the German-American Kontakt Club. He did a lot of volunteer work there in his spare time giving orientation classes, conducting tours, and having fun with his American friends. He knew a lot of the command leadership. I met his daughter in 1976 and we married in 1979. I also retired from the Army in 1992 after 20.
Can you please write what month the recordings are from? Do you have any more shots of Wiesbaden? thanks
Schau mal dieBuse an das ist nich 1990
Welches Jahr ist es dann nach deiner Meinung?
