Im still burning slow in 2024.....Love 80s forever in my heart ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Such an amazing and mesmerizing song. I still just close my eyes and drift off into a Bliss. I'm 54 and still get the chills when I play this . The BEST EVER
same here. I
Same.......absolutely love this tune....get goosebumps everytime x ❤

Simple Minds is the soundtrack of my life. Once hearing it on the radio, and it stayed with me.
Me to,I suppose we are all old now.
Don't worry, you are not the only one who's listening this masterpiece in 2021
2022
...and again also in 2022 i listen to this wonderful song 💕
Since 38 years now i love to listen to the wonderful sound of Simple Minds, especially back in their earlier days 🥰
just so great

It’s 2022 and I can’t stop listening it!
So do I. The music made in 2023 you forget in 5 minutes. This SM brilliant tune will remain awesome for decades❤
@@hermanbruner2913 Definitely
I just shazam'd this last night. Didn't realise it was Simple Minds. Thank God for Shazam. What a song. It's only now I'm an oldie (51) that I'm appreciating more older music. The last few years I've got fed up with dance music, to a degree, but at least I'm learning.
2023
Summer 2024... and still in love with this song and its lyrics.
Burning gold memories of mine made to these words❤ ❤❤❤❤
Great band great songs. What's not too like.
It's 2023. Thank you Simple Minds for your music, concerts, everything 😊
What a extremely wonderful an relaxed (summer)song! The 80s were the best time in music-history! ❤
I totally agree!
Not the best bit One ' of the best for sure
I could listen to it again and again every single day and never get bored~
I love it since 40 years already 💕🙏🎸🥁🎵🤗
Yeah I’m the same just love simple minds and every time I listen I’m transported to my carefree youth days of the 80’s
My all time favorite from Simple Minds! The music is sublime! What a voice!
Yep, it's their best. Hairs standing on end.
Jim Kerrs voice is very special... he’s a Celt ... and you can hear it.
The drummer wasn't bad either
🤗
For sure!! My all time favourite song by them ❤
This song creates incredibly good feeling
I can feel the opposite. It's so sorrowful. The love for someone that has been existed there in summertime. Never happens again.
@@freddymaster4892the shame i feel
@@xristosprogkas5177 What on?
@@freddymaster4892 I feel like you with this song .old memories that passed
@@xristosprogkas5177 Heart cowering.
Man it was a different time. No flashy visuals, no video with a change of shot/camera angle every 2 seconds in case they lose your attention. Just a bunch of lads playing some pretty fucking awesome music on a stage in front of a fire pit with a golden cross in it. What more could you ask for?
i would ask to be a teen in those times if it's possible lmao
I'd ask.. to keep the original founder members. Mc Kay out from SM is like David Bryan out from Bon Jovi. Today a guy plays just samples with 2 controllers and a pc. The bassist and drummer left too.
pro/gramming
look at their dull eyes now.
Brian never a truer word spoke, 17 i was in 1982, what a time to be alive, i just looked at John Peels top 60 tracks, heavily loaded with 82, and he knew what he was on about
Excellent post..
Nobody makes music like this anymore. It’s absolutely heavenly.
❤
Todays music is shit, 50, 60, 70, 80. the best music ever.
Also, if you like such music, many bands make thar kind of music still today, search for "touching pop" or "heavenly voices" or "dream pop", you will find many examples 🤗🤗
have a nice day 👍
True
Your so absolutly right!!!
Mel Gaynor's drumming is still so superb and timeless. ♥️🥁🔥💎
Seems it was too hot for his ass, seeing how he escapes at the end...
"timeless drumming". Those are the words I ve been looking for to describe his style.
A genuine Simple Minds favourite ❤
A time when music was full of character, unique sounds and styles. I miss the 80s, I still listen to a myriad of different musical types all different all very special to me. Simple Minds was so enjoyable.
I miss this music also
You could not have put that better! Charts are rubbish now.
@@jcee 💯
I don't know which country you come from, but I lived in socialist Czechoslovakia at the time, where this type of music was taboo. I just couldn't hear it. Only a few people who got to the west were lucky enough to bring us cassettes with this music. Then my friends and I listened to it somewhere in the park and thought to ourselves, what incredible timeless music it is...
@@jcee second only to your mum
"Somewhere there is some place
that one million eyes can't see.
And somewhere there is someone
who can see what I can see"
These lines totally express how I felt when I was a teenager, all my hopes and aspirations.
I was sooo in love with Jim Kerr, his voice and the movements. This band made such great music, wish I could go back then, going to the concerts. Great memories ❤
This band was way better than the overrated U2, and I'm Irish.
I'm Irish and their both great
*is
My favourite song of theirs. Got to see them live in Melbourne Australia in 1984. Brilliant!!!!
I was there and got chucked out as I was considered too exhuberant and me being from glasgow I took the bouncers on to no avail but saw them Again
at Coogee in Sydney great times indeed all the best 🏴👍
@Jay Campbell They were playing with The Eurythmics which is who I went to see but my then boyfriend was a Simple Minds freak and I became one after their concert! I was 23 then so you probably need someone much younger. xx
@Jay Campbell You too, thanks for the exchange. Always interesting to talk to people who like the same music. xx
I missed that gig - STILL kicking myself.
@@blownflatheaddeuce They were doing that tour with The Eurythmics, which was who I wanted to see. My boyfriend at the time loved Simple Minds, and I left that concert a Simple Minds freak. You missed a great gig.
This songs makes me feel everything. I’m laughing and crying and losing my mind, this is the soundtrack of my mind.
I asked my mum to buy the album for my birthday present when I was 15. I'm an Australian male. I haven't stopped loving them since. Now I am capable of seeing through the "trends of the time" and really understand the timelessness and brilliance of SM.
one of my favourites...amazing...i want the 80s back xx
Me too
We all...
Stay
I'm burning slow
With me in the rain
Walking in the soft rain
Calling out my name
See me burning slow
Brilliant days
Wake up on brilliant days
Shadows of brilliant ways will change all the time
Memories
Burning gold memories
Gold of day memories change me in these times
Somewhere there is some place
That one million eyes can't see
And somewhere there is someone
Who can see what I can see
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Moments burn
Slow burning golden nights
Once more see city lights
Holding candles to the flame
Brilliant days
Wake up on brilliant days
Shadows of brilliant ways will change me all the time
Somewhere there is some place
That one million eyes can't see
And somewhere there is someone
Who can see what I can see
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Someone Somewhere In Summertime
Many thanks🍀
Thank you for posting the lyrics!
Thank you, although I know this song so well , I don't need them
I can listen to this one song over and over for hours ❤️
I never heard this song on American radio. Until tonight. I am in awe of how deeply this song has worked its way into the fiber of my being.
This brings back such memory. This was one of the first albums I bought, many of concerts to go from that time. I was so in love with Jim, his movements.. so sexy ❤
Incredible! His voice is sublime gives me goosebumps
I saw them play this live in 1981 in Tiffanys Ballroom in Glasgow. The Minds were just becoming big then. I knew back then they were going to become huge, but it’s amazing they’re still playing today and have got even better. Jim and Charlie you are a pair of Glasgow legends!!
I am happy (and a little jealous) to hear you saw them in concert. Simple Minds is one of the 80s bands I would have loved to have seen live. They always seem to put their heart and soul in their music and play for the love of their music.
@@stephanprimeau6150 Hi. I saw them many times in the 80s/90s but the one in 1981 was the first. Time has passed very quickly!
Absolutely 💯 love this band.
This sound is a superb fusion of rock and new wave synth.
Reminds me of a better time in the world and in our lives. Different era, you can feel it in the sound of 1982.
Different era, long gone sadly.
Makes me sad that the wonderful time that we had in the 80’s is gone and we’ll never have anything like that again. What a great time to be alive that was! ❤️
yeah I get that , it hurts. u want that Tardis to go back but we cant .
1982 was a year of recession and Thatcherism but with great music
@@MrHoefnix Same here in Ireland.
Absolute perfection.
One of the best bands of all time this album was one in A life time. Jim Kerr is and always will be the best. No other band as ever come close to the sound and the feeling of the 80,s.
...And INXS !!! ❤
New order maybe?
Uh, ya ever heard of The Cure
This one always gets me. Saw them a few years ago -one of the best performances. SO under rated. And they are way more than Don't You Forget About Me, that's for sure...
Hypnotic make what listen to on and on.. in loop, !! Tune!!!!!!💜🎵
Simply, one of the most beautiful music voices ever
Had this album in 1982, and knew it was something special, , ,
Probably my fave simple minds track. Hearing it is very evocative and brings back loads of memories
Saw these guys live in Melbourne Australia in 1984. Fricking brilliant!!
Mon titre préféré de SIMPLE MINDS... Magnifique ! Grandiose ! 💫✨
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Brilliant Minds...one of my favorites from their masterpiece NGD...Jim voice sounds amazing...Derek's deep bass makes it complete, thanks for the quality upload!❤❤
🎵🎶🎤🎸🎹🥁🔝
Couldn't agree more ...this album and Derek's bass lines have been an ever present in my life for 37 years ..never tire of it ...just magical ...
Totally agree 🎸🎸
I played this track to death!! And I only ever listened to it in the dark. It was my go to pleasure. And a way of establishing a sense of privacy. So thanks for that , Jim.
What an unreal song. Just so good!
Lol.
Who heard this today radio 2 JEREMY VINE..
Such a classic bringing back all the feelings of our youth back in the 80s.
I actually cant believe its over 40 yrs ago.
Love to all
Haha the smoking ban episode yeah 😅
Great music but wouldn't listen to vine. Id rather stick pins in my eyes
I hear you he is a gobby, bolchy git, with a tact bypass for a personality, somebody who really shouldn't be hosting a show dealing with sensitive topics 😢@@Charlieb6308
saw them last night in Edinburgh never changed fantastic music wish I could go back to the 80s
So mesmerized by this awesome song, replay!!!!!!😬👍💖
Beautiful and timeless this band ❤
Whoahh, Love it ! Loved this band ! I was a teen.... uffffhhh... the ones from my generation will undersand..... My fav song, this one !!! Jim!
Pure Class From Jim and the
boys.
80,s utter class.
This is the band I listened too everyday this song hits hard
If I had one shot at going into a time machine I'd go back to the 80's and never come back! One of the most brilliant songs ever written in a time that will never come back!
I love this song!. The production on this is pretty amazing!. This was the band's best track off the album.
My opinion: To highlight this song is absolutely inappropriate, new gold dream is one of the best albums of the 80s, and it has this status because it is full of great songs. Anyone who claims that Someonewhere is the best song has not taken enough time for the album. Sorry
Love this song too...but the song New Gold Dream is the pinnacle of this album.
This song is beautiful, but the whole album is superb!
off their best album
''Brilliant days,wake up brilliant days

There are very few perfect songs out there- this is one. Transcendent.
I’m 53 and I listen to this masterpiece everyday ❤
Your younger than you think..!!!🥳🥰🎶🙏

When music was good...
Verdade!
Yeah, lots of great early 80s tracks before Stock Aitken Waterman ruined it all!
Let’s all stop for a moment and gather here together to appreciate the existence of this song.
Brilliant days ... Brilliant song ... brings back memories from the 90s ... summertime of course ...
My favorite Simple Minds song ever!
Brilliant, saw them 3 times this year ,,really good ,got to meet Jim and Charlie
My favorite simple minds song.
I should appreciated them more at the time but I love them now .. Belfast child my favourite ❤❤❤❤ bring back the 80s I miss it 57 and still loving
An all time classic 😊
Brilliant album , cracking song . 70’s and 80’s such a brilliant period for truly original music and great bands. Sad that all the things that made these times memorable no longer exist , Top of the pops , the chart rundown on a Tuesday lunchtime , NME and Melody maker , my album collection . Streaming is nonsense it’s just not the same ,a real lack of obscure information relating to your album that you could read while listening and maybe having a little toke 😃
Friends, if someone asks you to define genius, please direct them to this video or indeed any of Simple Minds’ videos on RUclips.
The glittering prize album is a work of art and this song the absolute peak of it jaw dropping amazing i LOVE this song.
This whole album sent me into the spirit realm! My favorite song was Big Sleep but this one wasn't far behind.
This is my favourite album of all time, every track is simply sublime
❤️And somewhere there is someone, who can see what I can see
It was a great time, we were young, free, growing up, discovering life.
Beautiful song! But where are comments about “The world is mine”? )))
That bass sounds incredible 😎
That was beautiful...simple Minds my favourite band of all time...I have so many great memories this music has always been a big part of my life...80s was the best of all...👌👍
I'am so Thankful for this music and the fact that I got to be a young kid in Junior and High School during this time in life.
Happy but makes me cry inside x Cant get these days back again....
Amazing atmosphere that only SM can create... listening to their music in the early hours of the morning it's almost a trance of good memories and nostalgia...
One of my favorite 80's songs! so deep sound!
Greatest sound by the Greatest Scottish band ever
So this is where Guetta got that banger 'The World is Mine' from. Amazing piece!
This is mine favorite Simply Minds song.
Beautiful 80's song.
So cold sound.
Greetings from Belgium
Thank you for bring this video, I only knew the live version, still one of my fave songs, so many memories, 1982 OMG who knew...time flys 🥰
Came to it through a Jeremy Vine rabbit hole . he plays this lots . Always reminds me of walking the streets of Aldrington and Portslade in Brighton in the summer 🏝️ 🌞 of '88. for me i felt in peak performance then and wore a micro mini skirt with stilettoes👠👠 as it played, dreaming about beautiful crushes ❤
Excellent song
Uno dei tanti capolavori dei Simple Minds...!!!🕺🏻💯🫶🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That rumbling, rousing, hypnotic bassline locking the groove down with the drums does it for me every time. Cheers ✌️.
🎶Feel Good music, Positive vibes, that's my kind of 80s Great music, grateful to have grown up in that era, revisiting this MTV Simple Minds makes me Nostalgic 👍
Ho amato e amo ancora glu anni 80❤
Just Shazamed this off of "Walmart radio" of all places (lol) and I'm really glad to have found this. Thank you!! 👍
The band that's etched across my heart..
Love it!! Great to see them live in Groningen a few weeks back. 💪❤️
Just back from seeing Simple minds at Glasgow.. Jim has still got it!! Absolutley outstanding.. me and my dad love Simple Minds💃🏴🎶
All time no1 hit’.......touched me straight in my heart, after a break’up! 🙏🏼💔
