I've been looking for this for years. I was actually in the audience that day. It was filmed on a Wednesday afternoon at the Camden Palace, for a programme called 'Live from London'. I bunked off of school to go!
Bought their second album in 1985 or 1986 thanks to seeing their name on some NME indie chart. At the time I lived in Yugoslavia and I had never known anyone who knew them until I moved to Berlin and discovered they have tons of fans here. Got their other records over the years, but still love that second album the most. Thinned the needle of my turntable on it.
every time i hear this song the switch up at 00:20 always hits me like a train. its like years on anger and angst are released in that one second. incredible... o.0
IN SHREDS pieseň skupiny THE CHAMELEONS z Middletonu, ktorá bola vydaná na debutovom singli v roku 1983 po uzatvorení zmluvy so spoločnosťou Epic. Záznam z koncertu v Camden Palace v Londýne v roku 1985. Mark Burgess spev a basová gitara, ktorý v máji 2015 dovršil 55 rokov.
When I first saw this on VHS back in 85 I just fell in love with this band. A mate did me two crappy tapes not long after. I also really fancied the two goth girls at the front, lovely if a tad moody looking. Fantastic band and Mark is still going strong, saw them in Sheffield not long ago. RIP John.
Lyrics: I grasp at lifes fading light I need you tonight I need to be heard Your acts speak lowder than words Ignored by you all I stumble and fall I suddenly knew My life meant nothing at all In shreds I stare down at the street Yearning for sleep That blissful escape But when it comes it's always too late The whore in my bed The noise in my head A hole in my pride It's coming and there's nowhere to hide It seems to me To be so contradictory It seems to me You count your blessings while they're there Ignored by you all I stumble and fall I suddenly knew My life meant nothing at all The whore in my bed The noise in my head A hole in my pride It's coming and there's nowhere to hide It seems to me To be so contradictory It seems to me You count your blessings while they're there You count your blessings while they're there You count your blessings while they're there It seems to me To be so contradictory It seems to me You've become a part of the machinery You've become a part of the machinery Machinery Machinery

Ignored by you all, I stumble and fall. I suddenly new, that my life meant nothing at all... Absolutely brilliant! Cheers...
Crazy song! The mood is reminiscent of the song Killing Joke-Psyche, in my opinion
I saw them more times than I can remember, including about 2 days before this was recorded at Manchester Uni. Good times :)
Guitarras atmosféricas e um som melancólico,só podia ser uma obra dos anos 80!saudades dessa época!

Lyrics:
I grasp at lifes fading light
I need you tonight
I need to be heard
Your acts speak lowder than words
Ignored by you all
I stumble and fall
I suddenly knew
My life meant nothing at all
In shreds
I stare down at the street
Yearning for sleep
That blissful escape
But when it comes it's always too late
The whore in my bed
The noise in my head
A hole in my pride
It's coming and there's nowhere to hide
It seems to me
To be so contradictory
It seems to me
You count your blessings while they're there
Ignored by you all
I stumble and fall
I suddenly knew
My life meant nothing at all
The whore in my bed
The noise in my head
A hole in my pride
It's coming and there's nowhere to hide
It seems to me
To be so contradictory
It seems to me
You count your blessings while they're there
You count your blessings while they're there
You count your blessings while they're there
It seems to me
To be so contradictory
It seems to me
You've become a part of the machinery
You've become a part of the machinery
Machinery
Machinery
YOU JAMMY SO & SO
