Best band ever to emerge from the eighties (although The Sound would come a close second), and arguably their finest song too. Still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it even after all these years. Magic memories and it will get played at my funeral so it will :)
This is an amazing track by an amazing band. The fact that my ‘like’ hasn’t even made the count reach 1000 likes is a sad commentary on the state of affairs of that pathetic medium called radio and the music industry in general. “ I realize a miracle is due. Like when you fail to make the connection, you know how VITAL it is. Oh when something slips through your fingers, you know how PRECIOUS it is!”
The music of this band is such a huge part of my life. Considering that I did not grow up in England where they enjoyed most of the popularity it is saying something. I hear this song in particular and I am literally transported back in time.
I saw the Chameleons several times but their 666 gig was outstanding..... The cavern was a writhing mass of bodies, music and sweat! A true orgy of music.......cerebral, physical and spiritual pleasure! Thank you guys for such wonderful memories.
This whole album is a masterpiece. "Script of The Bridge," a stunning work that will move, rock and make you think all at once. I saw them in San Francisco and live they did not disappoint. The album goes great w/mushrooms or any other psychedelic and a loud stereo to take you out there. Brilliant song. Thanx!
My poor college roommates back in '83 and '84 probably heard me play this song about 10,000 times. I like to think they are much better off from the experience. I know I am. Thanks for the post and the great slideshow!
Music doesn't get much better than this. Script is one of the best albums ever released and for me Chameleons are still the standard against which other bands are measured and often sadly found lacking. This sounds as awesome now as the day it was released. Phenomenal.
I have listened to the first album, this album and this song every day since I bought them a few months ago. F##$k!!! These guys get it. They understand what's going on and they aren't willing to play by the rules of mainstream. I just wish it didn't take me 25 years to discover them. Hopefully they make their way to L.A. if they ever get back together.
Hell, nothing tops this after 40 years of music listening .....I first heard it live by Mark Burgess and The Sons of God at The Duchess of York in Leeds.......it was a sensational moment......
The Chameleons are Gods. "Script of the Bridge" is a sanctuary, songs are masses and "Second Skin" the Holy Grail. Here on earth They put me in heaven. Never saw Them...
il était ma seconde peau, mais ne m'a pas crue, le sang qui coule dans mes veines a dû changer, à présent...tout doucement c'est le sang d'un autre qui se melle au mien....
@RotoPlasmX Early U2 (up to 1984) were a great band and brilliant live so that's a complimentary comparison. From Joshua Tree onwards U2 had their moments but had sold out big time and lost the spark that made their early records and live performances great. Plus Bono's preaching became mega annoying to say the least.
John Hulse I love you so much My BOY RIP Thank YOU
One of the most underrated bands ever.
One of the Best Bands of the UK!!
