    You are the answer to my dreams !!!!! I'm a 67 yr old female DIYer who barely passed Calculus 101 and have struggled with numerous renovation projects since then. You just saved me a ton of money if I had to hire a tradesman to rebuild my mudroom and exterior planter boxes! I hope your channel continues to grow exponentially :)

    I was searching for this information for weeks. Years of typhoons, Earth Quakes, Monsoon cloudburst heavy rain, moisture wood rot means it is DIY replace Roof TIME!
    New King Rafter, all Vally rafters, but cutting the valley rafter ends for accuracy was confusing to my 80 year old brain.
    Now with my Chinese Speed square, short bubble level I am on my way to the attic.

    Hey man! Awesome video.
    I'm trying to repair a roof joist this was super helpful for the ridge board side but I noticed the side attached to the top plate ( sry if I got carpentry terms wrong I'm an electrician) is cut as well at an odd angle and I'm wondering do I just mirror the angle I cut for the Ridgeline? Cool video though. Short and to the point. Thank you

    How do you account for the birds moth cut because the angle will change slightly.

    Could you use a speed square and torpedo level???

    • @mirahgirl01
      @mirahgirl01 8 месяцев назад

      Technically yes as long as you know the starting point of the pivot point plumb is plumb! That's all the string like does is act like a plumb Bob to give you a true level! So as long as your level is good it would be effective!

  • @apostasiaelegcho5612
    @apostasiaelegcho5612 3 года назад

    CH Hanson makes a speed square, which they call a "pivot square" for this entire purpose. No need of a plumb bob with there's.

  • @georgelfc1
    @georgelfc1 3 года назад

    hi could you just not draw a level line (vertical ) with a spirit level instead of hanging a chalk line and then drop the square on it ? it should pivot and give u the number when the square touches the pencel mark thanks
