Stop spreading false information that the piggyback tune isn't traceable, of course it is! The logs are in the ECU and the dealer could easily pull them and see higher than stock boost levels and void a warranty right on that.

The mechanic then also said it registered when he dynod it because it moves at high speeds but the car isnt going anywhere
Piggyback tunes fool the dme into thinking that the motor is operating at normal fuel, boost, and timing curves...that's why my foreman has a drawer full of damaged pistons at his desk!😅😅
I agree with your statement. The Problem is just that my company needs unsuspucious Cars to protect the 2/3 Cars which are transporting expensive IT Equipment. Using a Porsche 911 GT3 would simple give it all away but even a modded M2/3 won’t catch that much attention.

Do tunes in cars generally lower mpg? Or does it stay about the same? Also an fyi, the manual in your m2 handles less torque compared to the zf 8 speed. People on forums say like the max you should go is around 550-600lbs of torque
It depends how you drive. If you are in boost all the time, then yes, fuel consumption will be more over stock tune. But if you stay out of boost and just cruise, then the mpg's will practically stay the same. Ethanol always yields lower mpg's over octane., hence why ethanol costs less per gallon.
OTS maps are considered very safe in terms of tuning because they’re more conservative so any car around the world can run them rather than the tune being built for an individual car
I have Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 on my 335i and love them. I don’t need the snow capability since I’m on the coast in Mobile,AL, but it rains almost every day in the summer here and they have excellent grip in the wet. Plus they have a slower wear than a full summer so they last longer. Once I stop dailying it I’ll probably try the sport 02’s. Just wanted something that would wear a little slower to save a little money.
It's incredible how much the 8hp gears help acceleration. Takes away some pleasure but boy. Would be great to compare to another m2 with same mods and map but the other box.
My stock 2010 C6 ZR1 ran 7.6 60-130, after just e85, tune, smaller pulley, and intake, it ran 5.6 seconds 60-130... About 3k in mods. ZR1 is ridiculous. M2 looks great though, I've owned 3 M cars and was looking at these, it's just really hard to follow up a ZR1 with any other car.
I also have a g87 with the 6 speed manual. My question is around the clutch slipping with the added power. Just not sure how much torque the stock clutch can reliably handle. Thanks
I would like to eventually see no lift shift on MHD+ for N54’s. You should be able to have that as an option if you have a strong enough rated clutch like a twindisk.
I think you are right about the piggy back tune being untraceable...our scopes (and the smog machine) detect software, not overboost conditions, i haven't seen our scopes pick up a piggyback yet...also, we have an m2 in the shop with the clutch delay valve removed. He says at times it feels like the diff is locking up during fast shifts, but our foreman contends that the trans may not be "clear" of one gear before sliding into the next! Anyone out there have luck with this mod? Bmw master tech from CA...

Beat it at what? Looking awesome? Sounding awesome? Quarter mile? Being fun to drive, having a manual transmission? Tesla M3P will beat M2 in a 0-60, beat it on price, and beat it on practicality. But this isn't a car for being cheap or practical, so that leaves the 0-60 as about the only metric the Tesla bests it on. Love Teslas but this is a different tool for a different job, despite both being fast small cars.
@@turbos7780 heim joints are designed to move and introduce weak points that center around the joint itself. With the factory brace especially the cs/csl it is one solid structure. The fact is all of the aftermarket companies don’t do any computer aided structural modeling with their designs, unlike bmw did. They are more or less, show pieces.
I mean the Evo 9 also weighs like 600lbs less and I'm sure it doesn't have such a delay between shifts. Also keep in mind this is an OTS map. I'm sure we can speed things up with both a custom tune and clutch delay valve delete.
A brief comment on tuning. If the car is under warranty and it fails due to a tune, the manufacturer will not pay up. How will BMW know you've mapped it, regardless of whether it's still mapped or not? Because when they plug the car into their computer, they'll see it's done 100mph whilst not moving, they'll conclude it's been on a dyno and your warranty will be invalided. Do NOT tune cars which are still under manufacturer's warranty. If you aren't happy with the power and torque of the new M2, then buy a used M5 Comp instead.
Rods are weaker in the s58 than the b58, the rods are thinner in the s58 if he keeps doing high load while in low rpms hes going to throw a rod, normally in you’d want to be around 4.5k/5k rpm when you punch it from a roll. Punching it at around 3k rpm’s you’re going to bend a rod eventually. N54’s had this issue since they make peak torque around 1.5k rpm’s. Same applies to the s58 and b58 and any car making crazy torque. Torque kills transmissions and bends rods. My n54 tuner told me about this and im glad

The car even logs when you dyno it. So if bmw notices weard boost levels and a dyno run they know enough to void warranty.

Honestly it'd only lower MPG if you're under WOT. Also, Ethanol in general yields lower MPG.

No lift shift is an option for n54. Select the shift bog fix and go to work.
